Tonight was a great time as always. Congrats to the winners!
As always, Goat will be by to post the winners. Great job to everyone involved.
Next week we will be in Talos Island for:
(I'd like to apologize in advance for the following announcement)
Come wet your beak with Hero Dawn's "Fowl Play" bird themed costume and trivia contests on Monday, September 12th at 10 P.M. Eastern on Talos Island in front of the Talos statue (Field Analyst).
Many strange birds will enter but only one will be named king (or queen) of the roost.
Now that's something to crow about! -
-
Reminder:
We're just a couple days away from our "Myth Representations" costume contest in Peregrine Island.
That's going to be Monday, September 5th at 10 P.M. Eastern.
Come dressed as any character or creature from Mythology and meet us next to Crimson.
We've doubled the prizes for this one so:
1st - 200 million
2nd - 150 million
3rd - 100 million
I hope to see you there! -
I moved to Virtue from another server quite a while ago.
Here's what I like about it:
1) A wonderful sense of community.
2) A bunch of amazingly creative and intelligent players.
3) Easy to get a team if you want to.
4) Easy to RP if you want to.
5) A generally higher level of maturity in broadcast than what I've seen elsewhere.
6) Weekly recurring costume contests by groups like American Legion, Hero Dawn and others.
7) Lots of really fun one-shot and annual events by various groups.
8) The Cape Radio
9) A serious attempt to revitalize the red-side, by a great group of players that has me paying attention.
10) Home of the MFing Warshade.
11) Home of the successful Keyes run.
And tons more.
Come on over.
Let me know when you're going to start that all Defender thing -
As usual, the contestants for the "Robot Rumble" rocked!
It was really hard to judge this one due to the number of great costumes.
As always, Goat will be by to post the winners.
Up next week is:
Myth Representations: Come dressed as any character or creature from Mythology and meet us near Crimson. -
Reminder: Tonight is the night for Hero Dawn's "Robot Rumble" costume contest. Put on your best robot themed costume and meet us at the Talos Island train station at 10 P.M. Eastern.
I hope to see you there! -
Quote:((I think it's great that you guys are doing this!))OOC: Hello, this is an Roleplaying VG doctrine inspired by @Xanatos, @Freak Accident and myself (@President SK). It is in correlation with Xanato's Thread and it is the precursor for all of the event threads (RP/PVP/PVE/AE) that we will be having here on Virtue.

Come on out on Monday night and show them that <Insert Name Here> is the best school around! -

"The Beetle Invasion" was a lot of fun last night and we had lots of great costumes as usual.
No goat cheese was served, but we did have an appearance by the Orkin Man.
I was personally glad that we were able have one more event in Galaxy City before the place gets leveled.
Goat will be by a little later to post the winners.
We will be in Port Oakes next week for the Rogue Magazine Summer Collection. Our theme will be "Off-Duty Attire."
This event will start an hour earlier, so Monday, August 15th from 9 P.M. to 11 P.M. Eastern.
Here's the official thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=266896

Doom Diva has been posting some great articles for our costume contests over on the Hero Dawn site.
I wanted to share an excerpt with you:
Quote:Here is a link for more: http://www.herodawn.com/skyway-city-contest-winners/August 01, 2011 will be marked down in history as the most cheeky Hero Dawn event. Inside Skyway City AE Quiet Room was a gathering of the Hero Dawn clown convention. Each one sporting his or her own look of idiocy and color.
But why clowns? Well, thats what we expect from clowns to bring forth the fun! :P
Heres how it got started:
Kings and Nobles were entertained throughout the Middle Ages by their personal clowns. Fools of that era were considered honored characters as long as they were entertaining to their masters. Often, these included gifted dancers, acrobats, mimics and musicians who were full of sass and humor.
The fool carried a counterfeit staff that was basically a long stick with carved head and a fringed end. He wore donkey ears and a tail as part of his costume. The outfit made him look idiotic and therefore nobody was expected to take him seriously.
Fast forward to today
To make quite the fool costume in modern times, given the choices available to you from the COH tailor, requires a little time and effort. Tonight, we played witness to the variety of clown suits available to players and were honored to bring them to your desktop.
And don't forget this coming Monday at 10 P.M. Eastern for "The Beetle Invasion" in Galaxy City! -
As always, thanks for posting these VK.

Is the Mentor Project still active?
Their focus is to provide individual help to new players.
I think Nalrok_AthZim is absolutely right. Just being visible and offering help is another great way to represent the server.
Edit to add: I would be willing to help in any way. -
There's guy in my SG that runs an Empathy Defender.
He has a Patron Pet and and 2 offensive Lore pets. He spends his time healing and buffing them.
Before level 50, he kept himself stocked with back-up radios.
He does extremely well for himself solo.
