How to: Help newer members of Virtue, specifically new people to the game.

Greeting parties in Atlas/Mercy/Nova.
I'm serious. A bunch of vet players with their Helper status turned on. Waving, saying hi, asking if anyone needs help, maybe even offering to run missions with the newbies and mentor them.
My guides:Dark Melee/Dark Armor/Soul Mastery, Illusion Control/Kinetics/Primal Forces Mastery, Electric Armor

I'm not one for catering to trolls, but I'm all for helping them new folks. Unfortunately, I can't be at the meeting area 24/7 to help people, and I know there are others out there who might be dedicated to the cause.
Is the Mentor Project still active?
Their focus is to provide individual help to new players.
I think Nalrok_AthZim is absolutely right. Just being visible and offering help is another great way to represent the server.

Well, we can actually set this thread up to become the official thread. It's going to be awhile until i21 comes out, but we can plan ahead of time.
The whole purpose behind my act of generosity is that I don't want this server/game to crumble (as unlikely as this will happen), and I also want to introduce people into the throes of CoX RP.

And let me just say that if I went to a new game when it went F2P and was greeted by a throng of long-time game vets saying hi and offering to help me out, I'd be sold on the game almost instantly.

Newcomers should know that it is a requirement to pay tribute to me, Encharger. This tribute may be in the form of hard currency, baked and/or fried goods, and beautiful women. I encourage all helper minions to don iconic and stylish Encharger masks and lightning bolt Encharger emblems for easy identification. This will make it more convenient for the plebians to ensure their tribute reaches me and does not bring down my terrible wrath upon them. Further more, I will be commissioning the city council to change that big globe statue thing in Atlas Park into a big animatronic Encharger head that will periodically broadcast encouraging slogans to worship me, Encharger.

Since the helper name colors have been compromised by those who just want to look cool, may I suggest another visual cue as well? In earlier days, the taxibots really stood out because of their yellow/black, taxi-checkered designs. It was easy to find one and ask for assistance.
May I suggest a return of the taxibot costumes (en mass, I know there are a few still around), or a similar agreed upon color and pattern scheme that shouts "I'm here to help!"
Hopefully the "cool" crowd won't consider this the latest fashion craze.

I would keep my costume on Nalrok mostly normal, but would change his Ascension boots/shoulders/gloves to be gold and blue, signifying that I'm part of the helper crowd.

Well, in addition to transportation, we used to have badge runs, where a Taxibot would be right next to each exploration badge site in a zone. We'd take folks through the tour, with each Taxi telling the people a bit about the badge they just received, as they were ported to each site in order, then back to the gate or monorail station at the end of the tour.
There are lots of things Taxibots can do other than the "big three" of transportation, healing, and rez.
BY THE WAY...
If anyone does want to create a new Taxibot character, make a robotic-appearing character with the preferred name format of "Taxibot #" where # is the number of your choosing, usually a one or two digit number. You will need to have the "checker" pattern on the torso, arms, and legs. If you want to hide the pattern, make each of the body parts one color, and you can show the checkers only when you go into SG mode and your bot takes on the standard Taxibot black and yellow color scheme.

So, I was recently inspired by a story in General.

So, it made me think of a few things:
I'm generally hostile towards people with bad grammar, but I'm also one of those sympathetic bastards who is always willing to introduce people to the roleplaying that is on Virtue.
How can I best go about doing this as an individual, and how can we as a server accomplish this as a whole?
WARNING: i21 is coming. Many of the free players will have difficulty using the controls (as I have when I first joined), and may not be familiar with the fact that Virtue is the unofficial RP server. Without being an asshat, how would you help these rookies?
