The part I can't wrap my head around is why Alpha is set up to promote you doing different content. You have all the level 50 TFs which give components, plus the WST which encourages about 2.5 months of different content you can do to get other components. You also still get shards, which unlike threads are 1/4 a component each (instead of 1/20th).

When they introduce the new stuff, they take away all that content for a new system that encourages you to only repeat the same two tasks over and over again. I can't get to the part where people say "just wait for i21+ for more content" when they have the content available right now, this second, but decided to take it out for some reason in favor of a system that tells you "grind this trial."

It doesn't make sense to remove content when you introduce new content which can't replace what you took out either in quantity or quality. Before we even get to how many months I need to wait before I can grind 4 trials instead of 2, I want to know why I can't do the LGTF and get more than 1/4th of a common component (which will still cost me money).

The devs don't need to snap their fingers and generate content because it's already there. In fact they snapped their fingers to remove it. Alpha let you do all manner of different content in different ways. For this, they locked all means of advancement besides "grind these trials" behind a significantly more lengthy and grindy system that also costs tons of money.

Once again: if you ran enough content to get that many Shards, you'll have far more inf than required to convert them.
You make it sound like getting 10,000 shards is just a simple task I can do whenever I want. I got tired of running content just to get up to 32 shards for my very rare Alpha. Now tell me I need 90 shards just to get a common, as well as a few hundred million inf? Uh. Yeah.

You aren't reading the right threads then. There's a lot of negative feedback. Also you're underestimating the number of people who will like the system as presented. I'm not saying they're the majority, but they aren't a dismissably miniscule minority. Right now the only options are to grind the same two trials infinitely, or take the absolutely massive alternative route that requires tens of thousands of shards and billions of influence. People talking about the inf route as if it's a shortcut really have no idea.

I don't like the system as presented. Trials should be the forerunner in getting things, but right now they're essentially the only option. Everyone who says "you don't have to pay inf" means "do this one single task hundreds of times." That's not fun. Alpha didn't have to be that way. I don't know why the new ones do.

But this isn't really the thread for that. There are a lot of feedback threads on the topic. If you really can't find one, PM me.
  4. "Already repeating" after 2.25 months.

Once they add new TFs to the rotation it'll be 2.5 months before repeats. I'd say that's pretty decent.

I dunno, my NW has over 60% melee and she never really gets debuffed down by Cims. I also have Smoke Grenade for -ToHit. I don't really try to solo x8 on them but I don't need to; I'm rolling with a team. Almost all teams will have some sort of +DEF anyway, so the DDR will really only matter if you're soloing.

I agree though, Elude is silly. I don't have it, don't want it.
  7. I had an issue like this before. I petitioned it in-game (provide the char name, approximate time of market activities, and server name to save time) and the devs fixed it for me. I lost 100m, which they returned to me.
  8. It gives a purple swirly aura. It's small though. I actually used it on one of my chars for a visual perfume.

In my opinion, any time you go to any given zone it should (usually) be because you chose to go there. If you want to go to Dark Astoria and "experience" it, you should be able to run arcs there. Your "expeirence" of Dark Astoria should not be randomly having to go there to do a Council mission in the middle of an arc that otherwise is not even remotely related to Dark Astoria.

Speaking of which, I always thought Croatoa would make a good co-op zone. Inbetween the occasional team-up missions you could also have redside-focused arcs where you work with the Red Caps and Tuatha to spread mayhem. It wouldn't be the same sort of "everyone just works together and does good stuff okay" type of co-op stuff that we've been getting. You'd have heroic, villainous, and co-operative missions all in one area.

    Though we're getting off topic.

I think they mean the opposite. They were hazard/trial zones before, but now they're treated slightly more like real zones. But they still aren't connected to trams (although Faultline is connected to the D).

No, not really. If it sounded like that, it's not what I meant. My OP even states a few instances where zoning makes sense, and goes on to mostly call out when zoning happens for no reason (especially when a mission has no set location and can just be wherever).

Blueside just sticks mission doors in random zones with no rhyme or reason.

The Numina hunts are just silly, they're needless missions not just needless zoning.
Ah yeah, I usually equate TF=SF.

As usual things are better redside. For a while my Widow was blueside and I was going to do some of the Oro badges. Since there are basically three versions of "do this with no travel powers," I got stuck in a 20+ mission arc where every single mission was in a different zone. I spent 3/4 of the arc walking. It was not a fun experience.

I waited until that char went back redside to work on Oro badges again.

I am Glad that there are not that many zones Redside. Travel will be a bit better when i20 comes out with the 2nd Black Helicopter spot in Nerva and GV. This was by design, because the devs realized the mistake they made Blue Side. 2 x 1-6 , 2 x 10-19, 2 x 20-30, 2 x 30-40, not to mention all the hazard zones. They even tried to correct that by make 2 of them into psuedo hazard zones (Hollows and Faultline).

So the Next time you see a post that asks for more Zones "just for one side" vote no. Co-Op zones add expansion.
Personally I'm against new zones when we have so many unused ones as-is. But that's a whole 'nother discussion.

I said one of, not the only reason (and yes I've petitioned and sent support tickets numerous times). It's still annoying to have to travel from Steel to Dark Astoria, to Eden, to wherever. Especially since there's no actual reason for it to happen other than to waste time.

As I said, dumbing down would mean it makes the content easier or more accessible to less skilled players. Making enemies easier or missions shorter. There's no challenge or difficulty in traveling somewhere. Removing travel time does not dumb down things in any way. It simply removes pointless padding.

You're free to be in favor of pointless padding, but that's not the same thing as giving the players an "I win" button.

How much easier and more *dumbed down* does this game have to get?

Hell, put my suggestion in place and someone would complain that OMG, we have to PUSH a BUTTON!
Crossing the street isn't crossing 5 zones for no reason. Especially going to obscure zones like Dark Astoria. In fact, one of the reasons I'm opposed to constant zoning is it makes my client crash faster.

And dumbing down isn't the same thing as removing pointless time sinks. Unless you think there's actually a challenge presented by going to another zone.

Hate to have anyone be distressed because they had to go down a hall or actually *move.* And at the beginning of a TF, everyone gets a temp power, "Kill everything." One click and they all die. No travel worries. No END worries. No resistance/defense/SO/IO/Set worries. And no text other than "go hit the button." Wait, that might be too much. People may have to read a sentence. Yep, everyone goes to the contact and - no, they may need to find a door. They're just instantly teleported to a 10x10 room with a big "Hit the kill now button" banner in their faces. Yep, that's what we need, NAO.
    Wait, let me try.

All missions should alternate from the farthest reach of the Storm Palace to the farthest corner of Dark Astoria, with a stop to talk to an NPC at the back corner of The Hive. Because not making people travel long distances for no reason would be too easy.

Yesterday I bounced into two TFs with my Widow that I hadn't done in months (possibly years): both the WSTs. I started with Manticore, groaning each trip from Faultline to Dark Astoria (especially painful on a rogue). Afterward I was thinking that the Renault would be better, but it was sending us into the middle of Nerva and to the odd ends of Mercy. Each trip as eye-rollingly lame as the last. Traveling around with Ninja Run and Flight, the other TFs in the past have been just as bad. Just a reminder of old content and why it's generally avoided.

I know we've gotten enhancements to travel in recent times. Ships go to more places, fly and sprint are faster, and whatnot. But it's still not a solution to the real problem: asking you to zone is nothing but an ancient relic of time-wasting past; an artificial lengthener to slow you down and make the content feel longer than it is.

There's no actual purpose to being asked to zone, especially numerous times. Each mission taking place in a separate zone is just unnecessary. There's rarely any actual need for missions to take place in different zones; a lot of older missions are even flagged so that they can occur in various random zones. The only time zoning is super necessary is when the story calls for it (if it's specifically taking place in a certain location, in which case the missions should mostly all be taking place there) or if you're taking to an NPC (which is mostly a waste of time).

Newer TFs and arcs accomplish storytelling without requiring us to change zones for every mission. Can older TFs and arcs be updated to be similar?

Sounds kind of boring if your Tanker is just plain invincible, all the time, in all content, no exceptions.

Alternate answer: the keyword is nigh.

In short, Paypal cant change their random check (or their security), NCsoft wont change their 'payment response' handling. Support told me to contact Paypal, Paypal says its NCsoft not accepting a 'under investigation' payment. Short, i'm borked and missing the 7year boat on all my accounts.

Strangly enough, Ncsoft is the _only_ company i ever seen that rejects such payments, and i've done tons of payments with Paypal.
Contact NCSoft support, inform them of the issue and that you've been trying to make payments. See if they'll flag you for the 7year stuff anyway (fuss if they don't, escalate it if you have to). It's beyond your control.
  22. Only travel powers I use are flight, ninja run, and beast run. On the latter two, I keep a jetpack temp power handy just in case.

Things got hectic for me too. PayPal wouldn't let my payment go through. I went to renew a few days early and it kept disallowing. And PayPal support aren't very helpful. I went another method to get it done on time.

But I was also told by some friends that if you email NCSoft support about the issue they'll flag you for continuation if you were trying.
  24. She hits for around 5000. Even with 70% S/L (what a WP Tanker with Tough, or an Invuln Brute with Tough has), she'll hit for 1500 and can kill you in 2-3 hits. Invuln or Stone with Tough (Tanker) has 90% RES and can take more hits. If you don't have Tough she can kill you much faster.

DEF is still the best solution, with someone to patch you up between hits.

When I fight her, it's with Widow, Dom, or MMs. I don't even bother using oranges. She'd one-shot me anyway.
  25. Finally got the email and got it working. The whitelist wasn't functioning properly under some circumstances.

    Him: Here we go.
Him: It's only doing that when the remote server has configured either SIDF or DKIM
Him: I'm turning that off. Can you have another message sent automatically, or do you have to ask them to do it?
Dispari: I can do it through their automoated system.
Him: Give it a shot real quick. In theory, your address book should be a whitelist now regardless of if they've implemented SIDF or DKIM.
    Dispari: There it is.
    Him: Went through?
Dispari: Yup, finally got it and reset my password. Thanks.
    Him: Good deal.
Him: they must have added that qualifier option in a recent release, and defaulted it to on.

    Thanks for all the help.
