I wasn't able to tag along on Sunday, but I have some time available this Saturday (See my thread about the Kahn TF). Any interest in giving this a run on Saturday, after a Kahn run if it doesn't take too long, say maybe 12:30 EST-ish?
-
I still need the Column Breaker Badge on my Main Hero. (I also still need the Arbiter badge on my Main Villain, see forthcoming post about that too!) I appear to have some free time next weekend so I'd like to try and run this. I'll be bringing my Level 50 Ice/Ice blaster and hope to get my brother to come along too. His badger is a 50 Emp/Psy Defender. Would anyone be interested in giving this a go on Saturday, 2/6, say around 10:00AM EST? Minimum size for this is 4, level 45+. Anyone that has done this already have any tips or a time estimate? Unless I'm told it's impossible without Nukes/Shivans, I plan on setting for Master too.
I guess I should start a "list":
1. Dirtball - Ice/Ice Blaster
2. Karissa - Emp/Psy Defender
3.
4.
5.
6.

Not sure if this would be considered a PvPEC/PERC combo or not, but I'd like to see a RV event to get the badges for defeating the Heros/Villains...I've tried at least a half dozen times to get these badges on my main Hero/Villain with no luck. Not really an event that would need prizes/inf, just an organized get together since my attempts have all failed
Or how about auctioning more spots on a MoSTF team? -
Ooh, you got me! I know when I looked at this on Wednesday it said it would start at 8PM...I'm in the RWZ and it's a ghost town!
-
I am interested. Depending on the weather and if my playoff game gets rescheduled or not, I may be available. Around what time are you looking at?
-
In case anyone has the same problem in the future...
I solved the problem by by right clicking on TS2 and selecting "run as administrator" when starting up TS. -
I only have one Hero Badger and one Villain Badger, and I have the badge on both of them, but if I see anyone put a shout in VF, VB or VB2009 I will come along and add some support.
-
I recently upgraded to Windows7. My SG uses a TeamSpeak2 server for voice. I use the "push to talk" setting in TeamSpeak. Ever since upgrading to Windows7, no one can hear me on TS. If I change the setting to voice activated, I can be heard. Seems like the key press is being blocked by CoX in Windows 7.
Anyone else experience this? -
Thanks to all who came out to help. We actually melted Lord Winter twice. The second time we had a hard time finding the WInter Lord in Cap - he was hiding in the corner of the big wall near the center of town.
Had a great team of 7 people that worked both times, with two different folks for the 8th spot, and of course, once we spawned the LW realm, a second team showed to join in.
Thanks! -
Thanks all. I'm not sure exactly when I'll be on this weekend, but I will check in the VF, VB and VB2009 global chats when I do to see who is interested.
-
Still need to get the Lord of Winter on my Villain badger. Is anyone interested in trying this? When would be a good time to try? I've been trying to do this since the event went live but can never find more than 5-6 people interested when I can get online.
Anyone interested in trying on like Friday night or Saturday night? (Yes, I know Friday is Christmas) -
Quote:Outdated, over played, over indulged, gotten over, moved on, no longer the "in" thing, had his 15 minutes, had his second chance, retired, un-retired, retired again, lost in the shuffle, lost in space, lost his mind, retconned, given remembrance in re-enacted key events, memoralized in song/play/interpretive dance, given severance, given penance, showed the door and unceremoniously demoted to yesterday's news.
No idea who's fault THAT is, but that's the way it is. Until history repeats itself or the movie 2012 actually happens.
I really wish I had less RL stuff and more time to enjoy this game...I would VERY MUCH like to particpate in the Isolators. Too bad I am a part time musician and one of my groups has rehearsal every Wednesday night. -
Wow, it's been over 13 hours since this was posted and no one has blamed VooDoo yet...what's happening to this place lately?

My Ice/Rad was similar to yours, PvE only, and I played on a regular three person team with a Peacebringer and a Broad Sword/Dark scrapper. We used to run on Invincible (This was in the 5 difficulty level issues). Since the PB and Scrapper were plenty of damage it was fine for me to focus on running all my toggles to max effect and need minimal clicking. I would really only need to drop Ice Slick and jump into the middle of the mobs and start EF and sometimes RI if there were multiple bosses. Block of Ice was my only other power that I used regularly - mostly on runners or tough bosses. Many times I'd get the Overpower or it would stack with CC, and even if it didn't the Slow would stack with AA for nice mitigation.
Main differences was that I did not have Frost Bite or the Leaping pool. Instead I ran Maneuvers, Tactics and Assault along with Arctic Air and Choking Cloud. I slotted for additional +Recovery even with Stamina and AM + Hasten. Between AA, CC, 3 Leadership Toggles and then RI and EF, that's a LOT of toggles. I had 2 pieces of Gift of the Ancients, 2 pieces of Kismet in maneuvers, 2 Malaise Illusions and 2 Cacophony in AA, 2 Miracle and 2 Harmonized Healing in Radiant Aura, 2 Blood Mandate and 2 Commanding presence in Jack and 2 Paralytics in Block of Ice, CC and EMP.
I also had some fun slotting damage procs:
Lady Grey in Radiation infection (Also Achilles' Heel proc in here)
Malaise Illusion, Cacophony and Impeded Swiftness in Arctic Air
Ghost Widow's in Choking Cloud
Anyway, I found this a very fun hero to play, and it was very safe for all three of us. The only thing that gave us problems were high level Nemesis - fear resistance and long distance attacks were my bane.
Enjoy! -
@Grey Pilgrim - Sorry I didn't make it back on for ToT...I fell asleep while "watching" the Steeler game.
@Zamuel - If I'm available when you plan to try it, I'll tag along and help. I got the badges on my 1 Hero and 1 Villain badger, so I can bring along any buff/debuff/damage you may need. I have Rad, Kin, Dark, Emp, /FF, and /Rad 50s heroside, and a /Therm 50, /Traps 43 villainside, and also a 50 blaster and a 50 brute if damage is needed. -
Thanks to Grey Pilgrim, Zamuel and everyone else that came out and earned the new badges red side, I appreciate it!
-
I just logged in, going to start announcing in the global channels...hope to see some of you.
-
OK, just got back in town. I'll shoot for Monday Night, 11/9 around 8PM EST then. I'll look for you in the Victory Global Channells that I monitor - VB, VF, VB2009.
Yeah, I know, Monday night football...eh, I'm a hockey guy.
Hope to see enough for at least 3 or 4 teams! -
Been away for a week, and heading out of town again tomorrow. I'll be back next Sunday and I would like to get the new badges on my main Villain. I managed to get them on my hero, but seems like everyone must already have them on their villains, no one is around.
Would anyone be interested in trying to get these badges on either Sunday night, say around 9PM EST, or on Monday around 8PM EST? -
Monday is Thanksgiving Day for our Northern neighbors, so they are making the most of their long weekend. We call it Columbus Day, in Canada it's Thanksgiving Day, and a holiday.
-
I have 1 hero and 1 villain that I'd like to get this badge for. Any idea of day/time you're thinking about?
-
I got a Hecatomb, Damage drop on one of my villains in the mission that I dinged 50. I don't play a lot of Villains to begin with, and I don't slot Purples at all. I'd like to offer it to one of my fellow "Victorians" instead of putting it up on the Black Market. Not just because I am a nice guy, but also because I'm thinking of the infamy I can net by avoiding the market fee...which would also save you some $$ too. The last 5 sold for:
300,000,000 9/14
400,000,000 9/12
500,000,000 9/12
510,000,099 9/12
290,000,000 9/10
If anyone is interested in this recipe, send me a PM, or find me in game @Dirtball, I'll trade it to you for 375,000,000. Again, this is Villain-Side. -
IV. Wrapup
So, hopefully you'll see like I did that you turn a mind numbing exercise in repetitiveness into something a little more interesting.
Typically I would log in while getting ready for work in the morning a few times a week and run it twice before heading off to the daily grind, but in the evening or on the weekend I would usually run this mission about 3 times before I'd get bored with it and move on to a different character or go play the market, but a few times, I would run through it 6 or 7 times at a sitting. Overall, it has taken me a little over a month to get this badge, but had I really focused on it, I could have probably managed to get it in about a week. That would mean running the mission about 15 times per day for a time investment of about 2 hours a day.
Between all of the mission completes, salvage drops, recipe drops and defeats, I pulled in well over 12,000,000 infamy just doing this and putting all Salvage and Pull B recipes up for 5 Infamy on the Black Market, and selling all Generic IO recipes to the Tree of Wonder.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has tried something similar to this, any comments from someone who tries this method, and even any general comments or things I missed. -
III. Loot!
OK, I looked at at this way: Yes, I am running this for the badge, but since I'll be spending a lot time and effort, I might as well maximize my loot while I am at it! Here are some tips on maximizing your loot while diong this.
I'm assuming you're obtaining this on a badger character, so I'll also list out all of the additional badges you can either obtain, or make progress on while getting Untouchable.
- First, and easiest, is the Chrononaut exploration badge, it's found in Ouroboros, at the highest point on top of the building.
- If you're trying to get all of the Flashback badges for the various level ranges with the least amount of arcs needed, you may need an extra couple arcs to get the Mender badge, for completing 50 Flashback arcs.
- You can get the Chronologist Day job badge for logging out in Ouroboros for a cumulative total of 21 days.
- Damage Badge Progress. Yes, I know it won't be much, but what the heck, the damage badges are epic and every bit helps, right? Not every run, but sometimes, I would intentionally fly right into groups and aggro them before flying on. Usually you will get hit with Slug or Buckshot or a punch, but sometimes you'll get "lucky" and get hit with a Full Auto which will do a hundred or so points of damage.
- Infamy Earned Badge Progress. Again, more Epic level badges, but a little help from here. While running the mission, I was running out of SG mode to help make a little progress towards the Infamy badges. Set to Villainous at level 50, I was getting 34,625 infamy for mission complete, plus another 34,625 as the Flashback bonus. This is in addition to any defeats you make inside the mission. Of course, if you run like I did, by simply flying to the last room of the cargo ship and taking out the two negotiators, you will only have two Lt rank defeats, netting 3,943 infamy for each of them. 77,136 infamy per run x 100 runs = 7,713,600. Yes, nothing to brag about, but, I was all about milking this for all I could.
Besides multiple badges, you can get additional loot too:
- If you log out in Ouroboros, in addition to working towards the day job badge, you will also get a short duration of the bonus associated with the badge, which is an increased chance at receiving a recipe upon any mission complete. Most times when I got a recipe for mission complete, it was a Generic IO. Since I was level 50 while doing this, they were of course, level 50 recipes. These recipes can be used if you are still working towards the crafting memorization badges as they are rather expensive to buy from the crafting table. if you have already finished the memorization badges, you can sell them on the Black Market to work towards the sales badges. Or, if you already have all of the memorization and sales badges, you can just sell the recipes to a vendor. I would sell to the Tree of Wonder in my SG base. Level 50 Generic IO recipes are worth about 100,000 infamy each. Some are more (Damage, Accuracy, Recharge) , some are less (Immobilize, Stun). And, you can also sometimes get some decent Pool B recipes doing this too. The best part is that since Flashback gives a double mission complete reward, many times I got two recipes at mission complete! Sometimes both Generic IOs, sometimes 1 Generic and one Pool B, and rarely, 2 Pool B recipes.
- You can also get salvage drops along the way too. Depending on the way Common and Uncommon salvage are priced, this could add up to a big chunk of Infamy, though not countnig towards the earning badges.
- I also made sure to have some inspiration slots empty. I seemed to get 1 inspiration every time I ran the mission. Just a Tier 1, but it allowed me to add some stock to the SG bin for other characters to use.
- You will also get 1 Reward Merit for each time you complete this mission. That's 100 Reward merits total. 4 random rolls, or save them up for a bigger purchase.
- First, and easiest, is the Chrononaut exploration badge, it's found in Ouroboros, at the highest point on top of the building.

II. Tips for time savings...
My first suggestion here is to make sure you have the Ouroboros Portal Temporary power, it is pretty much a must for this badge. Even though you could rely solely on a Pillar of Ice and Flame in a SG base, get the portal, you'll thank yourself later, trust me. If you don't have the portal, you can get it by obtaining the Entrusted with the Secret badge. You will get this when you complete your first time through the Agent of Discord Badge mission. Just access a Pillar of Ice and Flame in a SG base the first time. The Portal has a 5 minute recharge so you can only use it once every 5 minutes.
While using the Orouboros Portal I could complete the mission in just over two and a half minutes. My travel power is Fly with 2 pieces of Soaring in it, so I am defintiely not capped out for flight speed. Now you're probably asking yourself, "But Dirtball, you said that you're completing the mission in about 2.5 minutes, and the Orouboros portal has a 5 minute recharge, what do you do with that other 2.5 minutes? The Black Market is 237 yards from the mission door, so you can always hit the market to sell, bid, flip, or whatever. If you don't have any marketeering to do, which I frequently didn't, I would use my SG Base Teleporter Vet power. Once inside the base, I would sell Generic IO recipes to the Tree of Wonder, play salvage dump into the SG bins, and also offload inspirations that I may have gotten into SG storage as well. Then, hit the Pillar of Ice and Flame and get the mission again. Zone back to Sharkhead using the Portal, not a teleporter, and you will be right where you were when you used the vet power to get into the base - which should be right outside the mission door. By the time you complete the mission the second time, your Orouboros Portal should be recharged, or very close to it. You can then hit Orouboros, pick the mission again, come back to Sharkhead, being 275 yards away, and run the mission for the third time in less than 15 minutes.
Sidebar #2: As of the writing of this guide (Pre I16) there has been a bug reintroduced to the game. Upon zoning, usually all toggles will be turned off, and powers will be recharged. This means that the Orouboros Portal may be usable as soon as you finish the mission instead of having to wait for the full 5 minute recharge. This will speed up your process even more. However, I don't expect this bug to remain indefinitely as it was in game and fixed previously.
Here is a quick rundown of how I ran for time efficiency:
- Set to Villainous difficulty to spawn small group and Lts instead of Boss level mission objective
- Pick up the mission and run it
- If my Orouboros Portal is recharged, I zone directly from inside the mission to the Oroubouros Zone.
- If portal still recharging, will zone directly to SG Base using vet power.
- If both are still recharging, I will "Quit SF" which will immediately zone you out of the mission
- Once back in Orouboros or the SG Base, "Quit SF" to avoid having to travel to the contact
- Fly to SG Portal
- Pick mission again and zone back to Sharkhead to run mission again.
