Quote:But are you saying you won't buy it, or you have to save up to buy it some time in the future? IE when it hits the bargin bin?The reason I never bought it is due to my fun budget being very small, CoH eating up a good majority of what I am able spend on games. Not everyone can throw money at this game every time a new booster or expansion comes out. So, just saying, some of us don't have room in the budget to include these kinds of things.

Quote:Riiight, seeing as the I18 post says tip missions lead to NEW ARCS there clearly isn't anything in it for non GR users (how many are the going to be of those anyway? Really?)Issue 18 is not much of an issue, reminiscent of Issue 15. Cross-faction trading that doesn't directly affect gameplay, tip missions with likely little benefit for non-GR subscribers, and a new task force. The Anniversary task forces set the bar very low for Cathedral of Pain, and I don't see the writers having much incentive to jump higher when the focus is on side switching and Praetoria.

Quote:CoV was a game in it's own right, completly stand aloneJust hoping.
CoV gave us new Zones and Contacts.
GoRo will also.
CoV gave us new Archetypes.
GoRo introduces NO new Archetypes.
CoV gave us a big bunch of new power sets.
(Please read "new power set" to include the "proliferated" powers from hero ATs.)
GoRo will give us 4 new powersets; one available for each AT.
So ... like I said ...
I was just hoping for more.
It just seems like the money spent on Cov netted more "Bang for your buck," as it were.
GR is an expansion and costs less for the expansion alone. -
Quote:Yeah, I wondered about recipies as I've found that some of the less usefull ones don't sell even at 10inf. It seems a good way to start a toon off with some capital, but a time consuming long term strategy.Oh, and if you must Vendor level 50 common IOs are the way to go I found. I started with Uncommon and Rare salvage but once I had 100k amassed it was trivial to just bid on stacks of level 50 Common IOs and make 50k a pop vendoring them. Once I had about 10 mill from that I was able to buy and craft the Knockback protection IOs and sell them for about 9 mill profit a go.
Still peanut to lots of people but quick for me to do when I first switched to the US side to give me a cushion. -

This is a game... none of it's important. Make it too simple... no incentive to play.

Quote:Thanks for politely calling me stupid. You'll note it was a test, I was curious is all. I reached much the same conclusion as you.People ARE stupid, but not the people you think.
Scenario 1: I buy up 10,000 salvage for 50, sell them to a vendor for 250. I make 200 * 10,000 = 2 million inf, and it takes me (at 40 salvage per run, generously) 250 round trips.
Scenario 2: I buy a Thunderstrike for 100K, three pieces of salvage for a total of 100K- overspending WILDLY- spend 490K crafting it, sell it for 3 million, give 300K to Mr. Wentworth. 100K recipe, 500K crafting, 100K salvage, 300K wentfees= 1 million. I make 2 million inf.
... or someone who can't be bothered bids 5 million and I make just under 4 million inf.
People are stupid, but not the ones you are thinking of.
(For extra credit, how long would it take you to make a billion inf?)
Obviously anyone new trying something out is stupid, but we can't all be clever like you. -
Quote:Didn't see England, Scotland or Wales there either :PAll of the above are also individual countries. They aren't states in the sense that the USA has 50 states. You wouldn't see an individual US state represented at the World Cup for example :-)
(Yes I know there was an English team there, but they weren't actually DOING anything)
Quote:I thought 'Britain' was the name of the bigger island and 'Great Britain' the name of the collection of countries including Northen Ireland and all those piddly bits off the coast of Scotland...having just quickly looked at wiki, it seems there's no such thing as 'Britain', just 'Great Britain' - which has left me utterly confused and feeling stupid. -
Hey Brambelino,
Welcome back. The populations not as bad as some would have you believe. I would highly recommend the Channels Fatal listed above. I'm on most evenings during the week so feel free to drop me a tell if you want to team. Global is in my Signature. -
Quote:Hmm, on my first character I knew WW was there but it was scary... then, so was teaming and practically every social interaction. I was nervous of getting it wrong and looking like a newb. Now, I constantly get it wrong but just don't care.If a player isn't selling stuff on the market, I don't have a lot of sympathy for them unless they don't know it's there. But considering the buildings are HUGE and brightly lit blue side, and typically in conspicuous spots red side, there's no reason for a player to not know it's there before they get to SOs.
It's far more likely for a player to get to SO range and not know they can buy SOs from stores (I have personally seen this many times in new players, up to and including level 30-something characters subsisting off of drops alone, or even buying TOs from the regular quartermasters redside (that was fun to explain the terribad idea of to that newbie) above DO levels) than it is for the player to not know the market is there.
I didn't use WW untill well into the higher levels and he was still slotted with SO's untill recently when I started adding IO sets. ... Must finish that... -
Quote:I wouldn't call AE an issue tied to a physical box but rather the other way around as there was no benefit in buying the box if you already had a subscription. You're right... I14; that's what I get for keying in numbers on the keypad.
Ashes to ashes,
Pheonyx
Quote:Yes that is the way I read it. So these "tip" missions are effectively paper missions, but upon the 5th (or w/e) one instead of robbing a bank you get to run a morality mission.
Quote:Tips System
The Tips System gives players a new way to find missions. During play, foes Level 20 or higher may drop notes or clues, or offer information. These Tips start new mission arcs, allowing characters to face new opponents and challenges -

But they Dynasty Warriors music that plays now is just so epic!
-
It does say 'along with enemy debuffs' in the OP.
-
On the second point are you saying once you have upgraded from the trial to a paid account if you let your subs lapse you'll still be able to play? On any toon? Or only toons under 14? Would you revert to the no tells rules?
-
Yeah, I like this idea. Good idea. /signed.

Quote:Were you in Wales at the time? Whoever said that ought to be shot!Ok now im going to sound really stupid here today [more so than usual!] but here it goes.
Today in work i was bored and thought i'ld start a little mini game, something i used to play as a kid in those long car journies. Where you all take it in turns letter by letter to go through the alphabet saying a word that starts with that letter. For example i said lets do countries so would go like this
Me: Australia
Person2: Brazil
Person3: Canada
etc etc,
Now when it got to W somebody obviously said Wales however one person was having none of it since we wouldnt allow states and just purely "official countries", which got me thinking . . . . . what is the difference between a state and a country and does that make the UK a country or a mini continent as such since it has a cluster of countries inside it?
I think that should be Great Britain, and is now purely a geographical term for the largest island in the British isles. -

This morning I was doing a small test seeing how easy it would be to buy up high supply low demand salvage to vendor. I was buying at 20-50 inf for the most part and while I was buying 10 or so stacks of 10 at a time someone else was buying the same stuff for 1000inf. Moral of the story is people are stupid.
-
Quote:While I understand what you're saying, I'm willing to bet most of the low supply items on WW have high prices. It really depends on what you are counting as the source. To the first point, I think that if people put a couple of 1,000,000,000 bids out on some lvl 33 Kinetic Combat pieces, and they were able to communicate those bids (on these forums, perhaps), then they would get their supply pretty quick. That tells me that the current supply that is currently in bases and on toons are not coming to market because there is not enough incentive. Yeah, I took Econ 102 as well. Heck, I taught it in grad school, hopefully not to you, since I'm not sure you are understanding how demand and supply interact in a multi-period environment.
If they are low supply due to them being low supply drops (rares, purples etc) then the low supply drives UP prices.
However in reverse what you are saying is that sometimes the price effects supply and there are plenty available in game, just not in the market cos the prices aren't good enough.
I wouldn't call the later low supply as there clearly isn't enough demand to satisfy the supply hence the low prices. Sounds like that is oversupply to me. -
I think there have been some bugs recently where vet rewards had done this and you'll likely not lose them but get no more till you have earnt them.
-
-
Quote:Yeah, I have noticed that recently too.Depends on your drivers. I used to be able to alt tab fine and then recently alt-tabbing caused the game to stop rendering until I tabbed back in... twice. It's weird, but I just changed it to windowed mode to get past it.

Quote:I hate Teleport supression. I understand why they used it but my TPing toons get stuffed because of it.I would like to suggest that the timer be about 2 minutes, AND that along the way bombs may be clicked to give a time bonus to the team. Teleport suppression would be in effect. Mission completes before the timer runs out anyway (so no fail for not making it out in time), but obviously would make a difference between exiting unscathed and exiting to the hospital!
