Not really then, as your original statement implies you can construct a team without those but it'll fail where as your statement above implies that you can't create a team without it as most damage dealers have debuffs too and killing stuff is agro management. I don't agree with that either, agro management implies you are controlling it in some manner. Blasters just remove it entirely by killing everything before it becomes a problem. There is no management, more avoidence.

Could you explain the thinking behind the locking of Necro threads? or is it as said above from Mod 8?
-
Quote:Yeah, I don't get that. Most forums would prefer old threads revived for a relevant question rather than new threads being created.Because it was a necro'd thread.
You know, he kinda explained that in his post in the thread.
There were over two years between posts. Now, I understand that someone had a question related to the original question, but that's now how things work on these forums. For whatever reason, the mods don't like thread necromancy. -
Quote:OK, I just checked the market. I'm assuming your use of Alchemical Gold was just pulling a name out of a hat, as there is currently an excess of demand for that. There a plenty of examples of salvage for which there are hundreds of them in stock and there are ZERO bids, yet the minimum price is thousands of inf. There's no way you can convince me that there are 1000 sellers out there all wanting at least 10,000 infamy for an alchemical gold. No, instead there are more like 10 sellers with 100 alchemical golds each that control that market and buy up any of the 'under priced' supply with the dozens of standing orders they have placed.
However, Demonic threat reports do fit your figures. 8k selling 38 bids last 5 were 10k 1inf 10k 10k 10k.
I bid 50, 500 and 1001 and the 1001 filled instantly, and since then there has also been sales of 2k and 5k.
I have left the 50 and 500 over night and will see if they are filled tomorrow. I'm willing to bet they have.
Quote:Um, I'm not entirely clear how BOTH of these things can be true. If there are zero bids, how can someone buy up underpriced supply as it comes to the market?
Perhaps regular buyers have bought all the cheap Alchemical Gold that was for sale at low prices, and all thats left is people who took a chance and listed them for a high price, just in case someone really wanted one? Or can you think of another explanation thats consistent with zero bids, but the cheapest one being that high? -
Quote:Like a bug zapper?I really don't think computers should glow orange. An orange glow inside a box looks like a bar grill, which has unpleasant connotations for hardware. A blue glow is much more high-techy
Other than that, though, sweet machine. It's not how it looks on the desk that matters, it's how it looks on the screen, and I'll bet that would look pretty awesome. Congratulations.
Great looking rig there though. -
hehe, I had the same problem. There is someone by the entrance to the bank lobby who is marked as Teller to talk to.
-
I'd imagine if it's reported they'll remove it straight away. They are pretty proactive on characters so don't see why this would be any different.

Quote:I took that to mean it was the BM due to the merger."The other is not quite such common knowledge. Out of nowhere, Wentworths has gained access to new suppliers, but all suspicions and investigations have been stymied by the immaculate paperwork of their new partners. Likewise, the Black Market has suddenly seen a rise in activity, though no one has looked too closely at the why so long as the goods are solid. For now, it remains a mystery."

Quote:People are saying yes, but because of the chaining you've mentioned I think the answer is no. When the leader quits the mission, the mission goes away, at least in most Radio missions.
If you were to make a "fan" rather than a chain, where the leader stays and invites other toons, then absolutely it would work, UNLESS you finish the bank mish first. Then the mission is over.
It has been my experience that what I've said is probably right.
The idea is that the toon staying enters the mission before the holder logs off. That way the mission can't go away. -

Quote:I've highlighted the important bit there... it's important for 2 reasons. Are there any plans, any possible solutions to the spinning out of control in game economy? Am I alone in thinking the markets and economy in the game need a fix? Maybe it is just my perception, but the price on items some of us want goes up and up like a rocket putting some things out of reach, seemingly forever. My veteran characters have several hundred million influence and infamy, and seem dirt poor. I can't play 10 hours a day to get the influ and merits I would need to build the character I would like, and I do not wish to be part of the problem, by purchasing influ from the web sites that sell "in game money" for real money. It appears to me the inevitable outcome is that one day I will log in, and everything in the market will cost the max (2 billion?). Is there any way to stop it? Please help. (fyi..I love the game that is why I feel so strongly about this)
1. It's a want, not a need. You can play the game without it and have just as much fun.
2. You want it, dave over there wants it, steve on Union wants it, heck, everyone wants it but there is limited supply. So prices go up as demand goes up and supply drops.
The easiest way to combat it would be to increase supply, but the point is some stuff is MEANT to be rare. Mean I know, but so's life. -
Quote:^ ThisYou sound like you've never heard of the shift+click bind.
/bind lshift+lbutton powexecname teleport
Hold the shift down, and wherever you click, you teleport to. It's a button your pinky can hit so it doesn't tie up the rest of your hand.
I use this bind, and I would be encumbered greatly by your proposed system. As it stands, I can TP in the middle of whatever I'm doing. In combat, I TP once, so I'd go from pressing one button to two.
The only suggestion I have ever heard that would improve TP is to "break the immobilize/hover if you try to move."
Using this bind TP is a single mouse click without the need to click the power. You're would lock you into TP and stop you from clicking anything else. An issue the other Travel Powers don't have. -
Quote:OK, you need to quantify what you mean by ACTUAL super power sets. Cos otherwise you're just blowing hot air.If they hired three guys just to do staves, so one could be reasonably sure it wasn't pulling resources away from them making another set, and sold the fruits of that as an optional Booster, I'd say 'go team'. If they did the opposite of that, I'd complain, obviously. Hell, if they promised some actual super power sets, I'd animate the damn staves set myself on my own time for nothing and crank out the weapon models for customization.
-
Sorry, you keep bringing up power armour... Practically ANY set could double as a power armour set, depending on what the armour provides. Would you prefer an option that fixes your costume into armour? Or would you prefer to pick a set that you like and then add an armoured costume? Give me the later any day.

Quote:Yeah, it was.Fixed my typo, though I don't think it was too hard to figure out what I meant...
Quote:The post was implying that I was wrong in my reasoning for why UM was released when it was, but the reality is we are both doing nothing more than guessing as to why it was released when it was. She stated "UM was NEVER intended to be part of the paid-for GR experience, it was meant to be part of the issue that came with GR. " This certainly seems to imply that I felt UM was intended to be part of GR, which is simply not true, the post she was referring to should make that clear. Now her stating "it was meant to be part of the issue that came with GR", which is what I stated in the post she was referring to, provides solid and correct reasoning for EITHER of our guesses, that UM was released early because it was simply ready early, OR it was released on early (or on time...) because they were lagging behind with GR, and wanted to give the players something to hold them over. Having said that, I don't really think there is any valid argument to imply that GR hasn't taken longer than expected, which seems to support my contentions about UM.
Quote:If you read the promotional material, the new way to get a contact seems to imply that it links to existing content, including the new content in GR, as implied by their side switching talk. If it links to a lot of new content, then that could be a big feature (the content, not the new way to get contacts, which was the feature I was referring to), but I'm not overly optimistic after reading into their copy and seeing them unable to deliver promised features in GR.
Quote:Tips System
The Tips System gives players a new way to find missions. During play, foes Level 20 or higher may drop notes or clues, or offer information. These Tips start new mission arcs, allowing characters to face new opponents and challenges. -
Quote:Hang on, assuming you mean UM not GR in the first part of that, what you said was...I did not say that GR was intended to be part of GR, I said it was originally intended to be released at the same time. Consider your strawman footstomped.
Quote:I'd prefer they get their work done correctly and on time, that's how it works in most businesses, well, businesses that stay in business. If you're not sure you can get a feature in, don't promote it while pre-selling said product. For them to talk about the first incarnate level being in GR how many months ago, they should have been very confident it was good to go, now a month before release, its suddenly too broken to put in?
And GR has already been delayed. Ultramode was supposed to be released along with GR, they released it earlier because GR was taking longer than expected.
Quote:Actually, I believe that the reason for Ultra Mode being released as part of i17 was because it was ready to go live earlier than expected. UM was NEVER intended to be part of the paid-for GR experience, it was meant to be part of the issue that came with GR.
Quote:While it is obviously a matter of opinion, the new way to get missions is not a real big feature to me, and I'm fairly certain the vast majority of players would not consider it a 'big' feature, lol.
If issue 19 comes out this year I'll be shocked, pleasantly shocked, but definitely shocked. It would be a very good sign that the power reshuffling at paragon worked. Then again, I'd need to know what is in issue 19. If it ends up being just the first level of incarnates with another 'big' feature like a random contact calling you at random times, I'd be a bit less impressed, but I'm sure you'd be thrilled, so we got that going for us. -

Quote:You don't need to buy a physical copy of the game, all you actually need is to choose one of the copies on the website. Rajani Isa above made some good recommendations reguarding the options available.Ok, I set him up an NCSoft account and started his download for him this morning so it will be a surprise for him when he wakes up. He is on a 14 day trial and when I log in to my NCSoft account I see his details there, so it looks like I can manage it. At the end of his 14 days if he still wants to play I will pick him up a copy of the game. Any places running any good deals on the package? Didn't I see there is an edition of GR that includes CoH and CoV also? Or did I just make that up?
However... (yes there is always one) You are correct in seeing the GR + CoH + CoV set, it's called the complete edition, but isn't properly available yet. You can preorder it from... gamestop I think... but won't recieve it untill the 17th Aug or so when GR is released. This would be the best way to go if you can wait 2 weeks, although the other good option would be the Architect edition which also gives you one booster pack for free.

Quote:Within your account you should be able to recommend a friend, but I think that would mean that you can't add it as a sub account under yours, which is sounds like you want to do. I would suggest purchasing a new account under your master NCSoft account page.Yes! I know LotRO, it doesn't matter if youhave a second disk, they seem to encourage you to just use a friends disk. Ok, so I need to pick him up a copy? Or how do I do this for just the 14 day trial thing for him? I'd like it to be a sub-account of mine so I still handle the personal/financial info. He's 11 and smart, but he's still 11, ya know? I'd like to be able to play with him as much as possible.

Quote:If, when you send the first tell, you replace the name with $Target (or whatever the target tag isOn this topic, is there a way to send the same Tell to another recipient, other than Up-Arrowing, erasing the original name, and typing in the new one?
e.g. I have one spot left to fill on my PuG, I send out some invite Tells, fill my one spot, but am still getting Replies from invitees.
I Tell ExtraPlayer1: Sorry had one spot left, full now
But now I want to Tell ExtraPlayer2 the same thing without typing it again or changing the name manually.
Possible?) then you select the name of the toon you want to send the tell to in the search box and hit enter and up and it'll send to them.

Quote:Yeah, there are people around who do it. I was pleasently surprised at her hardiness over the weekend at level 24. And with some sets etc I'll see how I go.Good luck with this. You will find it tough to tank without the granite. Very tough.
Quote:The defense softcap remains the same against even con minions and up to +4 AVs.
Quote:Regarding which is the best to concentrate on, it's going to be defense because you can't concentrate on Resistance except to take Tough, the shield power in your APP if you have one, and any other power that helps resistance. There essentially are no sets that help your Resistance.
Most ATs lend themselves to certain things. One defense strategy will be easier than the other. Usually you can only get 50% or so Resist in S/L or capped in something like Energy if you are Electric Armor.
Def is nice, but it's rolling the dice. Resistance always works.
