Once upon a Positron there was a bug. It's purple Mankey liked saving walruses deaths. Until a green shoe fell off a pretty cloud of root beer fluff cleaving off seven little toes while chewing Bubblegum. After seeing the drunk Pinnacle-ite puke chunky bits of magnets, it stumbled into a garbage carafe. Feeling pretty depressed, it died a Lonely death.
Elsewhere, there were some hungry hippos dancing on me for every time one slurps from the fountain of Wayne. In the early dawn, sirens wailed under a pale little moon made of nothing. People thought they saw Ghost Widow munching on Doritos with Valerie. But it wasn't Doritos, it was a magical corncob that sexy Jay designed with care.
This time, she wanted 12 umpa-loompas and 5 slimy Pterodactyls with Listerine. Suddenly the wizard Spanksalot grumbled with great big annoyance. Dirty scoundrels sacked small vermin left by evil midgets wearing pink Fedoras and speedos. However, Elvis wasn't having cheesecake; he stopped to adjust Stacy's corset that had melted rubber down its frog but sadly, he died.
Cheney shot the lawyer in the buttocks with spitballs made of recycled garbage with asparagus. After blowing the mayor, he loaded up 12 hundred bucks obtained illegally so he licked garbage which Statesman tossed overseas. I then drank sour kiwi Rum. Drunken Avenger then sang Imagine. Afterward, Lily Tomlin beheaded the Tele-tubby while it sat eating pickled beets.
Next, Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockheart, Vincent Valentine and Yuffie Kisaragi took Aeris Gainsborough out cold.
Considering everything that transpired, little foot sat on his behind waiting for apples. Eskimo kisses tickled my tootsies unmercifully. Eventually, they screamed bloody Sunday until one benevolent little prince started rubbing knobs fiercely.
More midgets climbed Numina and pruned quietly. Taking advantage of nimble and skilled gastrointestinal parasites wasn't such a hard chore, except flying ones drove crazy trains.

Ravenously belching Jingle Bombs, popsicles, Lava-lamps, and edible thongs, he swore revenge on Muffins containing poison tic-tacs for ruining everything. After hours of making Fudge of Extreme Puffs, he melted. Then the mighty leafblower began killing -

This is my main, an elec/elec brute with 32% melee defense. It doesn't have taunt, so you might want to do some tweaking. While my sets are reversed, you'll be able to see how I prioritized powers. Even with end-game builds, I choose my powers in order of need and availability.
I popped in here because I got into a rather heated argument last night. Someone asked players (probably the OP actually) to critique a build that was posted on the forums in broadcast. Someone dismissed the build outright because it was elec/elec, and I /headdesked when I tried to explain that elec/elec is a viable tank. That's what I get for moving to freedumb. (argument was via tells and ended with the person ignoring me because I was 'dense'). But that's a little off-topic and me just whining.
If the OP is the person who asked that, I suggest to the OP to ignore them, tell them to piss off! If people listened to all that stuff we would never of had ICE combo tankers. Nothing new would be happening. Elec/Elec I like to think as the new and improved Fire fire tanker. It's a little different, but it, from the look of the powers looks to be same style of kill them before they kill you and resistance focused.
I have been thinking about making an elec/elec but don't think I have time for it, but you're build is good. (going back to topic, did u see it) and the tanker section has probably some of the most non-bias advice in the whole forums, and the advice you have now, will only just improve your tank. -

It's Grounded, and good catch! Definitely pick up this power. I actually slotted a KB IO on top of Grounded because I hate getting KB'd when I'm jumping. That's a preference, not a requirement.
KB CAN KILL YOUR TANK!!!!! remember that OP. The biggest problem i have had in the past with my fire fire(the old elec/elec) was that kb would keep me down so they could bypass through my defenses and resists, I couldn't heal myself or anything because of the kb. If you don't want grounded atleast slot in a few IOs that grant KB prot. the one IO i use three times is: Steadfast: Knockback Protection
EDIT: taking a second look at your build drop Fire ball and grab grounded. 3slots is enough for grounded and you can use that one extra slot for something else. fire ball, is both not needed and sets don't matter.

Yep, as a tank you have to sort out the ADD Scrappers from the regular scrappers ROFL.(I'm add so I can make fun of them!) You will notice if you haven't already that scrappers think they are invincible, some can be, we call them scrankers. Others are n00bs. They can screw up everything if they are able to pull the aggro off of you or worst.... pull things onto your team. They will run everywhere...only way to solve this problem: Tell them to knock their crap off and if they have aggro they have to kill it!
Blasters will run in to nuke, but they are usually good and back right out afterwards. If you aren't ready for them to try and tank, don't be afraid to tell them, this game has a great community and will listen to you if your the tank or have the star or control heals....
The great thing about Shields, which I mentioned earlier, it holds aggro really well. Also has a power called grant cover, so you will protect any enemies near you...which takes care of this scrapper/blaster suicidal problem. -
Freedom is great for newer players. You can find a team instantly, and a vg instantly. HUGE N00bie population but there also is a good amount of vets still there. Some of the best khelds are on that server as well. Any toon you have now till the end up January can be transferred there too! We get 6 free server transfers a week till the end of the month so hurry!!! Freedom is probably the most active server in the game too. To transfer your toon, click "Buy server transfer" underneath the character menu. Don't worry it won't cost you anything. Ignore the warnings and choose your server you want to transfer to, once you chose the server click "Use free transfer tokens" or what ever it is called.
Some servers like pinnacle lack red side activity that is in the lower levels. I use to use Justice as my primary villain server back in the day but I am just to obsessed with my main and always have been.

I think its a pretty good build, high survival rate. Just remember that you need surge for your knock back protection if things get dangerous. Number wise and stats wise you are good to tank!
you might be able to make it better, just remember to save this build, so if you screw things up you can go back to what you had.

Since you are completely new I am going to give you the best combo I believe you can start out with; Shield/Fire. Fire will be for you to do your damage, which it does very well. Shield is the key to this build it will teach you how to tank. If you don't farm this toon and actually play it, the way the power sets are made for shields, it practically teaches you the basics and how to handle your toon.
You are probably thinking, well don't all the power sets have this and the answer is no! Shields has abilities that make you depend on aggro, without aggro, you are vulnerable. This tank is also a great long term tank, it can become a beast of all tanks. It also does insane damage. Which you should enjoy since your a former blaster.
I hope you read this post, although I can understand that you may never get to it because you may have already chosen your tank. Good luck to you!
EDIT: also each build of a tanker (pretty much depending on their primary) has a different focus and play style. Shield is pretty defense oriented, and since your defense oriented you worry about defense debuffs but shield comes with a safety button that protects you from those debuffs. -
When I am using burn, there isn't a fear effect, it's more of them just getting out of your attack. I don't see ANY decrease in holding aggro. I also feel that I hold aggro better than most tanks out there because of my AoE bombardments of Fire sword circle, combust, burn, and the single superior attack Greater fire sword.
With the amount of taunt I have going; auto taunt and blazing aura, I don't lose aggro, so maybe it was the particular tank itself. It was said earlier that burn does not have any anti-taunt effects and that is true. If you have aggro, when the enemies run out of burn, they should come back. Burn also only affects 5 people at a time.
DBs might be what's hurting this particular tank the most. He didn't choose a really healthy combo but I do know that DBs is one of the most common resisted abilities out there. So it could be that burn was hurting him in the way it was getting things away from him and that they weren't really bothered by him. Do we know what enemies you were going against? -

Today I Successfully managed to finish a STF, Rikti Raid and a WL team all back to back. Not only did that happen but I met two people I haven't seen since 06'. I think Pinnacle is growing my friends!!!!!

Well as of late, I have been running a lot of portal missions and I plan to do so on the weekdays just to do something and get teams going. You guy will see me in pinnbadges and cozmic's playground announcing those.
I made a toon on Freedumb but I only met three people that knew what the hell they were doing.
