I also recommend you all try playing a couple of characters from 1-50 without any dev tricks, just as a normal player, to see how grindy things are. Then go on a couple of farm missions with some friends and see how fun the leveling can be in comparison.
[/ QUOTE ]
I level all my characters 'without any dev tricks'. I have only four 50's to show for it, but those 50s mean far more to me than any 50 I could have gotten sitting in a farm with my thumb up my [censored]. If you honestly think the game is grindy, by all means give Lineage II a try. CoH's XP curve makes Lineage II's look like a sheer cliff. -

Horatio: What do we got?
Officer: Mr. Brickz. A well known hero famous for his high pain tolerance. Before he became a hero, he was the star of the short lived TV series, The Wreckers. Didn't last a season.
Horatio: Looks like Mr. Brickz and his TV show had something else in common.
Horatio: They both tanked.
YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

That's better. -
That's adorable. It reminds me of the letter my little sister wrote me containing a drawing of a monkey-ninja fighting a bacon-ninja. I have taught her well.

I am open to all intelligent ideas.... not everyone stumbles upon the same ideas so pm if you care to share this, as it sounds great. let me know what to do! I'm not about fighting and debating, I'm all about finding better ways, so lets hear it!

I've said them many times on these forums.

Level 50s, initial buy in used to be about 600K. Start with one, sell 5 a day by the end of the week. As your bankroll grows, move into higher profit margin pieces (if you desire that IO, everyone desires that IO, profit is waiting).
I started with 4 million inf last May. In 11 days, I'm going to be giving away 10 billion inf on Champion server. You can do it just as easily.
[/ QUOTE ]
As a fellow Champion and billionaire (though not multi-billionaire) I can corroborate. It works, it's how I fully IO'd both builds on my main and it requires little time investment. -

So I hear this update was a year in development?

What, I15 or Going Rogue? -
From now on, whenever I see someone kicking a puppy, I'll tell them 'You're doing it wrong' and hand them a sledge hammer.

Only Scrapper I've gotten to 50 is Katana/Regen, but I like it a lot. I recently respecced into a build that gives me a good shot at killing a Pylon within a reasonable time period. Katana isn't as flashy as Dual Blades or FWOOSHUNK like Broadsword, but it's effective and it looks nice. It also meshes well with Regeneration, a good set in its own right but even better when paired with Divine Avalanche.
-
Sure, newbies CAN get PL'd. It's their option. If they want a 50 hero so they can roll a Kheldian and expect a tank-mage, it's their option. I also think it's the worst mistake a new player could make.
Sitting inside a mission gaining levels without expending any effort does not cultivate knowledge of game mechanics, teaming or the game world. And what incentive do they then have to level up a non-PL'd toon? Why expend effort on something they just got for free, especially when it takes longer? -
Well, according to Mid's, the damage ticks every 2 seconds, and I believe the -end (-3% base) occurs at every tick. It's been a while since I played my /Elec Brute though.

BUT, i don't run back and forth or sit in WW all day hoping to make a dollar, either.

Neither do I, yet I somehow manage to kit my characters out with fun sets.

Dual builds are the best. On my main I have a super high recharge build and I have a capped ranged defense build. I use it for ITFs, STFs, and other stuff that is usually difficult.

So do I! -
Crossposting is against forum rules. But thanks for just another reason to avoid Virtue.

I think it's supposed to be in July, actually. Dunno for certain.

Some characters just don't have the resources to hang on a Master run. Like Ice Tanks.

True story, got MoSTF the first time with NetMinder's Ice Tank tanking.
But anyhow, I have a Blaster, Scrapper and Tanker that are all MoSTF vets. Take your pick. -

Why not just CoR, for City of Rogues ?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because there will still be some heroes and villains that don't go rogue?
[/ QUOTE ]
How about just CoX? It's worked so far hasn't it?
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but it's dirty and my pristine morality can't tolerate such low brow humor.

Co* then? -
The man in the cartoon rat suit suddenly turned right and ran down the alley towards the radioactive dumpsters that contained his weapons. Behind him, the ninjas slunk like oily shadows, noiseless and not at all noisy. The rat-suit man opened the first dumpster and his worst fears were confirmed.
"No! Not back-issues of Popular Mechanics!"
And the ninjas struck... -
Another thing worth noting is that SW:OR is also based on an entirely different business model (microtransactions).
-
I think a moral compass is something that's been a long time coming. It was inevitable, given CoH's source of inspiration (superhero comics), that we'd see this option added. I don't think SW:OR has anything to do with it.

The devs will release information on I15 when you give them proof that Liberty Prime is alive, well, and not being mistreated in any way.

Instant gratification isn't always a good thing for an MMO and handing out levels to inexperienced players never is.

So a 50 foot tall accordion, a kangaroo in a toga and a robot clown walk into a bar, and the barkeep says 'YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE, HITLER!' and jumps out the window into a swimming pool full of orangutans.
