  1. I made him his own master account earlier, that should have tipped me off that multiple accounts on one email were ok. Should have tried it before posting. Being a little lazy today, I guess I was hoping there was a quick way to fix the other account, haha.

Added another free account to his master and stood over him at the server select screen. Thanks again all!
  2. Hi all, quick question.

My son has been begging to play CoH with me for a long while. He's old enough now, so I made him a free account. While the game was starting up on his PC, I went to the bathroom.
By the time I came back, he had logged in and put both of his global character slots on the German language server. I'm pretty sure that account is ruined.

Anyway to easily fix this, or should I just make a new gmail account and get him another free account? Wasn't sure if I could add another account to my email, having a paid and free on it already, I know of some games that don't allow this.

    Thanks all.
  3. I don't get why people have to copy established superheroes anyway. It's a game where you can make your own superhero. Besides having a girl talk to them, its a nerds biggest dream come true.

I know what the problem is. These days young kids don't have to use their imagination when they play, so they grow up without one. Every idea is spoon fed to them. They can't even have an imaginary friend without mommy and daddy freaking out, and taking them to the doctor to get medicated.

All in all though, I blame video games.

    Gun Arms?

Yeah I agree with it being a lot of work to make something like this happen. Just had the idea rolling around in my head a long time and had to get it out there. I knew activation times and such would be a nightmare to get exact.

With the amount of work it would take to make this idea feasible, I'd guess they would be better off making an entirely new set.

    Gun Arms?

I've been thinking about this idea a very long time, as far back as Issue 1 when I made my main, a assault rifle/devices blaster. People probably won't like it, but I'll throw it out there anyway.

Sets like assault rifle, dual pistols and beam rifle don't have alternate animations, just different weapon models. So, why not make the alternate animation to be weaponless? Have the attacks come from the hands and wrists.

By making it an alternate animation, the people that love having the weapon out wouldn't lose a thing, as it would be a choice. Quite a few of the current animations in game could easily be recycled for this, except I'd guess pistols would need new animations from scratch.

As a long time fan of "power armor" type characters, this would be really great. I have always pictured my main character with gun arms. Bet some armored people out there would love beam arms and such also.

Just something I'd love to see, I doubt it's doable, but I'd actually buy and spend points on top of my subscription to get something like this.
  6. Good to know that the dude was a jerk. I was a little shocked since I've never run into that in CoH before, just that "other" game where you had to be an elitist to touch endgame content.

It worried me at first, but I guess stupidity knows no bounds. I'll head back to Pocket D later and see if I can find a non-jerk team. Thanks all, you're still the best MMO community I've ever seen.
  7. Hi all!

I recently came back to CoH after a break, unlocked my alpha slot, and through shard drops in regular missions and a couple TFs, got my alpha high enough for the level shift.

I was excited to try out the new incarnate trials and headed to Pocket D to find a group. I ended up getting a tell from someone about it and I explained that I had just come back and it would be my first time. They said no problem, then asked if I was defense capped. I said no, and was called a noob and that was that. It kind of made me mad.

I can understand a melee class needing it, but for a blaster I see no point in it. Seems to me that it would be nice for a solo blaster, but in a team situation it makes no sense to me as the tank should be keeping the mobs busy.

My main has been around since Issue 1, and I've worked hard on his build. It works perfectly fine in all the teams I've ever been in, I'd rather not change it just for trials. Do I really need to change it, or did I just run into some jerk elitist? Figured it would be better to ask. If it really is required, I don't want to make a fool of myself.

    Thanks all.

I still like the IO idea better because I think it fits in better with what already exists in the game, and forces new players to use the power as it is normally intended for awhile before switching it's secondary effect, but I wouldn't be standing in any picket lines if they went with your idea instead either.
True, but they couldn't really only allow you to only change knockback without it being unfair to people that may want to shut off the secondary effects of thier powers. Not that I can think of any you'd want to shut off, but there would be some people that would.

I'd like the IO sets also, but as LISAR said, it would be unfair to people that aren't high enough to slot IOs or just don't even slot IOs, there has to be some that don't.

I wish we could go back to the old days when everyone just had fun and didn't complain about every little thing in groups. I posted because I was angry at a group that complained about my knocking one mob back after the rest were dead. Mostly lazy melee that wants to stand in one spot the whole spawn. That stuff just gets to me, I'm too emotional I guess.
  9. Expanding on what Airhammer said, what if you could select between knockback and knockdown at the tailor. When you are on the power customization screen, each power with KB could have two checkboxes, to select between KB and KD.

Would that be something everyone could agree with? Not that it would ever happen, you'd have to have checkboxes for every aspect of the power or at least every powers secondary effect, and that would be a nightmare to code, I'd imagine.

I guess this could be something to be thought about if the game was in beta, but it's way to late to change powers that have been around so long. Again, I don't want my post to be the cause of a flame war, should I report my post to get it deleted or just edit everything out?

I was thinking this also, new IO sets that incorporate knockback into the set, so you wouldn't lose your damage, accuracy, etc.

But still, I guess it would gimp people that want knockback in their powers before they start slotting sets.

I would pay for this to be real.

Also, sorry, I wasn't thinking about it causing problems with slotting. As usual, I shouldn't post while upset. Is there anyway I can delete this thread?
  12. Well, before it becomes flames, I am someone who doesn't mind knockback. This is just a change that might meet both sides halfway. This would also see knockback sets get more use than they do. I understand liking knockback, but I hate people whining about it constantly and getting kicked from teams because of it.

Edit: I don't come to the forums that often, so I wasn't aware this was a hot issue. Just ignore this and let it slip away. I'll just stop playing my blaster who was rolled in Issue 1 to appease the people that hate knockback..

Also, the people that come in an just say no, why no be constructive about why this would be a bad idea. I just want to play my damn hero without people ********!
  13. Can we get knockback magnitude lowered so it becomes knockdown? That way people that want it can slot for knockback.

Before people start posting that they rely on knockback for soloing, knockdown would be just as good for damage mitigation anyway.

Just something I wanted to throw out here, as I'm so very sick of people complaining about it in team. I know people are going to say to hover over the mobs, but that's still not very effective.

But once you conquer your endurance issues, you will be close to godly, even at SO levels.
I already have a DM/SR stalker, so that's a no go. I don't like playing the same powerset twice. You are right , leveling it was a little bit of a pain, but the payoff is wonderful once slotted up with sets. Such a fun character to play.

I'm thinking Regen will be nice for a single target scrapper that takes on a couple of higher level mobs, unlike the willpower which can jump into full spawns. This will be mostly a teaming character anyway, I prefer not to solo if I can't help it. I'm thinking KM/Regen, to try the new set.

Sorry if I brought up a subject that's beating a dead horse, I did look through the threads, but can never find anything with search. I'm sorry.
  15. Yup, that's what I wanted to know. Thanks to all of you, going to make my new Regen scrapper later today.

So Mid's is wrong then? It says that both sets get 498% regen with toggles, no click powers. What confused me is that Willpower jumped up to 946% with RttC surrounded by it's 10 mobs max.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know.
  18. Hey all, first off this isn't a whine, just an honest question to those that are more knowledgeable than me.

I'm wanting to make a new scrapper and decided on Regen since I already have a Willpower. After playing around with it in Mid's Designer, I'm seeing that they both have the same regeneration. This is with just 50 IOs, not sets. Am I missing something? Willpower would have even higher regeneration with RttC being surrounded by mobs, and has defense, resists, and -regen defense.

I'm not factoring in Instant Healing, since it's not up all the time. Is that really all Regen has going for it, waiting for IH to be up? Again, I'm not whining or trying to start a fight, I'm just confused.
  19. Hey all, just came back recently to get ready for GR. I've noticed that when I open the combat attribute window, the numbers bounce around and reappear/disappear at random. It make reading the window a painful experience. It did do this before last time I played. Anyone have any info on this? I searched but had no luck.
