If by overlapping PA you mean more than three decoys at a time, you can't do that. Any decoys you already have out automatically despawn when you cast PA again.
[/ QUOTE ]
I did not expect to be able to get more than three decoys at a time. If the recharge is fast enough, though, then I have room to play with when the time's almost up. If the PA drops for half a second, that's enough time that I could get blasted by an entire mob. By having it recharged before they go away, I can ensure that I don't have a lapse.
Does this still sound like a good plan, or is this over the top like Challenger?
And by the way, thanks for all the advice so far everyone. -
Another note: I don't really need powerboost. I don't have heals. If someone's dying, it's not my problem. I've got two AoE holds that are well slotted, plus a single target hold.
If mids is right, then I'm not sacrificing anything by going all for recharge bonuses. The intended build has everything recharging so fast that I hold everything all the time, and have an army of decoys always throwing down damage on enemies with debuffed resistance. Spectral Wounds will be recharged by the time it's done animating, and Blind is almost that fast as well.
A no lapse attack chain will be blind, spectral wounds, blind, spectral wounds... etc. Use anything else any time you want and there's never any dead time. -
Yes, the idea is to get perma (and if at all possible overlapping) Phantom Army. I have AM and hasten, and you're right about AM, I forgot about that. I was wondering why I never seemed to get mezzed for very long...
Doesn't Indomitable Will prevent mez? That would keep my debuff toggles from dropping. -
... on to the next mission? Aside from the failure text, does it still send you on to the next mission without any consequences? When the objective is failed, does it kick you out of the mission?
I was wondering because I want to design a comedy arc in which you fail most, if not all, of the missions. -

I used it to lock my 49.9-level character until friends could get online and join me for hitting 50 on a Statesman Task Force. I was excited about playing the character and wanted to keep playing even though my friends weren't yet available. Turning off exp let me have the best of both worlds; got to keep playing and earning cash, then got to ding 50 on the Task Force final fight.

Very nice. I've only hit 50 with one character so far, and it was a momentous occasion. I didn't know about the XP option, but I managed to time it just right so that my ding was the direct result of a fulcrum shifted damage capped nova. I want all my 50th dings to be that awesome, but I doubt anything can live up to that. -
I didn't know that Indomitable Will allowed defense sets. Mez protection would be amazing... I'm still kinda new to the set IO things.
I'm assuming tornado is more useful than fissure too.
I think I'll go that route... now I need to do another respec trial... crap. -
Yes. In the settings change all the colors to your defaults, and you can even hide the chest emblem.

Get a character lvl 7-10 and turn off xp. Then enter AE, for the tickets.
Bronze rolls on 10-14 to get Steadfast KB prot and Karma KB Protects. Now you futer Fire armor Tanks, Brutes, and Scrappers can have KB protect at level 7. Or any AT with Combat Jump at lvl 7+ can have KB Protect.

I think I'll do this with my new Scraps of Time character. -

8 MM ITF. The second video. The LRSF has been done with 8 MMs as well.
In similar news I took my team of 6 Thug/Storm MMs on the Imperious Task Force. On the third mission we were on Lag Hill. I summoned 6 Tornados, 6 Lightning Storms, 6 Hurricanes and 6 Gang Wars. The mission froze, kicked us out, reset, and anyone who leveled during that mission unleveled. All experience, Infamy and items that were found on that mission were lost.

I have to watch this when I get home from work. -
I'm thinking Earth Mastery for two powers: Fissure and Rock Armor.
Fissure lets me add kinetic crash IO set for recharge bonus.
Rock armor lets me add one more LoTG recharge.
Good idea? Bad idea? -
At level 41 on one mastermind and 19 on another, I have never needed personal attacks.
But that's probably because I'm immersed in the role of giving orders and standing there like a menacing evil person. -
Just a question of curiosity, has anyone tried this?
I know that with two MMs on a team, the maps can get pretty crowded, but imagine three or more Pain Domination regen auras feeding pets on bodyguard mode. I can't believe anyone would put up with 48 pets running around (more if there were some necro/*, */dark, or thugs/*). It'd be crazy with all different kinds, but it gets even stranger if they're all the same summon types.
Can you imagine the chaos if 8 thug MM's all hit gang war at the same time?
8 assault bots laying down burn patches?
16 smokeflashed ninjas... maybe they couldn't all get close enough to the AV?
Oh the possibilities...
Could a team like this complete ITF? How about Lord Recluse's SF? How would a pack like this fair in PVP? -
OK, it all makes sense now, thanks!
-
Maybe I'm hallucinating, but I swear I saw an option for "Earn XP" as if someone would want to turn it off.
Why would you want to turn off advancement?
Do you get any bonus influence like when you're exemplared?
Is it just for people to tweak out a level xx build for running yy TF? -
Well, I'm certainly glad to hear I'm not alone. Obviously all the people spending time on the forums are CoX's best players, so this is comforting news.
And I've heard a lot of great UI handling ideas! Thanks everyone. -

... and I swear I think someone installed Windows ME on one of my prot bots when I wasn't looking.
[/ QUOTE ]
The prot bots collide with their summoned seeker drones quite often and need to be "recall friended" to get unstuck usually. It's something that's already fixed in the i15 beta.
And for the record, it's actually Vista. -
Ok, so can anyone give me a typical ill/rad build that's not too expensive (read: No purples) but has perma PA?
Perma AM would be nice too. -
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Inventio...nt_Set_Bonuses
Look at the Law of Fives. You would get a level 40 set bonus on a level 50 character, but not if you already have five of that set. -
You can't edit the custom critter levels.
Yet. -
Ok, thanks! Both the article and Aett's explanation helped a lot.
I always wondered why my defense values seemed relatively "low" when I wasn't getting hit very often.
This is a little off topic, but since all these inventions have been added, has it really gimped SR in comparison to the other defense sets? It looks like you'll be able to cap defense with sets and still have resistance from powers as an invulnerability scrapper as opposed to just capped defense as a SR scrapper. -
I see the term being thrown around, particularly in regards to defense. What is a soft cap and where did it come from? I gather that the defense cap is 45%, does that mean everything has a 45% chance to miss? If you get your defense to the soft cap, can other buffs from teammates make you even harder to hit? Can your own powers raise you above the cap? Seems to me like Super Reflexes is very underpowered because of this. Does it apply to pets as well?
Why is the defense cap so much lower than the resistance cap (85%?)? -
All I can say is what I have has worked so far. Please note that my MM is only level 41, and I haven't gone one on one with any AV's, so I'm not sure of his survivability there.
I don't have any doubts, but I still can't say for sure. -
I'm not sure how relevant it will be, but I play a bots/ff mastermind and I rarely lose my bots. I run the difficulty level 5 and I don't even have any invention sets (I just started playing again a month ago). My general strategy is set bots to aggressive, sit back and watch things die. I don't do much, so I don't draw a lot of aggro. Of course, if I do, I just pop my panic-button personal force field.
I think I owe my survival to stacking defense. I tried to build my character to stack as much defense as I could. I use maneuvers and dispersion bubble, as well as slot my protector bots for defense buff. Between those three, it rarely even seems necessary to use the single target force fields.
You didn't mention using the shield drone. I'm not familiar with traps, does it have one? If I were you, I would invest in that power, as the stacking defense really pays off. -
Last I played was before inventions, so I'm still getting the hang of things. My old 'troller was even from pre-ED days so it had six slot recharge hasten+AM. That used to be enough to have perma-everything. Back then, my AoE hold lasted four times as long as it recharged. I had three phantasms trailing me wherever I went. Those were the days.
Anyway, I'm looking to at least get my phantom army back into permanent status, and I'm not sure how much recharge bonus I need. I have two sets now that boost recharge and I haven't noticed a difference in the numbers in the power details. The recharge bonuses are 6 and 5%, so I should be able to see at least a 10% time discount on everything. Do these bonuses not show up in the details?
With all the bonuses available, will I be able to drop hasten and still be able to perma my phantom army?
I don't normally keep confuse powers, but the utility can be nice, and I've five slotted deceive so I can fit an invention set to add a time bonus. It still feels like a sacrifice to me. Do I need to slot my powers like this to hit the perma mark? Is it worth doing this kind of thing?
How about with Luck of The Gambler global bonus? No illusion controller would be complete without Superior Invisibility, but is it worth picking up Group Invisibility, Hover, Combat Jumping, and perhaps even Maneuvers, to fit as many defensive buff set accepting powers as I can? -
It's funny you mention that, because I've been running it a few times now, and with groups it got INSANELY HARDER. I've since changed one of the boss spawns to make things a little more manageable.
There was a boss that would regularly spawn that's a gravity control/invulnerability contanker. He is now just a tank with DPS.
A defender might run into trouble, depending on the powersets. My kin/NRG can actually solo it on the first two difficulties. I don't think a blaster could do it.
