Well, duh. This has already been mentioned as the next thing and likely very soon.
But other than that? I think more story advancement is what we need. Power customization gave us one of the most requested things in the history of the game, and I'm very grateful for it.
The next thing I want is some more plot, and perhaps some more endgame content. Even this has been talked about as "in the pipeline" though.
I haven't been on a Reichsman T/SF yet, but I understand it did a good job of making you want different ATs on your team. I'd like to see more of that.
We're at a point where we can make an incredible challenge for soloing (+4/x8 spawns), but I want to see something that's incredibly challenging for teams now. This kind of goes with my last point. I'd like to see something where a superteam of 8 controllers or 8 corruptors would have a tough time, but a well balanced team would do well.
I know the game wasn't made more difficult with the advent of IO's, but I'd like to see some of it become more difficult. Something that expects or even requires IO's to be able to complete. -
Quote:Do you mind not babbling nonsense? Seriously, some punctuation and proper capitalization would work wonders for you.afraid?they just didnt give a **** about the game anymore.
yes ,paragon did more good then cryptic after CoV ,but you cant compare a few good issues to 2 games[the game you playing right now]and also some good issues.
and Paragon are also ''afraid'' ,why we still cant go to the rogue isles as a hero and to paragon city as a villain ,why we still have blue walls that destroy your RP ,why do we still have a realy long loading screens?and why they decided to simply kill the korean grind[aka regular content]and replace it with the MA?isn't it more easy to just to buff the XP?
there is muce more work to do in the game.
My point is that CoH and CoV are more due to the work that the people of Paragon have done, not Cryptic. Cryptic just happened to be the owner at the time, not the sole source of awesome that created the game.
Paragon isn't afraid of those changes. Going Rogue is in the works, heroes will be able to go to the Isles and vice versa.
I don't have long loading screens, sounds like an issue on your end. Get a better connection or a better rig.
The rest of your post isn't worth responding to. -

Quote:Quit bragging, I'm still at work!My brute hasn't been challenged by any solo missions for a long time now. I just cranked my virtual team size up to 8 and tried to tackle a mission overflowing with Longbow. After a pitched fight in a room packed with enemies shoulder to shoulder, a Warden boss Total Focused my villain butt. I think I was in three overlapping Sonic Grenades at the time so the damage was rather impressive.

I haven't had this much fun solo in a while. I'll have to actually use tactics now! Woo-hoo!
I can't wait to see what it actually takes to kill my bots/traps. -
Quote:Paragon made a lot of the changes Cryptic was either afraid to or didn't want to that has truly made this game what it is.you compare a issue[a few of them]made by Paragon to CoH and CoV[and alot of issues]from cryptic?
Also, most of what Cryptic "accomplished" was largely due to the work of those who remained at Paragon. -

Quote:Unfortunately, I'm hardcore into the concept of this character, which is a natural origin, naturally strong guy. So no hasten. No travel powers at all in fact. Not a big deal, especially considering the availability of jetpacks. It does give me plenty of room for extra powers... of course, there aren't too many I need. Not sure what to do with a bunch of extra slots/powers.You could do that, but there are better attack chains for Super-Strength than using Footstomp on Single targets. KO Blow-Gloom-Haymaker-Punch-Haymaker is possible with 250+ Recharge in KO Blow (That's global, hasten, and enhancements). You might not want to start a fight off with KO on low fury, but after you have built up 50%+ there is no reason to hold back.
**edit** You can squeeze plenty of recharge in SS/WP. That's one of the possible build goals. Hit points are a universal goal. Usually builds diverge when it comes to going for heavy recharge, or typed defense bonuses. It's hard to have both at extremes. You can have a mix, but you won't get the 250% recharge into KO for the maximum damage string. You don't need recharge at such levels to be competitive though. Though there is something nice about KO recharging in 7 seconds on average.
I had this silly idea of using the kinetic combats and building with a ton of +movement just so no one can keep up while I smash things without movement suppression.
Since you say there's pretty much two ways to build a SS/WP brute (recharge or defense, but always health first), I'm guessing I'd be better off going for defense since I'm avoiding hasten. Maybe it's viable to build for a mixture of recharge and damage bonuses? -
Quote:I don't think they've been handed out yet because I saw someone was complaining about the costume tokens not here yet.Does anybody know if they have handed these out yet? I'm at work and was caught kind of flat-footed with this release, and I haven't had a chance to use my old respecs yet...
Use it quick! -

Quote:100% agree. I think that's where scrapperlock comes from, to be honest. The fact that they're not needed in addition to the self sufficiency leads them to go off on their own.Scrappers and brutes are the most well-rounded ATs. They do very well solo.
However, Scrappers are not necessary for teams. Blasters outdamage them (both single target and AoE, especially considering they have Build Up and Aim). Tankers are tougher and control aggro much better. Controllers, corruptors and defenders bring the debuffs required to take down large numbers of mobs and AVs efficiently. Dominators and controllers bring the mezzes that keep the team safer.
Personally, I find scrappers the least interesting to play on teams. The ranged ATs often kill my targets before I can close to attack. I'm also prone to scrapperlock, but only when I play scrappers. It's weird.
Scrappers are the only AT that isn't the best at anything -- even soloing. I find brutes solo better than scrappers.
That's not to say that they're worthless -- they're the most balanced overall. But you rarely need a scrapper on a team. -

Thanks an überton for all the work you put into this.

Quote:I want to say something along the lines of "DAMN YOU AND YOUR LOGIC" but I would like to think I know better. For me to disprove the above, all I need to do is produce a build that is good at soloing single hard targets but poor at destroying several soft targets at once - and I can. But I think we are now agreed that the two activities are sufficiently different as to be orthogonal.
I should have recognized the outrageous claim my first post made. -
Quote:I admit it was a little "toot my own horn," but I was just trying to make the point that, just because you can solo a GM, it doesn't make you useless against swarms of mobs. You seem to be under the impression that I've said something I haven't. These are exactly the things I have said:
- Scrappers are well-served by the options available in IOs.
- I don't see things getting any better than they are now for Scrappers.
- GM soloing and general PvE use different tools.
At no point did I actually say that Scrappers are "the best" or that they are "broken", which is what you seem to be trying to refute. Good on your Bots/Traps, by the way - I don't see things getting any better for Masterminds than they are now, either.
Said another way, the two are not mutually exclusive, which is the feel I got from your post. Somehow I read your post as saying "you can either exceed scrapper killing potential or solo GMs, not both." I apologize for reading into it more than I should have. -
Quote:Mostly because - until now - they didn't let us set the spawns for 8 while solo.If someone wants to go fight in separate room from the rest of the team, then why join a team in the first place?
And it will continue to happen because no scrapper, not even an MM with six pets, can start Task/Strike Force on his own... -

Quote:I run bots/traps, which is more than capable of soloing both GMs and +4/x8 spawns. I don't have any single target debuffs, my AoE regen debuff is also a hold, my caltrops do knockdown and have five damage procs, my acid mortar does AoE -resist and -def AND has an achilles heel proc, the assbot spawns a burn patch for each mob it hits, and the icing on the cake is that my bots are softcapped to everything, and I'm softcapped to ranged/AoE. Oh, and since each bot and I have separate aggro caps, I can walk through a map and actually herd everything.Yes, because single target debuffs (especially regeneration debuffs) and damage have exactly the same value against a single AV or GM over the course of 30 minutes as they do against 16 minions, lieutenants, and bosses over the course of ten seconds.
More seriously, yes, I'm well aware that certain builds of other ATs can meet or exceed Scrapper performance in general PvE. That doesn't change the fact that Scrappers (and Brutes) collectively are well-served by the build and challenge options available. The reason I consider this the golden age of the Scrapper is not so much because I necessarily expect things to get worse as because I don't see a realistic way for things to get better. Right now is a great time for characters with good AoE damage and moderate (enhanceable to excellent) survivability.
I'm loving the changes too. I think I'm going to farm -1/x8 for a week straight before I even TOUCH the color customization. -
Trust me, anything that can solo a GM can kill mobs just as quickly, if not more so, than the scrapper.

Quote:Those have been there.I was playing around with the character creator this morning and noticed a couple of costume sets I don't recall seeing before. While it may be my poor memory, I suspect we do have these as new sets.
The first I noticed was Lowlander.
The second I noticed was Mobster. -

Quote:Bloody fixed. I hate when this happens. So I thought this might be a fun thread.
Come up with a cute/funny/whatever slogan for your "favorite" villain group.
I came up with one for CoT last night on a radio team when I went to get a mission and I realized I could choose from CoT, CoT, or....CoT.
Malta: For when all your other choices are Malta.
So, what's yours?
