Dechs Kaison becomes so vocal about his favorite sets that both Dark Armor and Warshades receive heavy "downward balance adjustments."

Quote:Hey, don't forget to frankenslot. You can put four Expedient Reinforcement in Extract Essence and then put two from the purple set, including the proc. That gets you the important recharge bonus AND gets better enhancement out of the purple set and gets a build up proc.Ill look into the purp set, but Ill have to see if that takes away from my perma eclipse.
Oh, and you can get 7.5% recharge out of four slots of Basilisk's Gaze if you put that in Gravity Well. Add two common damage enhancements on the end and you're still keeping the damage of the power. -
Quote:My deepest apologies. Here's what I'd do with that:May want to re-read the first post, you know.. The one where I posted a build based on the powers I like to use, and asked for guidance and help to optimize it from there.

Quote:That's really odd. I'm sure I've been doing STFs since i16 and I've never had him summon banes before the nuke thing. Dark Armor's isn't an autohit taunt aura either. I spam taunt on him and I stand near a tower, though. Could the gauntlet effect from my taunt aura and AoE's on the tower be stopping him from summoning? Before issue 18 LR would summon Banes anytime he was aggroed unless something interrupted him. Anchoring a debuff would interrupt his summon so that he didn't use it and you didn't end up hip deep in Bane bosses. Autohit tanker auras would also work for this purpose as long as you never got out of melee with him.
I've noticed that since i18 hit he no longer summons Banes until the pet nuke at 20%; I don't know if this is intentional or if it's a bug. On the other hand, prior to i18 he never used his end drain attack in melee either like he does now. On the whole I'd rather have him summon Banes and not use that end drain since it's easier to prevent the summon than to prevent the end drain.
Given the choice, I think I'd chose the banes myself, despite the fact that I don't notice his end drain attack at all. It might be nice to have some food lingering around for my Dark Regeneration. -
Your build's link doesn't appear to be working, could you post a data chunk?
Just from looking at the build, this is what sticks out:
Armageddon would be better placed in a power that you use often. I like to use Quasar about every time it's up myself, but I would put Armageddon in the Dwarf Mire. That power does some very hefty AoE damage and with the recharge you likely have, you can stack its buff on top of itself.
I'd slot Unchain Essence as a damage power, you can get the same recharge bonus out of another set of Positron's blast and deal a lot more damage with it. The stun chance is only 50% per mob, and the damage chance is 100%.
Dark Nova doesn't need that kind of slotting. I'm not aware of the set bonuses that slotting gives you, but Dark Nova itself is really only benefiting from the endurance reduction. The tohit buff is completely unnecessary. With all the accuracy bonuses you have, you shouldn't need the extra tohit. It only gets you another ~4% tohit, and Sunless Mire gives you that per target. Move those slots to somewhere that'll do more good, like Dwarf Mire.
I don't know how much you value the Expedient Reinforcement unique, but I promise that you'll get more mileage out of the purple pet set build up proc. -
Quote:Two things. I checked the numbers and I do only get 50% of my health off of one target. It just always seems to be "enough," so it may as well be a full bar.Just out of curiosity, how are you getting DR to give you a full heal on Recluse? It's what, ~33% heal (of base hp) without slots? You'd need to hit at least two targets, and you'd only reliably be able to hit a Tower (Recluse has capped defense until the Orange Tower was down).
Unless, of course, you don't anchor a debuff on him and allow him to summon Banes throughout.
Second, what's this about anchoring a debuff to prevent bane summons? I ... never have a debuff anchored on him. I tell the team to anchor all debuffs on the towers in order to bring them down faster. I've never seen him summon banes before about 5% health. -
I'd grab the defense.
Recharge, as a function, is subject to diminishing returns. Unless you're shooting for enough recharge to pump out a specific attack chain or make some particular clicky power permanent (hasten, Phantom Army, Eclipse), then I wouldn't bother trying to grab every scrap you can.
Defense, on the other hand, provides more benefit as you add more. Your survivable DPS increases by larger amounts per each additional point. I've got a guide in my signature that details this process and some of the math behind it. For more thorough number crunching, look up Arcanaville's guide to defense. -
Quote:Protip: Dark Armor's heal is flagged unresistable.Hami isn't like other enemies. The only way to contend with damage from him is with EoE insps. He floors your regen and makes it so you can't be healed. If Hami aggs to you and you have no EoEs and can't get away fast enough, you will die regardless of AT and what powers you have.
He still generally does enough damage to drop you, but it takes a while. One Soul Transfer and by then your team has him dead. -
Quote:This.Well, the only real problem with 3D, that I see, is that people can't seem to get past the 3D gag reflex. By this I mean intentionally shoving things in your face because "Ohhhhh, look! 3D!" The only movie to avoid this was Avatar, which just shot a movie that happened to be 3D and it looked great. All other movies rely on gags that aren't necessary.
Amazing 3D is Avatar. That was done right. The scenery around the edge was popping out, but the stuff in the middle (characters and whatnot) was just there. It really contributed to a sense of actually "being there." I felt like I was on Pandora, and if I could have just ignored the anti-technology agenda of the movie, I'd have to say it was the best thing I've seen in years.
Bad 3d is "Big gimmick in your face!" -
Quote:I already gave you one. AlienOne's guide has eleven example builds. They don't have inherent fitness, though, so you'll have to think a little bit. Move those slots to the inherent fitness, and pick three bonus powers to leave with the default slot. Maybe make them set mules. Maybe rework slotting elsewhere to add slots to your bonus powers.Still keeping an eye out in the hopes of posts relating to actual builds/slotting.
I don't like AlienOne's builds, but considering I've seen him solo +4/x8 Arachnos, I have to say there's nothing wrong with them. That's part of warshades, though. There's no one way to build. My guide briefly talks about slotting, but it's from the point of view of a tri-form. I don't believe handing out builds helps anyone, which is why I don't include any. The way I build my warshade is the best warshade for me. The best one for you will be different.
The most common goal for any warshade, though, is recharge. Recharge is what leads to permanent Eclipse, as well as more damage. Most ATs build recharge as a way to be more offensive, but Warshades gain survivability as well, which makes it a universally beneficial goal.
That's all I got for you. There's information out there, I've shown you where to find it. I encourage you to make up a build based on the powers you like to use and post it. There are plenty of us who will offer guidance and help you optimize it from there. We can't help you if you won't help yourself. -
From my guide:
Quote:Repeat the following mantra ad nauseam: "Must find more bodies, must find more bodies, must find more bodies..."
...
Few people seem to like self rez powers, but Stygian Return is one I love. It gives you ten seconds of untouchable status. If you thought "But it needs enemies to work!" just now, shut up. You are The MFing Warshade. Go back and repeat your mantra some more times. You should always be drowning in enemies. If you aren't using this power every time it's up, you haven't found enough bodies yet. -
Quote:Bah! Stoner's got nothing on Dark Armor. Every MoSTF attempt I've done with my DA has been without an emp, and I've yet to be the reason an MoSTF fails at Lord Recluse.* I take one column of T3 purples and one column of T3 oranges. I use both while the team takes the blue tower down, then just the oranges while the red is being taken down. This, folks, is wisdom.
My inv is ridiculous: With one guy in range I'm at 52 percent. I did that to soak debuffs, but on LR it make's a very noticeable difference.
And he'll STILL plant ya if he gets a lucky roll in. I've seen truly MONSTER stoners drop in seconds, so fast the emp that was supporting them couldn't get a heal off.
Tower-buffed LR is no joke.
I think it helps that my DA can heal to just about full every 16 seconds.
*Don't get me wrong. Tower buffed LR has killed me, and it's usually because I'm not using oranges (I have a problem "throwing away" inspirations). It's just never been on an MoSTF. -
My video was recorded with WeGame (free), and the movie was put together with Sony Vegas (not usually free). Vegas lets you do a lot more with video than Windows Movie Maker, but I doubt it's worth the investment (if you plan to actually buy it).

Arcanaville fhtagn!
I think that works. She should be here any minute. -

Traps/sonic defender.
Dark/sonic defender.
Rad/sonic defender.
Traps/sonic defender.
Cold/sonic defender.
Traps/sonic defender.
In that order of preference. I think. -

Quote:Just ran an MoSTF this weekend, and I had not noticed this change. Granted, I run Dark Armor, so end drain doesn't affect me.He never use to use his ranged attack ( the one that causes massive end drain ) in melee so often. He now uses it in his melee attack chain every time it is up which causes toggle loss then death.
I think this is the part where I go "Neener neener poo poo." -
Ah, so you've met Cheaty McCheaterson. Yeah, even my DA tank uses one huge purple inspiration to survive Recluse while the team knocks down the blue tower.
If you're used to fighting at the softcap, keep in mind that you need 75% defense to be effectively softcapped to Lord Recluse. On top of that, he has -def in some attacks. I've seen him give a quick one-two punch to many a tank since the first one debuffs so much defense that the second one is a guaranteed hit. -

Seriously? What's different? What might have changed between AlienOne's guide and i19?
Dwarf form can be activated as a break free, and the inherent carries over into forms. You don't care because you're staying human only.
You get fitness for free now. This is a legitimate difference... so pick three new powers. Even if you don't move slots around, pick three set mules for LotG +Rech. -
Quote:If you're not lazy, then put something together, and we'll help from there. Generally, none of us want to do all the work for you, at least not for free.... but in return theres always some idiots who start to think the opposite about others and see them as lazy, and thats not the case.
Considering that budget doesn't matter to you, I'll go ahead and offer my standard rate. For a small payment of one billion inf, I will make a build to your specifications. Guaranteed performance. For an idea of what my builds can do, follow the link in my sig for what I've done with Dark Armor. -
If you're a tri-former, then I can help a bit. I wrote a tri-form guide which includes a bit of slotting tips, but I don't include builds.
In this thread, there are a few good triform builds posted. They're not built with inherent fitness, but none of them have fitness anyway, so they work just fine.
If you're a human only kind of warshade, I suggest you look through AlienOne's guide and his builds. I haven't checked to see if he updated them for inherent fitness, but it wouldn't be too hard to take a few extra powers in place of where he chooses fitness. Hell, take the concealment pool for some extra places to put LotG +rech IOs.
