Next week somewhere I shall put up a summary for this year's battle. I will also see if the CoH Group on DA will accept a summary in the form of a journal or something, so we can still look at it incase the forum dissapears. -
Anyone else want to vote?
Give me your favourite and your runnerup favourite. Really..that's all it takes! -
Less then a day left to vote!
-
Thanks Liz! It has been an honor to run it this year. And I was really hoping there would be another one next year. I'm still hoping...
Otherwise..perhaps we could run it through the DA group... who knows.
If anyone sees my hiney..please return it as it makes sitting so much more comfortable. Thanks!
Still two days to vote!
@Leo_Darkheart: I cannot pick a runnerup for you, dear. Unless you come up with one yourself, I can't count your vote as it is incomplete. -
Like Neko.. I do not want to think about it... and still it happens... what would I do?
I'd probably finally get my pc upgraded to 64bit Windows7 so I can use more RAM to make art.
Maybe get some more writing done.
Also... I'd put up (more) CoH posters and art and whatever I can find in my computer/hobby room. Not that I'd forget about it otherwise, though. But I like visual pictures to go with my memories.
But Bubba... what would YOU do? -
I would! .... if I was in the neighbourhood.
The Netherlands...is not quite in the neighbourhood, I'm afraid.
I'll raise a glass from here.
Have fun you all! -
This hero has not lost hope just yet!
But that is one awesome hopeful rumor indeed. Makes me feel we're not alone out here. That many people are trying to save Paragon City. *looks content*
We won't go down without a fight! -
So, that was one shocking weekend, wasn't it...
But now I'm getting ready for action. New missions have been announced to attempt to save Paragon City now it needs us the most.
Please help SAVE PARAGON CITY, if you're not already on it.
Also, don't forget to sign the petitions:
Keep NCSoft from shutting down City of Heroes!
Open source the code for City of Heroes/Villains
Even if you think it won't work. Try anyway. Don't go down without a fight.
Afterall...one who never tries will never succeed.

I'd be willing to add my not-so-usual-anymore subscription that was meant for the game into the fund instead. I calculated that into my finances anyway.
If every player would do that... that alone should raise a nice amount, right?
Also, I'm doing what I can to let people know about their new mission: Save Paragon City.
Huge hugs for TonyV for starting this mission. -
We're happy to have you guys 'n gals around for as long as possible, redsies! *hugs*.
I may be asking a silly question here, but will the forums go down when/if the game is being plugged too?
If the game can't be saved.... can atleat the forum be saved? -
An actual FINAL battle indeed *pouts with deep sadness in her eyes*
@American Knight: I'll need a runner up to be able to count your opinion as a vote. Thanks! -
Ladies and Gentlemen it's time to vote for the last time (this year, anyway)!
Voting will last for 1 week after this post.
Please keep discussions in this thread, thank you!
Write down your favourite TWO (or three) in a reply on this post, starting with your favourite, then the runner up.
Don't worry, you don't have to have any artistic knowledge. Only an opinion.
You may, but don't have to, explain why you voted the way you did.
Thanks alot!
August's theme was: FOUR SEASONS
This is a multipanel must-be or some other way to show it, as I want to see all seasons in one submission!
Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
Seasons are not quite yet part of the City of Heroes realm, but that doesn't mean we can't use it in CoH related art!
Influence prizes for this month:
1st place: 200 million influence in-game
2nd place: 100 million influence in-game
3rd place: 50 million influence in-game
Bonusprize:
The winner in this final will win a head/bust drawing by the one and only David Nakayama (aka Noble Savage) of a City of Heroes related character chosen by the winner!!
-
@Freitag: Thanks! We try
.
@Blue_Centurion: The FArt Battle has been running all year. Entering the battle was due in March so actually submitting something to have a chance at a David Nakayama drawing was out of the question anyway
However.. you will get a chance to officially vote for your favourite (that goes for everybody)!
I'll need atleast a 1st and 2nd choice.
Stay tuned..as the link to the voting thread will be up shortly! -
You have untill midnight to submit your entry, Tartyr
-
And here is Leaf-nin's piece!
Quote:Spring
name: Daphney Ivey
CoX name: Cyanide Daphne (Virtue)
VV info: [link]
Daphne was the second character I ever created in game and the first time I've drawn her.
Summer
name: Gwynn Mannanan
CoX Name: Purple Wrench (Virtue)
Gwynn is one of my newest characters, a war mace/fiery aura brute.
Autumn
name: Stanley McGee
CoX name: Lacey Panties (Virtue)
Yes, Lacey is a drag queen. Lacey is absolutely one of my favorites to draw because I can put her in pretty much anything wild and crazy.
Winter
name: Cassandra Staci Winters
CoX name: Triple Lutz Shot (Virtue)
Cassie was formerly a figure skater, an Olympic hopeful until her mutation manifested and covered the Olympic trials in a sheet of ice. -
Here's something cute and fluffy for yah!
-
Made it! Well.. made SOMEthing
For info: I know, it's not all drawn, unfortunately. I did plan to do so. As I'm in the middle of a big move, I simply don't have the time, but I wanted to come up with SOMEthing as I have done that thoughout the whole battle. I did paint/made the main things though (like the flowers, leaves, snow borders, Liberty Girl, Amerikatt, Sidekick Sam). Just not the backgrounds.
Mind that picture/screenshot manipulation does not count in this battle. Backgrounds may be added, but be sure to credit the right people/stuff for it. The main things have to be done by the artists themselves. -
You.. .forgot?? *looks shocked* It should be in your system by now!
You still have time, though -
Thanks Henri!
@Fireheart: I don't know exactly why it takes that long, truth be told. I suppose it's more to cover their own a...eh.. behinds incase something goes wrong. I've worked for an internetprovider and there seem to be all kinds of technical (software) processes that need to be done before they will actually connect an address to the DSL internetz. Silly, really.
And there's also something with "Opt Out", which takes a week itself. A week with nothingness. A week for the customer to change his/her mind without financial consequences. *rolls eyes*
Oh well. I've not moved in yet, so there is time. Loads to do first. Luckily I can stay where I am (with internet
) till my new place is ready.
But indeed putting the stuff in place..that takes quite the time! *giggles*
Though.. it's also the fun part, I suppose. As most of the heavy work is then done.
@Sapphic Neko: That's a horrorstory! I sure hope the delivery of my internet will go smoothly *looks worried*.
I've seen the wires for DSL and they are intact and installed in the... eh.. cupboard? The cable for broadband is installed in the livingroom. Also ready to go as soon as I would have a modem, but I'd rather wait a few weeks and save lots of money then have internet in a week and pay double because when we take broadband here... we HAVE to take television too (it's on the same cable, or something). And I don't want that as I hardly ever watch anyway. *shrugs*. Weird system...
Hmm.. atleast you only payed for one... but still that is just silly. 3 months to repair some wires?? Hell, I think even I could have done it faster!
-
Good to hear my stories are actually read *giggles*
Now, something else... I may be less online for the time being as I'm in the middle of a move. I'm moving back to the north of NL (which is about 130 km from where I am now) so that may take up most of my time.
The internetconnection in my new place won't be active untill halfway September somewhere (yeah, it takes about 4 weeks to set up an internetconnection in NL (with DSL that is, cable can go in a week, maybe two, but is double the price too)).
But I will, somehow, be there when the FArt Battle deadline is up of course. It is my duty! Hopefully I can squeeze in a few more hours to finish what I started for the final theme, otherwise I'll just put up what I got sofar.
Anyhow, till soon!

Hey Knight Angel.
I think you'ld be better off just asking this question to the NCsoft Support Team. You may want to change the region first though.
Sorry can't help you otherwise. Good luck!
