Quote:While his arrival was a bit too late to make the Nostalgia Critic's list of Top Eleven Disney Villains, "Friends on the Other Side" did make his Top 11 Villain Songs list.Side Note: If Dr. Felicier isn't elevated to a Triple A villain in the Disney-verse, I will riot. All by myself.
Best villain they've ever written.

Quote:Thirded!TL;DR: A huge 'THANK YOU' needs to go out to Paragon Studios and NCSoft as part of our tradition of giving thanks this Thanksgiving week for all of their dedicated efforts towards CoH and Going Rogue this year; I have MUCH to be thankful for as a result of their incredible efforts!
Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Quote:This one has the potential to be seriously amazing, even if I do say so myself. But because it's going to be balls-to-the-wall fast, I need to script out scenes very carefully.Well, the music video for "(Do You Want to Date My) Avatar" was simply smashing, so seeing another music video would be great.

Report them by clicking on their names and selecting "Ignore as Spammer..." This directs the complaint to a specific location to get the account investigated (and usually closed) as quickly as possible.
When enough people do it, I've seen the occasional GM stealth through and start 'disappearing' folks. So stay proactive and report as appropriately (and honestly).

I do want to do that one as well, once I can convince Leandro that he really DOES want to do the voiceover for the MIMIP for me. And I've had about nine people offer to do the general voiceover work.
But wouldn't me doing a MIMIP ad count as a trailer for the game?
I SEE THROUGH YOUR PLANS, HAHA!

Next projects are CoVideoHell and a music video (and the band loved the idea, so yep I've got permission!).

Quote:Most if not all of these questions should be answered in the second film.Just went to see this with my family yesterday. Great movie. I haven't read any of the books beyond the second one, so I wouldn't know what they left out but I think the movie was well paced. Favorite part was when Dobby showed up with Creature. Elves seem crazy powerful and I'm wondering why more of them don't show up to try and fight Voldamort.
Does Voldamort show up when anyone says his name? I kinda figured, but my folks (who don't follow the movies or books that well) were wondering how he kept finding them so quickly. I tried to explain to them that's why most people just refer to him as 'you know who'. Harry especially, considering he was never afraid to say the name in the first couple of movies.

Damn, I wish it were next year already, I wanna remake my HP vid with all eight films.

Quote:Indeed, I have very clearly defined my online personality as 'that loudmouth schnook who makes videos.'The forums are obviously a lot different. I spend very little time on these boards, but people like Dark Respite and Steel Claw and Golden Girl are immediately recognizable, not only because of what they've done, but because they've illustrated their personalities so well.
Actually, now THERE'S a Sporcle quiz to make... famous forumites.

Quote:The I-11 trailer remains my personal favorite of the official non-CGI trailers. That was part informative, part cinematic, and all epic. I WANTED to play that issue! (Close second for coolness was the start of the I-10 trailer where the sky went green over Atlas and the voiceover starts, "The Vanguard were right..." They could have stopped THERE and I'd have wanted to play.)Some of the past official trailers have been decent. I personally liked the Issue 11 Stitch in Time and Issue 12 VEATS trailers, and not just because they had fancy voiceovers. They built them around an idea and used it to showcase the features of those issues.
Using stock sounds they could have made the Apex trailer look like a live news broadcast or some bystander camera-phone footage from Kings Row in the first seconds of the invasion. Or have a newschopper covering the Phalanx's failed battle at Terra Volta. Lots of ideas work, it's just a matter of someone at Paragon Studios having the time to do them.
As for someone at PS having the time, that's what official videographer (whom I've met) and his team are for. Granted, they've got to jump through whatever hoops Marketing makes them (and man do I feel sorry for them for that), and that's their single biggest leash. On the flipside, I've ASKED Marketing, "Hey, can you give me the same restrictions and wishlist you give the vid team so I can have a go?" They never answered me. Oh, well.
My advice? Someone else start a thread looking at the official trailers over the years, and tell Black Pebble about what KIND of trailers you guys want. Tell him you find the cinematic and the comic-book more appealing than just a feature list (although those are important, don't get me wrong). Give examples from the official vids of "now THIS made me want to play". If enough players speak up, hopefully you'll have a positive effect and the playerbase will get the videos it wants and that the game deserves.
But if you do, please, by all that's holy, nobody say a word in that thread about them hiring me. Just... don't. For me. Please.

Yep, sounds like you've got the same problem that several of us do (and I'm on a Radeon 5850). Clicking on Contacts, opening costumes, starting certain dialogues, etc, and ka-thunk.
We're trying to find what's causing the problem, so keep an eye on the threads in this section.Chin up!

In the spirit of Trading Places, I bet you 1 Inf that you won't be able to resist, and will make an I20 Trailer.
The Calvinball is now in your hockey tractor.Quote:*puts money down on hearing the shrieks from DR's section of the country come i20 open beta, followed by weeping and the sounds of an awesome trailer maker reaching for her gear one. more. time*
However, I intend to stand firm on this one. Issue awesomeness will not be enough to prompt my return to CoH trailerdom. If it's that awesome, someone else should be sufficiently inspired to make a trailer.

Quote:You actually hear them talking about Australia (which is where she sends them in the book), but like the book, she also makes them forget they had a daughter. She references that again later in the forest where she and her parents used to go camping.Oh i forgot about that first scene. That was one notable departure from the book that in the book didnt she send her parents to another country under thinking they were someone else rather then erasing herself.

Just got back from it, and I enjoyed it a lot. Managed to make the 'traipsing up and down the countryside' interesting and dramatic enough that it works, and nice to see the Unholy Threesome starting to really push their acting talents. (I'd gotten so used to seeing Rupert Grint as the comedic value of the three that watching him do bitter, angry, and despairing was almost astounding.)
Personally, though, I loved the very beginning scenes with Harry, Ron, and Hermione (hers in particular - not even five minutes in and I wanted to cry!). Those couple of minutes just so beautifully set up everything they're going to have to leave behind.

Quote:That one was a groundbreaker for me... and it was great fun having hubby and friends doing the voiceover work. And considering how much I've learned since then, part of me wants to go back and redo that video PROPERLY. Maybe one day...Hmm. I think I prefered your Original Incarnate video.

Quote:I have occasionally wondered just how many people I have either gotten into the game, gotten back into the game, or KEPT in the game with my videos, but I have no way of finding out. Sometimes folks post it on my YT channel (my personal favorite of all time was "I am cancelling my WoW account RIGHT NOW and buying COH"), but in general, no idea. (I'd love to know, though!)If this does not get people into CoH, then there is something seriously wrong with them!
I cannot understand why no one at Paragon Studios is knocking on your door, or even breaking it down to make you work for them! Ah well, thier loss.
I'd like to say as usual, great work, but I believe you have outdone yourself.

And thanks, by the way, for all of the compliments. I'm glad you guys liked it! I learned a few new tricks with this one, so I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with my upcoming projects.

Personally, I always saw Manticore, Back Alley Brawler, and Ms. Liberty as the poster children for Vigilante (before we actually had it). Sure, Posi, States, Psyche and Synapse are as foursquare heroic as you can get (pretty much), but Manticore is not. And considering Manticore is practically our version of Batman, anyone wanna say HE'S not a hero?
Dark, yes. Grim, yes. Blood on his hands, gallons. Hero? Absolutely.
And yes, Psyche knows. One of the most powerful psychics on the planet. And she loves him (God only knows why, the two always struck me as oil and water), so she accepts it. Maybe she fell back on that fallacy of "I can change him".
(This is of course just MY opinion - and it helps that in COH, I run in an SG where the group as a whole walks just shy of the line of Vigilante.)

How many folks actually accept inf for art? I may finally be able to afford it!

Tankers/Brutes/Lobster form khelds = pass blocking
Scrappers/SoAs = receivers
Widows/Stalkers = blitzers
Dominators/Defenders = defense
Controllers = coaches
Blasters/Corruptors = QB/kickers/punters
Masterminds = special teams
And catgurls as cheerleaders.

Brutes should be defensive linemen/linebackers for the same reason.
And think of how the Incarnate system could help... slot for accuracy, range, and perception. You'd have a PHENOMENAL quarterback, even with two Widows and a Stalker on you.

Also, to the OP, keep an eye on the Player Events section of the forums. Folks will sometimes organize RL events, some based around official events like the COH presentations at 'cons and whatnot, others just because they can.
(Your server forum is another good place to watch.)
For example, for HeroCon 2008 and 2009, in addition to all the partying with everyone who showed up, a large group on Justice made a point of hanging out en masse, going to breakfast or latenight food runs, partying at the hotel, etc.
