Saw it, loved it. And if there's a God, Alan Rickman should take home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

Happens to me ALL the time. The storylines of Andrea Blake and Sorina Tavarisch expanded in every direction at an almost exponential rate, in ways even I had no way of seeing coming, just by simple interactions with others or story arcs or whatnot. No one was more shocked than I was when Andrea (built SOLELY as an experiment for a dark/psi defender)'s history became as richly layered as it did. (Same goes for Sorina, who I'd just sort of created to fill in a gap in our SG.)
Then there's all the weirdness that Sorina's involved in with the whole TCOSR thing...

Some of mine...
- The heroes and villains we run into periodically in bank/mayhem missions? I'd occasionally like to see them go zooming across the zone and have them dash into the bank, and when you click on them, get messages like, "Sorry [PC NAME], but there's a robbery in progress and it's up to me to stop it!" (or villainside, "I got a bank to rob, kid, why not go steal a baby's candy or something more your level?")
- PEREZ PARK/THE HOLLOWS - "Gang War" - the warring factions in the zone are getting out of control, and the PPD/Longbow are being overrun. Intense pockets of fighting must be broken up for things to return to normal (mechanics - the Banners in the Deadly Apocalypse, but more than four occurrences).
- STRIGA/TALOS/IP and BOOMTOWN/STEEL - "Blitzkrieg" - the Council (Striga)/the Fifth (Boomtown) are making a massive push out of their constrained zones into Paragon City. Heroes must meet at certain zone points to slow them down. If the heroes beat them back, great - if not, the enemy makes inroads and appear in greater numbers further into the zone. If they make it all the way across, they start appearing in a random adjacent zone. To really make it annoying, major facilities in a besieged zone are shut down (stores, inspiration sellers, radio contacts) because of the Blitzkrieg.
- BRICKSTOWN - "Zig Breakout" - the Arachnos Flyer appears over Brickstown to 'break out' several villains. Heroes have to take out the Flyer before the Zig is overrun.
- EDEN - "Scorched Earth" - Longbow, with reluctant sanction from Freedom Corps, has decided to take back Eden using a Scorched Earth policy. In a reverse of the Firefighting missions in Steel, heroes actually START fires in Eden to bring the Devouring Earth under control.
- SHARKHEAD: "The Leviathan is stirring"... WAVES of Coralax or those things you fight in the Calystix the Shaper mission.
- INDEPENDENCE PORT: "Reactor Leak"... Radiation levels in Terra Volta are approaching dangerous levels - 8-man hero teams must head into the zone and plant 'restriction beacons' or somesuch simultaneously to forcefield off Terra Volta.
- ST. MARTIAL: "Carnival"... the Carnival of Shadows crop up EVERYWHERE and start wreaking havoc... in fact, go one step farther and have them start ambushing PCs in an attempt to "recruit" them by subdual.
- Any zone (hero or villain, but must have an AE building): "System Glitch"... the AE system malfunctions, and holograms of random enemy groups (including ones you might not normally see in a given zone) start spawning across the zone. Minimum two teams to fix the problem - 1 team to hunt down the holograms and 'deactivate' them, 1 team to 'fix' the AE system (a la the Hero Respec trial).

As always, thanks for the post, Von!

It's really tempting now to take a couple days off from work, and just play through all these arcs - some I've actually not had a chance to try (like the different tracks in Praetoria).

*looks longingly at the new zone*
Wow... I wanna film in there...
*logs in and runs to the end of Neutropolis, then stares off into the distance*
Maybe it's like Brigadoon... if the mist is right, you can find your way there. If you don't blunder into a sonic wall first.

Hmmmm... I wonder what you'd come up with for a poster for THE COURSE OF SUPERHERO ROMANCE. Must save up some $$ for another round of art commissions, the Ko is broke.

Errr... you DO realize that I can't demoedit Jason Priestly into a file. I'm good, but I'm not THAT good!

Might be neat to see him relocated to either Kings Row (since he and Blue Steel were both part of the Regulators) or maybe to Brickstown (given his history with Manticore). Also possible to make him a trainer in Perez (the way Foreshadow is in the Hollows), where he can still 'keep an eye' on the Skulls and the Hellions...
But killed in Galaxy? Oh hells, no, I hope not.

Yep! I found it well worth the investment.
As you can see from my sig...

Quote:THAT is just awesome. As for Aaron Walker... One of my Praetorian characters actually has a bit of a tribute to him. Rose, my little sixteen year-old DP blaster, thought Aaron was a pretty cool guy. She liked that smart-***, geek-boy thing he did. At the end of that last arc, the ambush would have eaten her alive if it hadn't been for his robots... He saved her butt.
When Rose hit 50 and became an Incarnate, I sat down to think about what I wanted as Lore pets for her. The answer seemed obvious. If she was going to call something out of the mists to defend her, it had to be something that she already knew she could count on... Something like those reprogramed clockworks. So, she always calls a Dismantler.
She named him Aaron.

I hope so - four years in and I still play with the in-game music on.

Quote:I've been fighting the same battle, Wes... it's partly why I start threads like this and this, to bring to the forefront the storylines that engage us as players.... in the (probably vain) hopes that The Rednames will take it to heart and advance them, considering how much has progressed in-game.So, any official word on if any of these things will be looked at? Because the new proliferation will bring me back to the game for a little while, but the only way that CoX will be keeping me on as a paying customer in the future is if I have the knowledge that all the stories that I've been fighting through for the last five years will actually have some sort of progress.
If I feel as if I'm making no real progress, no real "dent" in the world... what's the point of me fighting?

Reminds me vaguely of Father Remington's cross-sword in CHRNO CRUSADE.

You also forgot:
Zwillinger's wife calls
Jiggle the mouse
Someone gets shot with the nerf gun
Zwillinger shills for some keyboard/mouse company
Posi's t-shirt
"to the next level"
******
And I only get mentioned on air when Zwill notices one of my comments - I am not a general topic of discussion, even after I make a video.

BTW - he already figured it out. He named the Rikti as entity 30, but specified its model as entity 31. Incomplete entry for both = neither will appear.

Quote:I wonder who the disconnected player was. Anti-Matter may have been jonesing for a beatdown with him/her, and with that player gone, went, "Bugger it, I'll go invent zero point tech in the meantime."So we have a league of 12 doing Keyes, no problem. At some point, one person disconnects; no big deal, that usually happens. We complete first reactor, we complete second reactor. All is going well. We get to third reactor with 11 players, collect 8 glowies, and this giant red text appears:
"TOO FEW PLAYERS TO CONTINUE!"
Trial instantly failed. 30 minutes down the drain. What the hell, devs? Just WHAT THE HELL?
