I just make videos. They don't exactly hook in DROVES of people, but they pique interest enough for free trials or get folks who left to come back again.

I've soloed him with my Mercs/TA MM and my Bots/Dark MM... everyone else, I fight for a while, he gets away, and I salve my pride by bellowing after him, "YEAH, RUN YOU COWARDLY F***ER, THAT'S WHAT LONGBOW DO BEST!"
Kid you not, though, the second time I yelled that after him, HE ACTUALLY STOPPED. I don't know if he got hung up on something in the sewers or what, but it was like he stopped and looked at me and went, "You did NOT just say that." I caught up to him and whaled on him some more, but he still got away.

Quote:"I'm in awe, Lennier. The way you can take a simple proposition and turn it inside out so that it says what you want it to say rather than what it actually says. Does this come naturally or did you attend some sort of martial arts class for the philosophically inclined?"I wasn't aware that you had a 100% monopoly on both Awesome and Lasers! ^.^
We might have to have you on now, but I'm worried the show will implode under the weight of all your Awesome. Couple that with the Stimulated Radiation and.... well, we're screwed.
Besides, it's not a "Flat out lie", more like a heroic telling of a tale of good vs. evil that has become different with each telling down the generations to the point where it's not the same story anymore. And that's completely different! ~.^

Quote:Hubby was a bigger fan of the game than I was, but I enjoyed it (teaming the Spartans and the University = DEATH to all other factions). But my personal preference was MASTER OF ORION 2 (well, that and SHOGUN TOTAL WAR and MEDIEVAL TOTAL WAR).As if i didn't already adore you - you are a SMAC fan as well?

Quote:Which is really too bad - this is a prime example of an arc with 'great concept, lousy execution.'Because we're not supposed to know about her heroic past. She kept her identity a secret... Until we meet her and she's giving us missions...
Besides, she's surprised as well when she generates the flame.
Of course, you're talking about one of the worst arcs in the end-game (To Save A Thousand Worlds? Man! I'm gonna be here a long time! *click-click-click-click-clickety-click-click-click* *sigh* *click-click-click-click-clcik-clicklicklicklicklicklicklicklicklicklicklicklick. ..* Man! This just goes on-and-on! Hey... Is that Requiem? What does he have to do with... Aw, it's over...).

Quote:You could always adopt the sobriquet "The Painter":Actually, as a former comic book creator, I can tell you that villains pretty much MAKE the hero and, when you get right down to it, they're more important than the hero themselves in the overall structure of any good superhero story. What would Captain America be without the Red Skull, or Superman with Luthor, after all?
So rest assured--I love me some villains.
But if I ever change my red name to an actual character, I think I'd like something a little more...I dunno, awe-inspiring than 'Malaise.' Love the character and the art connection but honestly, malaise is defined as 'a general feeling of being unwell.' So really, at that point, I may as well go with 'Captain Sickday' or 'Barfy McBarfbarf.'
Pretty much the same effect.
Quote:Famous painting missing
The Painter was a famous supervillain who could paint a location and then use the painting to teleport there. Someone stole his painting of a building in Paragon City called Lee Towers. You've no idea why, but the heist has the (VillainGroup)'s fingerprints all over it.Quote:The Painter found murdered!
The Painter is a magical thief who paints scenes --say of like a bank-- and then somehow uses it to actually teleport to that location. He was found dead last night, and the MO suggests that the (VillainGroup) is responsible. Maybe they think they can backwards engineer the Painter's secrets with one of his paintings. Maybe you can too.

For the bulk of my heroes, their response would be, "You get ONE chance. ONE." (And although they'd never say it outright, the justice system would get ONE chance. None of this "charged, released, charged, released" crap.)
Giving them that ONE chance makes my heroes better than the villain, who probably gave no one a chance - not innocents, not heroes, nothing.
After that... no mercy. If they want to make it up to society, they'd better believe in reincarnation.

Easy. I'd fire the entire Marketing Department and staff it with people who would promote the hell out of the game on websites, print, video ads, etc.
I'd have a 'concept' album made for CoH, a la "Songs of the Witchblade", as a 2cd set of instrumental music spanning from heroic to horror, valiant to villainous.
I'd restart the comic line, doing storylines from in-game, but running a constant set of contests for players to be featured doing the various storylines. Each month would be a double issue - one heroic, one villainous, and the content would be ranging from lvls 1-50. So one month, you'd have eight featured heroes in the comics going through the Revenant Hero arc, while you'd have eight featured villains going through, say, Westin Phipps' storyline.
I'd get an actual STOREFRONT for the game - players have been clamouring for t-shirts, posters, mouse pads, coffee mugs, etc... I'd make sure they could get them.

Quote:Question: Whats up with Ms. Liberty?
Answer: There have been many questions about Ms. Libertys methods and practices. In general she strongly believes in fighting fire with fire (quite literally in the case of the controversial flamethrowers). When villains, even thugs, gain access to super-powers she believes that the methods used to fight them require some amping up. As far as shes concerned, her people are not breaking the Geneva Convention. Of course anyone in power is subject to question, as it should be. There are definitely politicians and law enforcement officials, even other heroes, who question if she has gone over the edge. Some say she is more like her grandfather than she would ever like to admit in terms of her absolute belief that she is doing the right thing. The same headstrong approach that causes her to accept anyone in need of a second chance into the Vindicators, even former criminals, sometimes drives her to overly aggressive response to villainous activity. Her teammate Swan seems to be the only one who can make any headway with Ms. Liberty on these topics and even she is concerned that her friend may be headed down a dark path that will require intervention.

Quote:More like the entire female contigent of the Vindicators were his fangirls. Ugh.What I remember from the comic was how every heroine in the comic had the hots for Manticore...
Wonder how THAT happened.
Which is why I found it hilarious that in THE FREEDOM PHALANX, Manticore was an arrogant unlikable d***, almost the exact opposite of his persona in the comics.
I see the possibility for some good mentoring between States and Des, especially once she meets Primal Earth's Infernal and realizes that there IS another way to live.
And re: Ms Liberty... I am really starting to think that she's gonna be the first one on the Vigilante Superhighway when that road opens.

Mine include:
** Finishing THE COURSE OF SUPERHERO ROMANCE 2 (and then starting and finishing Part 3)
** Editing my existing arcs, finishing the others I'm in the process of building (but had to wait because of missing maps or new MA features), and then doing trailers for all of them
And oddly enough, though it's NOT in my sig...
** Scripting and filming a full length feature film in CoH

Quote:Then there's the whole Maria Jenkins thing... read her bio some time. Makes you wonder just what their relationship was like...Statesman has been widowed for at least 25 years or so per the Freedom Phalanx novel.
If he wanted to only date immortals, he does have several choices in Paragon City.
1. Georgia Fields in Independence Port is over 70 years old per her biography.
2. Luminary as a robot will not age.
3. It's unclear, but it's possible that the bond between a Kheldian and human can greatly extend their lifespans.
4. Lady Grey. (I think that Lady Grey might consider Statesman too young for her.)

Players reacted with howls of outrage after learning through painful experience that Castle had yet again nerfed Picture Hanging.

Quote:With aerial coverage, of course, provided by the Atlas Park blimp.Thanksgiving: Paragon City experiences the annual tradition of The Wentworth's Thanksgiving Day Parade (AE arc #347683), featuring (some guy playing) Statesman as Grand Marshal, reformed Freak music sensation 5kvv33k-E P0p, floats with waving Fir Bolg, and people dressed as drum majors who aren't Nemesis soldiers for a change. Oh, and the Gobblers.
It must be seen to be believed.

*feels horribly embarrassed because she was wondering who you were on Twitter and why you were following her*
I am such an idiot.
But gratz on taking up the mantle for podcasting! If you can, especially for your 'not meant to be aired' segments, get Plas to start doing his Bob Dylan impressions. They were a screaming riot when he carpooled to HeroCon with me and hubby. Better yet, have him read some of the in-game dialogue as Bob Dylan!
