Best name I've seen for a MM Thugs Arsonist is Zippo ;-)

What I find annoying is when you enter a mission, summon all your minions without having moved away from the door, go to click on one to upgrade it, and then the game decides you actually clicked on the door and sends you back out the mission. Cue returning back into the mission sans pets AND having to wait for the summon powers to recharge!
[/ QUOTE ]
Moray, I never click on my pets to select them, I either use the pet window (like other poster said) or I extend Master Zaphs excellent binds to include pet selection and buffing... from memory, the command pet_select_name <petname> selects each pet... this way, you can build a really powerful set of binds that help you to select and upgrade your pet, as well as heal them in battle if you need to... I have used the number keys 1-3 for my minions, 4-5 for henches and 6 for top guy! works very well, with SHIFT + #number for first upgrade and CTRL + #number for second one...
As well as being a great way of extending pet control, you will never exit a mission accidentally again! -
I use boxing and brawl with hasten to get rage up very quickly then use Shadow Maul and Smite (which are almost an attack chain on their own!) to take things down very quickly. Shadow Maul is one of the best Damage / Time attacks there is if you set it up right to hit multiple foes... I 1-shotted 4 orange mobs using Shadow Maul on full rage...although this will change with higher level mobs!
Previous poster said that it wasn't strong on attacks, but it doesn't need to be, as what it lacks in number of attacks, it makes up for in damage / second. You will hold aggro (no problem!) and do decent damage... this is one of the most tank like sets there is I think, and great fun if you can work out your Endurance consumption!
Remember that Dark | Dark is a really well rounded set. It does decent single target and average AoE damage. It lends you survivability through Dark Consumption / Dark Regeneration and when you have your attacks 3 slotted for damage, fury right up and Soul Drain active you will be amazed how much damage you can do :-D -
Previous poster has already said it, but I'll reinforce it anyway!
.
Siphon life is a great power, particularly early on when you haven't managed to effectively slot all your other defenses. Having played Dark | Dark to 50 on Union as a Scrapper I relied upon Siphon Life until I got Dark Regeneration... then never used it again! But as you are going down the fire route, it will continue to play a useful role for some time.
Some of these questions are interesting to me as well as I have just started a Dark | Dark Brute! (guess which thread I'll be reading next!). I am going to take stamina I think, Dark Consumption is great but it does rely on their being sufficient mobs around you whenever you need them... it never hurts to have more.... just depends what you are sacrificing to get it I suppose. I think that ED has at least given us options to play with that can remove the necessity of stamina!
For me, Brutes seem to consume energy by the fistful and in order to be able to keep piling on into those mobs with full Fury bar up, I think the more stamina the better... keep the punches going in and take those sucka's out
There. My 6 penneth. -
I'm sorry that I wasn't there last night to witness the dual dingage!
Big gratz to both of you.... -
Come to think of it, I think that Fury should accumulate based on hits recieved not hits given! That would make more sense!
Oh well >^< -
[ QUOTE ]
..and no matter what brute I'm on...a near full fury bar sends me on a frantic race to find more mobs to pound...only to arrive and throw the first punch as soon as my fury bar is all but gone. I think you guys are probably right and brutes just isn't my thing...pity some of them are my favorite concept characters though
[/ QUOTE ]
OK we've talked about this before and I agree with you. But reading back over that quote and I can't help thinking that the mad dash to find more mobs in a sort of reckless rage is exactly what fury *should* bring out in a brute. A sort of red mist moment, road rage etc where reason and personal safety play second fiddle to getting a few more heads smashed in....
Might have a go at playing my brute again now with a new mentality on the whole thing!!!! -

Oh, and for those who were there, I could see Psychic Babbage was terrified as he saw a lone Empath charging towards him!
[/ QUOTE ]
He did look like he was about to run away... just before you planted!
Gratz Ele. Its been great fun teaming with you over the last 10 / 15 levels or so. Totally glad to have been there to witness your big DING! -
Gratz Jet! Sorry I missed it
Great pic Irradiator! Nice to see that Ele finally managed to make it to a DING! celebration -
GRATZ Bloss... its always a pleasure to be grouped with you
-
lol, not sure about that Starfox, Babbage has seen the soles of Cowl shoes more than a few times! Between you and me, I think his invisibility is more from legging it out of trouble than any super ability
-
*phew* found the thread eventually!!!
Gratz Gen! You were a massive help to me getting Cowl to 50...sorry I was too selfish to leave CoV and return the compliment... -

How can I create a bind that will target an individual pet
[/ QUOTE ]
OK! Quoting and replying to my own post might seem a bit desperate but I found the answer to my question on the US forums Mastermind Guide v2.0. There is a lot of other useful information in that thread :-). The answer to my question was this...
[ QUOTE ]
/pet_select_name name
This lets you set keybinds to target your pets easily for buffing and healing.
[/ QUOTE ]
It does require using the pets name but its good enough!!! -
How can I create a bind that will target an individual pet, for example;
Numpad1 : select zombie 1
numpad2 : select zombie 2
numpad3 : select zombie 3
numpad4 : select knight 1
numpad5 : select knight 2
numpad6 : select lich
??? preferably without referring to the pets by name! This would perfect my pet micro-management!
Cheers! -
I am using your binds Master_Zaprobo and they're great. I tweaked the files for use with Zombies which was very straightforward and away you go!!! I've only got 2 zombies atm (soon to be 3!) but thought I'd start using the binds to get used to them.
I like the fact that they're all under the left hand and enable you to manage all pets easily. I still have to use the mouse to select a specific pet in order to use the CTRL+<asdzxc> or to heal them but this is no big deal as I'm usually stood to one side of the action anyway!
Big Thank you to you -
No opinion on first questions but I can tell you that I will definately be taking a travel power! Can't stand having to run everywhere or rely on team-mates with TP.
I would think that Combat Jumping leading to Super Jump would be the best choice.... -

Hope this helps.

Yes Chanio it does - thank you! Well done for ignoring my reference to Murky Cloud! I *did* mean Dark Embrace as Q pointed out!
It means, as I supspected, that 3 slotted Dark Embrace and 3 slotted Tough post-ED are not as good as 6 slotted Dark Embrace was pre-ED, but its still loads better!
My toon now performs comparably to how he did pre-ED in terms of endurance and health and I don't have to spam self-heals on myself anymore! Hooray! -
[ QUOTE ]
Dark Embrace held our S/L resistance, not Murky Cloud.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oops yes - typo! All corrections gratefully recieved -
[ QUOTE ]
You know, if you read my post in this very thread you'd see that I am picking up Tough. I didn't think /DA needed it before but with ED it does.
[/ QUOTE ]
Reassuringly (for me, at least), I reached the same conclusion and have a planned respec including Tough. I can compensate for just about everything else post ED but the loss of smashing / lethal resistance was leaving me self healing so often I couldn't get enough attacks in!
Does anyone know how 3 slotted Tough & Murky cloud compare to 6 slotted Murky cloud in terms of both Dam Res AND endurance cost? Would be nice to know!
Cheers! -

Ah, you misunderstand the system.
... and I'll be happy I was wrong. get it?
[/ QUOTE ]
I do get it. Its not *the* system I misunderstand, but *your* system...mine works fine for me thank you. I truly hope you are wrong and you get a nice base raid related surprise...

"must allow it to happen"
[/ QUOTE ]
Fair enough. Taken in isolation it is ambiguous, but in the context of the rest of the raid related FAQ's I think it is clearly distinct from the IOP raids; strongly suggesting that "must allow" is consensual.
For the sake of argument let's assume my interpretation is correct, and be happy about it... if I'm wrong, at least you'll have 1 less thing to worry about for a couple of days... -
[ QUOTE ]
So that means that absolutely no base is ever safe from having a bunch of morons decide to invade and trash the place. It just means there won't be any lasting damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, this is not what is being said. If you don't have an IOP then base raids occur at any time but only with the defending SG's consent.
[ QUOTE ]
Q49: Can I PvP in bases without Items of Power?
A49: You can challenge another SG to an "instant raid", or be challenged by another SG, even if neither of you have Items of Power. Instant raiding functions much the same as a normal raid, except it can occur at any time, the defending SG must allow it to happen, and nothing actually changes hands or is permanently destroyed as a result of the raid.
[/ QUOTE ]
The FAQ that BurningFist linked above is really very good. You really should try reading it. It may set your mind at rest... -
[ QUOTE ]
The way I read it, "the defending SG must allow it to happen" means that unless they tick an option box saying allow the type of raids, they can't get raided.
[/ QUOTE ]
But not if you have an Item Of Power (IOP), then you can only set the scheduled raid time.
[ QUOTE ]
Q44: Can I have an item of power and not PvP?
A44: No. The only control you have over PvP when your group owns an IoP is to set the scheduled raid time.
Q45: What is the scheduled raid time?
A45: You can set up a time when your SG is likely to be on; that is the only time that your base can be attacked. This is to prevent attackers from showing up at 2 am and wandering off with all your stuff.
[/ QUOTE ] -
[ QUOTE ]
How come it's always me that sees the flaws?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because you're kinda cynical?
I didn't read it like that. I took it to mean that you wouldn't need IOPs to do RP friendly base raids.

I think that's sorta clear
