Robotics Control Binds
This is just what I was looking for! I have been using the Numpad pet control system and I like it, except for the fact I have to move my hand off the mouse!
I have slightly modified Zap's excellent set of binds by using the left control button in conjuction with q,w,e,r and f to individually control my minions by name (see the numpad binds system to do this, i just changed the keys) rather than targetting them. And I also used Zaps brillant method of left mouse button to do the goto command savesd me tons of hassle.
Great stuff Zap
(Now I just need to practice a lot...i suffer from 'Fat fingered assassin syndrome' I know what to press but tend to end up pressing the wrong one ;P )
I'am going to try this out on my new MM and see if i understand anything :P
But thanks for putting these up =)
And there was me about to make a set of binds to do a similar job, although I think you did it more elegantly and simply than I would have! Excellent set of binds

Yeah, I use this with the numberpad. Personally don't mind moving my hand off the mouse. I really only use the mouse for UI stuff, and occasionally to look around. But otherwise I'm almost all keyboard (my poor tab key), so it works well enough.
But I do consider binds like this a must for any mastermind, either in solo or in a team.
I have a bind set based on the number pad which seems to be very versatile. The best way to imagine it is a heirachical root setup. The root keypad is configured like this.
Numbers 1 - 9 : Little rp taunts I can punch out.
Numpad0 - Move to the all minions menu. (Focus = All Minions)
Decimal - Move to the all bots menu. (Focus = all bots)
Enter - Move to the boss / lieutenant menu. (not sure if I can bind keypad enter, I haven't got that far!).
Before moving down into one of the control menu's, its worth noting the standard keys which work within all of them on the current focus;
Divide, Multiply, Subtract : set the current focus bots to Agg, Def, or Passive respectively.
NumPad0, Decimal, Enter : Move to the selected bot focus. If the same as the current focus, move back "up" to the parent level.
Moving down into the "Minions" menu it has the following standard layout.
Current Focus : Minions
NumPad1 : Load the "Battlebot 1" menu.
NumPad2 : Load the "Battlebot 2" menu.
NumPad3 : Load the "Battlebot 3" menu.
NumPad4 : Att target (current focus, all minions).
NumPad5 : Follow me. (current focus, all minions).
NumPad6 : Stay. (current focus, all minions).
NumPad7,8,9 : Silly emotes for the current focus bots.
Ctrl+lMouse : Goto. (current focus, all minions).
All the other bot control menus mirror this, simply changing the "Focus" of the commands.
Its a complex setup, but means I can control my pets from every possible aspect without having to target them (which annoys me, especially in combat).
If anyones interested, I can post up the files.
have downloaded the file. Will mod for mercs and install tonite.
So far on COH/V i have never used any keybinds or macros.
Playing a MM however will surely benefit from them, as i'm sure a kheld will when i create one(lvl 48 at moment).
So thanks in advance Master_Zaprobo for your hard work. I will let you know what i think.
Installed my modified binds last night.
Still getting used to using key binds, but ive got to say if nothing else the goto command for moving all my pets without selecting them is priceless.
Thanks again
I am using your binds Master_Zaprobo and they're great. I tweaked the files for use with Zombies which was very straightforward and away you go!!! I've only got 2 zombies atm (soon to be 3!) but thought I'd start using the binds to get used to them.
I like the fact that they're all under the left hand and enable you to manage all pets easily. I still have to use the mouse to select a specific pet in order to use the CTRL+<asdzxc> or to heal them but this is no big deal as I'm usually stood to one side of the action anyway!
Big Thank you to you
How can I create a bind that will target an individual pet, for example;
Numpad1 : select zombie 1
numpad2 : select zombie 2
numpad3 : select zombie 3
numpad4 : select knight 1
numpad5 : select knight 2
numpad6 : select lich
??? preferably without referring to the pets by name! This would perfect my pet micro-management!
Cheers!

OK! Quoting and replying to my own post might seem a bit desperate but I found the answer to my question on the US forums Mastermind Guide v2.0. There is a lot of other useful information in that thread :-). The answer to my question was this...

/pet_select_name name
This lets you set keybinds to target your pets easily for buffing and healing.

It does require using the pets name but its good enough!!!
Power posting at it's finest, Cowl 3 in a row with different content might even be a record!

Fantastic, & I was just talking about something like this the other night!
Yay, you saved me loads of time & loads of "D'OH!.... @#$!...&#@$!". Thankyou .
Between this & the other info' here, I'll be crushing the world to dust beneath a horde of stomping metal feet !
I created a set of useful binds and macros to make up for some of the deeper control a good MM needs over his henchmen
Mastermind Keybinds and Macros
The later posts in the discussion linked to are the important ones with more advanced controls, the last of which highlights just how important crafty naming can be for really advanced tactical controls.

Thank youuuuuu!!!
Closest I've got is the basic num pad ones and binding move to to a key.
Oh and getting the robots to all drumdance and chant OOGAH CHAKKA lots....not very useful against...well...anything really...
And now for my own custom controls that I've been finding very handy in conjunction with a selection of macros as well Smile A few notes...
- It uses the following letters in conjunction with the Ctrl and Alt keys: qwerasdzxc
- Ctrl Commands refer to individually selected henchmen (good for ordering a rogue hench out or into melee)
- Alt Commands refer to henchmen groups (Assault Bot, Protector Bots, Battle Drones)
- Read the !Readme text file for use and installation instructions
The ZIP file is for Robotics only, but would be fairly easy for anyone to change.
I've been play testing them since beta (and during Statesman's Strike) and they are very versatile - I use the WASD keys for moving, the powers bar for activation of powers, and constantly keep my other hand on the mouse so the layout is very fast and intuitive for me to use.
The new Ctrl Binds I added for the individual henchman are icing on the cake - making me able to really micromanage if I have to.
