I'm currently in tier 6 as well. Just be patient. So we miss out on celestial and prolly fire/ice until they come out again. Great looking pieces but it looks like your surviving just fine without them right now.
And as stated, because we pick a VIP reward, we are halted at the Reward Tree progress. The ones who filled the whole tree still get their 550PP a month, those who pick a VIP reward over a T6 reward, or T2 reward will not have access to what they are placing on hold for either a month, or more. -
I was talking about the following suggestion in one of my Global Channels, some people understood my view, some didn't, and some were against this. So i know that this could create some backlash from some, and some love from others.
My suggestion:
Make T9VIP accessible to all VIPs, not just the ones who filled the whole Reward Tree, and rename it T-VIP.
The main argument people have brought up is that this eliminates the 'Long Term player' reward, and this is somewhat true.
However, currently people can buy their way to T9 in one day, thus T9VIP is not just for long time veterans, but for all who have filled the whole Reward Tree anyway they can.
My main argument is that T9VIPs is for VIPs only, but it discriminates between VIPs who have either been here a long time, bought their way up the tree and those who can not afford to spend much money on the game but are still actively subbed.
I have been here close to 3 years now, only let my account lapse 2 times, total lapsed time little over a month, because of my current financial struggles, and i think a lot of people can understand this. However, i am still a VIP, but can not pick the VIP rewards because i'm currently halfway into T6.
An example of how this could work:
Player A became VIP, receiving his reward token. T1 is filled, and now he has the option to place a token in T2, receiving the option to access the Trench Coat costume piece. Also because he filled T2, he now has access to Tells, Global Channels, AE and more even when he drops to Premium, basically following the current system.
With T-VIP, he can choose to not slot T2, but pick a VIP reward, since he is a VIP. This would mean that when he drops to Premium the following month, he does not have access to Tells, AE, Global Channels and such.
This opens up more freedom for VIPs, while still limiting the amount of rewards they get with 1 Reward Token.
I understand that people throwing money at the game is always nice, but i do know that the longevity of a game is based on subscribers, not just the amount of cash it generates. And i believe with this system, it could increase the subscriber rating, as well as generate a little more cash.
Anyways, this is just my opinion, it is neither right nor wrong.
Looking forward to the feedback regarding this, either constructive feedback as to why you do not like this idea, or why you think this would be good or bad for the game. -

Since you have been Community Manager the bridge between these two groups has been closed to a point that imo, sets an example to all other games. -
Regarding PvP,
Zwill, you think we can set up an event?
I was thinking 1v1, 2v2 and 8v8. Have each server hold one of these, and then have the server champs battle it out with each other.
i remember a few years ago that this was held as a 1v1 event, but since there are no more PvPReps, these events are not being planned.
If needed, i can volunteer as one of the helpers. -

I'm going to take the step of apologizing for using the term "suck it up" when referring to Hasten. I wasn't trying to tell you you had to take it. I was saying that you are paying a very large price for lacking it. I didn't intend for you to literally throw your build away completely. I even told you that my build wasn't a template and you would need to change it based on your needs.
The fact is you have a number of relative experts at your disposal to help you understand what the issues with that build are, and please do not deceive yourself into believing they are not issues. I understand if you don't want to actually make the changes, but it is apparent to all of us who are posting you are hanging onto this build out of personal pride and not because you understand what you have built or what its significant shortcomings are.
If it seemed like I was being too harsh in my initial criticisms, I apologize, because that was accidental. I had just spent 45 minutes building a RPG character for a stranger on the internet, and I guess I figured that posting a revised build made it evident I wasn't just being nasty. So hopefully if nothing else you'll at least look at the build I posted and some of the others around, see what the issues are and consider either revising your build or at least posting a disclaimer prior to dropping it into a discussion about 7 purple sets.
I did look at your build the 1st time you posted it, and yeah, i did see a lot of things that were very different than mine. As i stated, i look and listen, and keep things in the back of my head when playing, seeing where i could/need to improve.
I'm not holding onto this build because of pride, it's more that i want to learn. Learning while playing a build and seeing it's shortcomings teaches me more than copying a build and never learn why i slot this with that for such. However, like i said, it does make me evaluate the situations i encounter on my Dom.
I understand that Hasten is very useful on not only a Dom, but any toon. One of the reasons i love Purple sets so much is that i can get a lot of rech bonus making me miss Hasten a little less. I was contemplating using Hasten, but like i said, from a concept view i could not do it, esp since this isn't going to be my main or 'go to' Toon, that role will be filled by my Crab Spider.
Yes, looking at the sets in there, it's very expensive, or at least, it's worth a lot. But saving up purples, buying recipes with Astral merits saved me so much. I saved up enough to slot at least 3 toons without dropping much inf on recipes and such.
I understand my Dom is far from being a true Dom, and i understand why almost everyone does a facepalm when they see my build, however, it does what I need it to do, and so far i am content.. doesn't mean i'll never change anything.
As long as i am happy with it, that is all that matters to me.
People used to wonder why my Crab didn't have any pets, even told me i was stupid for not taking them. Partially i agree, hence i'm working on a more solo build with all 6 pets being perma. But i also showed them that just because i'm not your regular Crab, doesn't mean i suck. And now most on my server know to not worry when i am on a team, because i can do anything that needs to be done.
Same as This Dom, i do what i need to do, i take not the role of a Dom, but more a semi blaster and semi controller, and so far, all is well.
I know i have a long road ahead of me making a 'True' Dom, but i have time, i'm not going anywhere :P -

I understand that this is something you guys do not have to do, and i am thankful you guys do do something for us. However, Respec? I can get a free respec in game when i need it.

Ask anyone on my home server about my Crab, and most of them will say the same thing, and none of them will be negative.
PS: it's 5 purple sets and 4 PvP sets, not dozens of PvP sets :P -

I think most people have been overly kind on your build. The slotting and power picks need serious work to justify the influence spent but it's your build so you can do what you want I guess.

My Crab took well over a year to be done, worked it's way up in cost, after spending countless hours just studying my build on Mids, and thousands of hours playing it. The fact that one of the better players in the game, an 8 year Veteran, thought he could Duo Keyes with my Crab, the fact that i was part of a group of 4 who did Keyes and the fact that i can solo the ITF means that my Crab is way better, and yes, i do know that my Dom will not even come close to what Neph can do.
This Dom took just a few days to create and a few weeks to complete.
Hasn't even come close to the attention of how i made my Lead Tank.
Again, i like my build atm, but i know that in time i'll probably make some adjustments here and there. It will never be my main toon, but it will never be a 'normal' Dominator either.
Seems that some people need to let go of the fact that some people might not want to make a toon in their, or the mainstream's, vision of what that AT is. As i stated, it is my 1st attempt at a Dom, let me find out the style of play on a Dom before i start making a 'true' Dom.
As long as my team members and League leader doesn't complain about how i do my job, i think i'll be fine.
And again, i know that there would be people who'd criticize me, that's fine, i look at what they say and keep it in mind. I do however do not like it when people tell me i MUST do this and MUST do that, unless you pay for my subscription, u can make suggestions, but do not tell me to "suck it up and take hasten" because YOU think i need it. -

If i'm in RV, and someone tells me that they are there to farm the pillboxes and do not want to fight, guess what? I'll make sure he'll be left alone. And that is easy since on my home server, we don't have many bad apples.

Sure we talk some trash and we make fun, but when the timer is up, it all ends. Trash talking is part of the game, trying to get under your foe's skin, get in his head. The part is when it crosses the line, and the line for me, and most others, is when the game is over.
Maybe it's my spots background that made it easy for me to switch between this. I remember fights breaking out on the basketball courts, but when the final buzzer sounded, that was it. After that, we could relax and chat without being angry i just elbowed him, or he punched me.
Again, i love PvP, and i wish they brought Base Raids back...
The Diff between your toons in PvP and PvE is very big, and i think that is what is the deal breaker for most to not try PvP, and i do not blame them. -

CJ+Hover works, both can be turned on at the same time, tried this on my Dom, and love it.
but yeah, i do agree with the question why CJ detoggles when several ground travel power is active.
CJ+Sprint= Fine
CJ+Fly= Fine
CJ+SJ= Detoggle CJ
CJ+Beast Run= Detoggle CJ
CJ+Ninja Run= Detoggle CJ
CJ+SS= To me unknown since i hate SS, but looking at the comments is fine.
I agree with lowering the end cost for Beast Run and Ninja Run too.
I use Beast Run on my Crab Spider at times because it just looks nice, i have a Stealth IO in my Sprint for obvious reasons. -

I'm sure that if downtime went waaaaay out of their hand they'd compensate for it.
i know of a few times where the servers went down unexpectedly and Zwill fired up Ustream to at least talk and give updates on what is going on.
If the launch of a new issue goes well beyond their 8 hour mark, and with well beyond i mean a day or more, i'm sure they'll find something to make things right. However, from all the 'expected downtime is 8 hours' 9 out of 10 times it was about 4 hours.
The reason we don't really know if we get a compensation for long downtimes, it because it never really happened, and the few times the server went down for a short time, like i said.. Zwill fired up Ustream.
We all know downtime is part of the game, and what do u rather have? They work as fast as they can to either get the server back up and fix things, with Zwill entertaining us on Ustream oncve in a while.
Or they work slow not really caring about anything and you get a day extra on your time?

Personally, most of these changes i hate, they take away from the experience.
This has stared a trend and and it's becoming more and more 'City of lazy Heroes'.
What's next? Buy a level 50 token so that when u create a new toon, use that token you are an instant level 50? Or an Unlock all token, when used it will unlock all things, items TF's/SF's and all access to all zones and such?
If you are willing to pay for APP pools, just buy an Alignment switch token, do the arc, and again buy a token to switch back to Hero. problem solved. -
