  1. Well it is hard to call a lvl 3 an AE baby, but I digress.

    The only excuses outside of not understand how to go to the hospital are slow load times and possible the trip back to group. If the group did not clear each level/area or a patrol pops up, then we could have an issue, especially if no one has Recall available. Of course this all moot if the player does not tell you his concerns/issues.

    Besides after a certain period of time of being dead you stop earning XP. Unlike regular mission the hospital is rarely very close as others have pointed out. In AE, unless you are near missions end or 5 npc's from leveling or cannot use inspiration/self rez because you are too close to the action you should retreat to recover and it is not is not a bad thing, especially if there is not other timely rez recourse.

    Basically the slow load time is a reasonable excuse, but only if a rez is available or can inspiration be donated/combined. On top of have the team be aware of the load time issue and it has to be true.

    In general farming was never the issue, it was frown upon and limited by TPTB The problem was finding and using exploits in an arc that gave more XP/ect. than desired. It was farming those arcs with the exploits that is the problem. And since they cannot give us metrics on farming, then they have to treat all farming is bad publicly.

    Speed on Demand?

    SoD and City Binder program has not been updated for several years.

    The bind Mr. Playskool listed will turn on super speed when you press the space bar. It will also allow you to still jump.

    /bind <any key> "powexec_name super speed" could toggle it on with one key press and turn it off with another.
  7. I was sitting at a light and saw a something on the sidewalk across the street. At first glance I though what the!! A Mu Guardian. Turn out it was someone in a long red trench coat with the collar up and their hands in their pockets. It was a windy day and their coat tails were blowing in the wind.
  8. Only destructable/defendable objects will let you link events to spawn item. Collections are not controlled that way, they all ready exist at the start of the mission.

    Either add the clue to the end mission as suggested. If you need the clue revealed during the mission but after the bombs are deactivated, then I suggest making a computer or other electronic-like device serve as the controlling mechanism for the bombs. Have it spawn after the collection of bombs is complete/deactiviated. Link the key clue to the device. Once the device is destroyed then the clue could be revealed.

    Another would be to do what you suggested, but instead of taking the bomb from collections, have the bombs be destructable objects. Then after the first nine are destroyed, the tenth one with clue will spawn.

    I entered the last mission on this arc and I had not UI. I could not bring up anything. I could not see me targeting anything, but I was. I could use any power binded to the keyboard, except those that unhide my gui items. I tried exiting the mission and re-entering, but it was still the same. I am not sure about chat.

    This did occur earlier in the evening on when my SG and I ran my "All your bases" arc. That was the first mission. I ran that one with Darc Reign a lvl 33 Rad/Arrow DEF. It was ran after 9 pm EDT. In that case I died, but had to quit the game and restart it since I was out of awakens and my temp rez power was still recharging. I tried to trigger my SG global channel to indicate I had an issue, but I could not tell if anyone saw it. I also did not see any chat bubbles for the NPCs or from the players on my team.

    This was a new glitch that I have not seen before.

    The closest analogy I have is like watching a Demo record of a mission, no interface at all, but it was playable.

    I thought it looked ok, until I left Icon in IP, around the corner from a police station. I may need bail money. Luckily I did not have a cane, or there would have been no chance for bail.

    Honestly it was not a planned thing. I was going for white mage with a cool hat.
  11. I did not realize there was an automatic ambush with destructible objects. I always added one, but have more ambush options is still great news.
  12. I did it via paypal, and it hung and crashed, but I still got confirmation of payment from NCsoft and paypal. I went back into my master account and the items was there, I just applied it and I was done. If it was not for the email, I may have tried again and gotten a duplicate code.

    So far the only way to change is to go to the costume select screen from the menu, select the change option and click on your costume choice. So far you can only change one way for all costumes.

    I have not figured out how to do it by binds, like I currently do my costume changes. I hope there is a bind way and a way to alternate changes without going to the menu screen.
  14. I made a mission in arc a talking to contact mission, no boss inside. or enemy inside. Then the mission Ally tells you to find a safe on a small map. Then I added like 10 trashcans that are searchable with a 10 second timer. They are not required, but people like to click glowies. When you click it, in the search it ask if your hungry. Then when your done, you tell yourself that was a waste of time. If I had room on the map, I should add an ambush with them yelling that is my sandwich.


    I wanna do one with an EB/AV in the back, then fill it with ally patrols, so no other enemy's spawn. The EB/AV will say the same thing the patrol does and will look like one of the patrol characters. If the patrols do not take him out, before you get there, you may come across him unaware.


    The other is to make all the characters look like, and do a where's Waldo mission.


    Or have all your allies betray you at the door. Maybe rescue Freedom Phalanx and then tell you your not worthy, and proceed to kick your ....

    My last one. For each object you destroy it respawns somewhere else in the mission and needs to be destroyed again. If you destroy the correct object the mission ends. So if you redo arc you may only have to destroy it 5 time, or in another run 20.

  16. I think you looking to do the old mission refresh feature that use to be do to help rescale a mission if more player or few player were added.


    Maybe a mission refresh button to use during testing. Exit the current mission, make a change, and hit refresh/update. The parameter of the mission would be revised to reflect the change. Then go back into the mission to see the change. It would keep track of previous progress. So if we are in mission 3 of a 5 mission arc, I would not have to go back to the beginning to work up to the change or rotate the mission list to place arc three first.

    I understand the need for the quasi-taskforce setting, but there are already some differences with a real taskforce. But testing should also keep the group together.
  17. Ok after editing things I did get it down to 93.56% and it still did not work. I then tried the save and test, and found a clue. As I said yesterday I could get into test mode, but after my edits I could not. My clue was a popup that said "Field objectcomplete" basically had too much text.

    I had no clue what that field was. So after searching the boards for info about the error I decided to search the mission text file for the file. I found the code "Objectcomplete" in the file. It was part of the clue detail in for a collection in one of the missions. I reduced the text in the field. I had more than one so I redited all of them. I found one was 98/100. It was all text no other encoding. I was given the option to publish it at 93.56%. So I went in and re-added a critical critter. I save it and found I could still publish.

    So between my other edits and this last one I got it to work and it was upto 98.53%.

    The other changes where to clean up so misspelling and fix story errors like that.
  18. For the arc I cannot publish, that I reference earilier in this thread, it is below 100%. I cannot select test or publish from the main screen, but when I am in the editing mode the option to save and test does work. I will let me test from there. That does not really help any one, but it is a quirk of the system. At least until I find the magic bullet to publilsh, I can at least play it in test to see if any weirdness pops up.

    And from what Zubs just said, I think I will recreate the arc from scratch. I can use the original file to retype the details. If that fails then I will redo my custom critters from scratch as well. Though one of my test missions does use one the critter groups and gives me the option to publish, so I am leaning more on the story mechanism and not the critter files.

    I am having the same issue. I got rid of the file bloat and stand at 99.47%. On test the arc was 6527. I have to figure out was the arc id is on live since it is unpublished.

    After work I gonna rcheck the text in the arc to see how close to the text field size limits I am. I checked the maps and costumes to make sure I had all the pieces unlocked. Worst case I will recreate the arc to see if that solves issue, it's only 3 missions. And I can reference the original to add the details. Of course this give me an excuse to use Leandro's offline editor to add a good chunk of the mission details. Unless a patch goes up to resolve this issue or another method is found.

    Also my other Arc that bloated over was fixed with the Save&Exit trick. The bloat went away and I got that one published.

    I am a little frustrated about the bloat and publish problem, but it is a new issue on the live servers so there are bound to be bumps. I just wonder compaired to other issues how large was the open test group population. It may be false total since we now have an addition test server to use.

  22. Nope. You cannot get any of the regular badges. There are specails badges for doing AE missions. So in AE only get AE badges.
  23. If a mission arc becomes that magic third category past Devs Choice, and it contains custom critters, will those be available from the standard picklist. It could save some space of the MA files if that could happen.
  24. I am courious about how well demo edit will work with MA.

    I could see some enterprise talent creating trailers for their missions.
