    I can certainly smell something.

OP, I think there have been some fine suggestions in this thread as to how to handle the situation and I don't think there is much more you could have done. As such, unless you get a redname post to clarify what kind of griefing gets the GM's attention (not likely) the thread has served its purpose. I think I'll step away now before it degenerates into random babble.

    *sigh* Too late.

Ah, ok then. Shame, up until now I'd formed a reasonably good impression of him. A pity.

Back to the OP, I'd say this is the major reason I avoid places like PD or the Ski Chalet. Sure, they're a nice location, but I find they attract all kinds of idiots who have decided that your passtime makes you unworthy of their respect as an individual. Shame that the forum has a few floating around too. There's a huge city out there so I prefer finding those spots that don't attract tools like that. Personally I think that trying to RP in the same area as a contact (especially for an event) is a mistake as both local and broadcast get jammed up with spam. But that doesn't help you with your problem.

I'd say report them and move on is the best that you can do. A shame I know, but unless a GM turns up that moment with a massive BanHammer, they're going to just be an *** and disrupt your fun. If you're with friends, suggest that you all move elsewhere away from the jerk. He'll move onto someone else who either is less polite or complains too. In the end, he'll be the author of his own downfall, pillocks like that normally are.

    Quite simply: NO.
  5. Forum RP is notoriously difficult to keep updated on when you have lots of time between posts. I get to check the boards in the morning about 8:00am and then probably won't get to look at them again until 9:00 in the evening if I'm lucky. On the European forums it was possible to keep up on a plot but on a larger, more populated board, the world could have ended in 13 hours. Which is why these days I keep my forum RP to smaller groups so the updates aren't so rapid. I get stressed GMing plots for 16 people, trying to GM a board thread for maybe 10 times that would take the patience of a saint and that's patience I don't have.

Personally, I like the forum actions having in game repercussions. Forum RP is where I get to go into detail about my characters, what they look like and what they're thinking, something that simply can't be achieved in game. Maybe it's just what I'm used to.
  6. Never done a Hami raid in all four years I've been here and I acknowledge now that it's unlikely that I ever will. I may manage a Mother Ship raid perhaps, I don't know.

The servers are definitely quieter than they were when I joined but that's only natural. However, it's interesting to note that it appears to be as bad in the US which helps to dispel the illusion of it being the 'promised land'.

Personally, I'm for any of the above. I feel that despite access to US debates, the forum merge has made us EU players even more invisible than before. Merge the server list and get it over with. Keep the EU servers listed as (EU) so we know we have a common time zone but let's at least put them all together.
  7. Thanks for the help guys. I'm not aware of pre-loaded Visa cards, I don't think we have them in the UK. If they do though, they're certainly an option so thanks for the suggestion.
  8. Wow, thanks for the swift reply. You must be psychic getting that almost spot on.

So if I wanted to use a third party retailer, would I be able to buy the Booster Packs from them? I know I can get copies of CoX from external sources but I didn't think the packs could be bought anywhere else other than the NCSoft online store. I should state I'm an EU player as well.

It'd be a bit of a shame if they can't be as I was counting on them to make a good gift for a few friends this Yule.
  9. Hi folks.

I'm hoping that this is going to be a very straightforward answer.

With the Festive Season coming up, I have been looking at buying the Booster Packs for some of my friends as a simple yet appreciated present. However, when buying them for myself, I've always gone through the 'apply code' route on my NCSoft Master Account and stuck them on my game account. If I was to buy them, could I then legitimately give those codes to others as a gift or does the purchase of them somehow tie them to my account already? And if it does, is there a good way of gifting them to others?

    Many thanks.
  10. Being a Blaster addict, I have constantly hated not having a melee set that doesn't rely on using Elements or gadgets to hit the enemy. The best I can do is use Energy Manipulation and turn the effects right down.

So hell yes, a natural set that allows me to smack foes in the face when they get close. I definitely approve. As an added bonus (but an animation nightmare) have the weapon stay out so you can pistol whip them or smack them in the face with the rifle butt.

    No complaints here!
None from me either... just small squealing noises of joy...
  12. I would like to see a server list merge.

But I would firstly like to know the precise reasons for why it is 'impossible'. Words like that have a tendency of changing over time.

    And still won't.

You keep making them, we'll keep watching them. And if there's anything the EU crowd can do to help, just shout.

I like sweeping generalisations, they make the most awesome sound effect as they rush by.

I don't think we're uptight in the slightest. Some prefer male, some prefer female. Each players' reasoning is their own. If a character pops into mind and a gender fits, that's what I go with. Male, female, android, gynoid, animal, mineral, robot or vegetable, it's all part of the fun of creating the character. I hit about a 50/50 split on mine.

    Over-generalisation much?

For you perhaps. I toggle it on occasionally when things get hairy.

    D- Must try harder.
  17. Simple answer from me: NO.

A choice of selectable models - maybe. But I love the current Granite look and I'd be disappointed if it changed. Not quitting level disappointed, but disappointed nonetheless.

  19. Well I managed to find myself at last. And sadly, as per the usual luck when it comes to my surname (which is actually rather easy to spell), it's been mispelled.

Still, it's nice to be there I guess even if the private was doing perpetual girly jumping jacks all day.

Now give us a reason to go to the Shadow Shard and I'll forgive you.
  20. You're more than welcome.

I love all of your videos and have often thought that they're just as good (if not better) than some of the official ones that have been released. Just do one thing for us: don't stop.

  22. Yes, yes, yes again and by the gods themselves yes!

I've hungered for more costume slots for years now and so any way of getting them in game (yes, any way, my credit card hates me) I will do. I would rather see more free slots added but if some costume slot Booster Pack comes out, I'll be the first in line.

So /signed, I broke the pen while doing so.
  23. REALLY!?

That's flipping awesome! I think a quick fly around the Shard later on tonight is in order!

    Many, many thanks for this.
  24. *Butts his head into a NA Server thread and waves hello*

I've come across this 'static team' term a few times now and if by it you mean an RP team that meets the same time every week then hell yes, I've been and still am in a great one.

The Militia formed about 4 years ago on Union and since then, we've all dinged 50, rolled up a new team and are on our way round again as well as spawning a separate rival villain group, The Cadre. A common theme helps along with regular plots being planned by various people. RP often descends into personal plots over time but keeping a constant, over-arching threat helps to keep people's mind focussed.

So yes, very successful I would say.
  25. I like to think of them this way: Regen or Dark Armour?

A PB is very self reliant. It has two solid self heals (three if you take Dwarf Form), a revive and an endurance management tool.

A WS relies more on its foes to regain HP and endurance. But it will also muck around with them a lot more by stunning them and holding them a lot.

The inherent buff makes a lot of difference in teams. This I find the most significant difference. It also has the effect that solo you'll probably go, 'oh, this is ok and kind of fun' but in teams you may change to 'Holy Moley! This is astounding!' (especially on a Warshade where you'll have bigger spawns to drain your buffs from). On one team, you'll be an engine of destruction passing out pain to all and sundry but will be very squishy, on others you'll still do good damage but will be very hard to hurt.

Other than that, I found that I could go without the Fitness Pool on my WS whereas my PB needed it. Also, be prepared for the slot-crunch if you're going tri-form. It'll hurt until you get to your 30s when you start getting more slots but remember that when you respec, you can shove some of those slots into forms before you earnt the power. That can make a huge difference.

Enjoy, they're not 'uber' or 'overpowered' (well, ok, my Warshade on a good team can feel it sometimes...) but they are a challenge. I hope you enjoy them and pre-emptory congratulations on the 50.
