Little trash talk yeah but there was some serious crap going on out there. Stuff that went beyond the fun trash talk.

Zone PVP can be fun, especially RPVP, the problem is that there were a bunch of people who were so interested in just ganking and insulting people that it turned a lot of casual PvPers off of the Zones.
That being said, It does happen here on Virtue but is sporadic. I talk to people I know who are really not interested in going into zones to jsut get Ganked, because they don't have the right PvP Build and are not interested in making a PvP build.
I do hope some of this changes, mostly cause I have had some fun the PvP Zones even though I suck terribly at it. -
Quote:To be quite honest, the Modem would not cause a system lock like that.I just wanted to give this a bump; I've had the PC in for a week back at the shop where they ran two programs, BurnIn and 3DMark to test the system and only had one issue where they subsequently replaced the video card.
However.
Viewing Youtube streaming videos (only three at once) today caused the exact same issue (mouse and keyboard dropping out, system stall requiring manual reboot). Now, it seems to do no harm to the system, though I should point out there was a blue screen error earlier today that did a forceable reboot of the system (I didn't get to read the full notice, only that something had happened requiring the system to reboot).
There are two factors at work here that might help illuminate things; the first is that it's been very hot here in Australia the last few days (temps around 95 degrees) that could perhaps contribute to a system overheating, and the hard drive itself at just a mere 160 gig capacity is nearly three years old. Actually....I have also installed DivX codecs onto my machine to watch some avi files that I can't watch otherwise.
I've been racking my brains to figure this issue out: Is it the ADSL modem I have? Is it the motherboard? The video card? The hard drive? The codecs? If anyone can steer me straight, I'd deeply appreciate it. The hard drive was wiped and it's on a clean install also.
S.
The most likely causes are:
1) System is overheating
2) Power Supply is not powerful enough (either its dying or too small power wise)
3) Both of the above
Considering that it seems to happen when dealing with video items, I would check what the power supply is rated at (250W, 400W and Amps on it) and see what sort of power is recommended for the video card you have. I also would download speedfan to see what the temps are in your case when the system is running. -

Quote:The problem comes in though with the ability to be immersed int he universe. Too many errors etc, take away from the consistency too much and creates a universe that is messed up.Ah, so you're of the position that all new development should cease until all existing issues are fixed?
The devs have already stated that introducing new content takes precedence over revamping old content. I am in complete agreement with this position as it results in MORE content.
Also fixing existing issues would quiet down some of the population. Just my $.02 -
Howdy everyone who finally showed up.
Happy B-day Viv! -

Man that yellow ball is bright *shades his eyes* Morning all -
Outside of doing a defrag of your drives, and using something like CCleaner to clean up the registry, you should be good. The upgrade is pretty smooth and easy. Of course, if you have had problems with the system in any fashion, I would do a clean install, otherwise the issues will just transfer to the new OS.

Did my first Hami Raid in like 2 year or so last night and let me say it was a blast. The people involved were really cool and supportive, and really explained out how things went and what to do. Definitely gonna start doing more of them. Now to find time to join them on a Red Side raid. Thanks again HAmiRaiders!
