Well, but we're the only 2 from the 'old skool' still playing then?
I mean i think that TSnipeR, Johnny Fiasco, Optical all quit right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats me
I never quit as such, just stopped playing for a while.
I am yet too touch IO's - A: Hate messing with my build and B: only got around 35mill inf, and prices are stupidly high. -
Nice guide.
I havent messed around with IO's yet so still slotted with SO's / HO's.
I imported your build into hero planner, nice setup. I will change things around to my preferrred powers (I use CoF and DS) but i think you got a good selection of IO's there. -
Welcome back Shift
Still here from day 1 playing my DM/DA.
The powerset seems to have picked up a following recently especially with Nightmarer and Larac above showing their dedication us DM/DA's -

Just a note, I'm sure your all aware of this, but don't run it with Death Shroud........
[/ QUOTE ]
As i said above, its personal choice.
I use CoF with DS and i find the DMG and Fear running along side each other helps a lot.
The Fear and DMG effect swap between each other so it A: prevents the mobs hitting you and B: lowers their health.
Yes the DMG does remove the Fear effect but then it is added again almost straight away when they return into the AOE.
But it all depends on slotting and personal preference -
Try it for yourself. I personally feel that too many players look at the forums, see people don't take the power and automatically think it must be bad.
I have had CoF since my 1st DM/DA character on the US Beta. I will never respec it out.
Before I3, CoF caused Minions and Lieutenants to flee. In I3, fear was changed into a cowering effect. In I5, the To Hit debuff was reduced. But use this alongside Death Shroud Mobs will enter the AOE, cower, be damaged by DS, exit the AOE and return for more punishment. This reduces the amount of damage you are receiving.
I recommend slotting - 2acc/2endred/1fear/1thtdbf -
with what your saying it would have to be Spines/SR or Spines/Regen
-
I will have to export a proper build but at present i have the following -
Dark Melee
Smite - acc2 dmg2 endred2
Shadow Maul - dmg3 endred2 acc1
Shadow Punch - dmg3 endred2 acc1
Soul Drain - dmg4 endred1 acc1
Midnight Grasp - dmg4 endred1 acc1
Dark Consumption - acc1
Dark Armour
Dark Embrace - dmgres4 endred2
Death Shroud - dmg2 acc1 engred1
Obsidian Shield - dmgres4 endred2
Murky Cloud - dmgres4 endred2
Cloak of Darkness - defbuff2 endred2
Cloak of Fear - endred1 tohit1 acc2 fear1
Regeneration - acc1
Hasten from speed pool
Hurdle, Health and Stamina from Fitness pool
i basically have endurance reducers in all powers.
Death Shroud will reduce the time it takes to defeat mobs with its constant ticking, in turn reducing endurance costs to all other powers.
I mainly play in big groups, with lots of mobs, so im designed around AOE fighting, i use CoF and DS together, this both keeps the mobs feared whilst being damaged by DS (this does stop the fear effect, but keeps the mobs closer to me for longer)
I wont deny that ToF and OG are good powers, but they dont fit my playstyle. -
No Death Shroud ??????? unless your going PvP never skip this power.
I'm not going to tell people how to play there DM/DA's but it seems to be a constant message being said all the time about dropping Cloak of Fear.
I personally will never drop CoF, i dont have scattering issues, i dont have Endurance issues. i use it constantly with Death Shroud.
I would choose powers that you like, play how you want also take a look at this DM/DA Bible -
I'm Ninja/Dark and currently set out like this -
01) Call Genin -Dmg - Dmg - Dmg - Acc - Acc - Acc
01) Twilight Grasp -Heal - Heal - Heal - Acc - Rechg - Rechg
02) Tar Patch -Rechg - Rechg - Rechg - Slow
04) Darkest Night -TH_DeBuf - TH_DeBuf - TH_DeBuf - EndRdx
06) Train Ninjas -Rechg - Rechg
08) Combat Jumping
10) Howling Twilight -Rechg - Rechg - Range
12) Call Jounin -Dmg - Dmg - Dmg - Acc - Acc
14) SuperJump
16) Shadow Fall -DmgRes - DmgRes - DmgRes
18) Swift -Jump
20) Health -Heal
22) Stamina -EndMod - EndMod - EndMod
24) Fearsome Stare -Acc - Acc - Rechg - Rechg - Fear - TH_DeBuf
26) Oni -Dmg - Dmg - Dmg - Acc - Acc
28) Petrifying Gaze -Acc - Acc - Hold - Hold - Rechg - Rechg
You can see that i have only taken powers from the ninja set to do with the actual minions.
Personally i would advise you to do something similar, swap out the ninja for thugs. Let the minions do the killing whilst you concentrate on the debuffing. -

There is no 'em slapreact', AFAIK.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, no SlapReact at all!
As to the OP question, you can indded chain /petsay commands. Your particular requirement there would be...
/macro slp "petsayname <name> <em slap>$$petsayname <name> <em slapreact>"
... enjoy!
[/ QUOTE ]
Thx
I was using slapreact as an example ( i have seen slapreact somewhere within the guides section though)
I was missing the $$ between the commands
EDIT go to Emote List and slapreact is an emotee -
I know a little bit about macros/binds and know that i can create seperate ones for each of my minions to either speak or do emotees.
what i am having trouble with is getting 2 or more too interact with each other ie 1 minion slaps another and the other reacts.
Is this possible in one macro or only in 2 seperate macro's.
/petsay_name <name> <em slap>
/petsay_name <name> <em slapreact>
whenever i try it, the 1st action happens but the 2nd action appears as speech text. -
If you do get any cancellations then i will be available with Optical
-
Can only do this on Defiant or Test, but i would be up for this.

A few minor changes with slotting will be done sooner or later, but i'm quite happy with how my character performs. -
Myself and Shift were the 1st lvl50 DM/DA scrappers on EU servers, and a lot of changes have been made to the powersets since.
The powerset is a hard struggle to 50 and takes a lot of hardwork to play efectively. but as soon as realise the potential of it, you can waltz through most mobs at ease.
Stamina is a must power, with the recent changes and my current slotting i can now have my 3 main shields on with cloak of darkness and cloak of fear running. ( i love the AOE fear, and will not respec it out)
i can post my build if required?? -
helllloooooooo
Re-subbed for a month to say hello again
Well i played US Beta into Retail, then moved into EU Beta and into Retail, i left about 8months ago for WoW -
-
I have 6 slotted AM with 3xENDRecovery (or whatever they are called now) and 3xRechargerate
I will still take stamina and see how much difference it gives me.
Cant really tell how effective it is until i get SO's -
