Quote:Don't you ever in yo life holla at Dex like that. Dunk dat ice, homey!!!!!!!!!!!!!Oh well, to bad differences can't be put aside. I am hoping for the anniversary shocker... you know kind of like renewing the vows. A gesture saying sorry it took so long and here is your second free respecs to fix your pvp build...
On a side note I could counter with Tagalog or Japanese slang ;p
Shout-out to U2BG, Dex, and my boy Chris of Turret Boyz 4 Life. With PvP dead, it seemed appropriate.
A last shout-out to Mod05, the dopest ************* Mod in CoH history. He's a boss without making false promises and has the swagger of a mini-'Deezy.
All you lingering baddies need to move on. **** CoH. -

Quote:That's retarded. It's not ideal, but if you're bringing in new people, let them play what they like. It's not a hard concept to delay damage to hit with a Psi's attack chain. The only issue would be range, since you need to be much closer without telegraphing the spike.Good news/bad news for you Arch. You did a really nice job of creating a build that would fit into the confines of BC2 (no purples/no pvp IOs) while still hitting most of the target objectives for a PvP Blaster:
You are HP capped 1606- If you get a few other accolades, you are way over the HP cap if you get all the accolades so you might be able to change some sets to give you some other set bonuses like +acc, +recharge, +dam etc.
You got the concept of adding proc damage- one of the reasons, I actually made a rad blaster was the ability to proc its attacks fairly easily.
The bad news is- at this time the ideas committee voted to limit the types of blasters allowed to be played in BC2 to: psi and sonic and further limit the number of players who would actually be able to pick sonic.
The feeling amongst the group was that while there maybe people may rebel against playing psi/em because they feel pigeon holed the truth is having everyone play the same type of blaster is a good thing on team based PvP. If you have a team of 4 psi blasters and 1 fire blaster, the damage from the fire blaster will be coming in faster then the psi (not the icon or the to-hit roll, but the actual *seeing* of damage on your hp bar) therefore that damage can give away a spike target to the other teams healers.
Another reason we are limiting the AT/powersets that will be playable for players new to pvp is that we are going to be focusing on teaching the basics of PvP: locking, spiking, and evading (the big three for damage dealers). This will hopefully give players new to PvP a better understanding of PvP. To do this everyone who is helping to teach workshops and such will need to be able to talk about attack chains and powers and it is much easier to talk about 8 powers or 2 attack chains rather then 40 powers and 10 attack chains.
Again what you made here with that rad/em build is really great and shows you have put time and thought into creating your character for PvP BC2 which is awesome. I look forward to talking with you more on the 15th.
I think it's funny that this group of people teaching PvP to new players is severely limiting damage types from Blasters, despite there being more than two effective types.
These "professors" comprised of players from the bottom teams in each league in recent memory; in a game which already lost it's most talented players long ago. Silly.
This game no longer requires skill, only fundamentals, which you're attempting to teach. If you're always losing, and that's the determination of winners/losers, should you really be trying to teach anyone? -

Arch/EM. Innate +Acc. It's the revolutionary new way to PvP. Ask -----Devine.

Quote:Your secondary is irrelevant. In reality, all it will do is hold a place for HP mules.I thought maybe a Sapper would work for PVP, but it does seem a little slow to work and slow will get you killed. Looking through various PVP threads a bit more, it seems like Emp & Ranged Spike is the current state of PVP. I've never built or played an Emp before, so this would be all new territory for me.
I only rarely dabbled in PVP and I've had abyssmal luck with purple drops in PVE, so I'm looking at a Stage 1 build to work from and add to over time. I have no problem slotting IO sets from level 12 on up, but I just can't afford the really big stuff yet. In other words, if it costs 2 hero merits or less, it's no problem.
Any PVP Emps out there willing to share some wisdom?
EDIT: Considering Ice Blast for the Secondary. Its holds and slows seem like good escape options, plus I can 4-slot Basilisk's Gaze in the holds for nice recharge. Blizzard and Ice Storm also look like nice DOT options to counter Hibernate.
If you're going cheap, just be sure to have at least 40% Rech, Rec isn't an issue, at least 2 SOs worth of travel in SJ and *at least* 1 SO worth of travel in SS. You want 41 KB Prot and at least 1520ish HP. If you can work in heal bonus, that's not a bad idea, and cheap with Doct Wounds. -
Quote:Yeah at best. And 19-9 really? Just be glad I didnt let Vex run Vinnie on Rad.
That would have been hilarious, though. This went well, too, but I wanted to get Xhiggy, PE, Vince, and HoJ so we could be legit ringers... With me ringing!
HP would have been the motivator/narrator. -
Mebs always had notoriously bad ideas for PvP. Thank God we were around on the Champ league to save the team.
He's a silly muffin. -

Thanks for participating, despite your and everyone's inability to win it. Showed great sportsmanship.
Except for the ****-talk when one bad team rage-quit. And another bit of ****-talk before dUmb lost. -
Quote:There are plenty of examples. Instead of people making the same thread over and over, look over another example. Find it using the search function.Hey All
I am very new to pvp and I am currently on my Mind/Fire who had recently gotten to 50. My friend had made me a build for PvE so I was wondering if anyone had a good build for pvp? I am currently low on Inf, so i was wondering if I could still be efective without overloading on purples and pvp ios. Thanks for any feedback.

Quote:I predict a miraculous appearance of an Ouro portal or a brute that was a tank in dUmb's future on Sunday night. Just a different voice asking "How big of a deuche do you guys wanna be?" And on mumble instead of on vent.
Nope. It'll be "How gay do you wanna be?" and it'll be in the original voice. Don't worry. -
