    Yeah, cuz Cremzen sux.

    Period.

Come to find out, it was the mito's in the LGTF, not in the Hive. We coulda done it, but I don't think we would've had a good turnout. There were a couple team leads that were not gonna be able to be there, and I don't think I actually had Hami taunt lined up. Whoops. Oh well, better luck next millenium.

Well, that sux. Guess we'll have to postpone it for a week or two. I'll try to keep everyone updated.
  3. Alright, due to unpopular demand, we're gonna be trying to get a hamidon raid this Sunday at 9 EST. We finally have some leads lined up, and are gonna try to get this done. Time for talk is over! EoE farming will be taking place the night before at 9 EST, so make sure you show up for this as well. EoE's are crucial for our survival in the raid, and have to be farmed. No EoE's, no raid, so be there! I will be posting some things to keep in mind for the raid later, so check back here.
  4. Looks like we might be doing a raid very soon on a sunday night and possibly a ship raid immediately following. I think we might be close to having the leads we need, but I have to confirm a few people's availabilities, but we could really use a few back-ups just in case. LET'S GET THIS DONE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. *looks at clock*

Think I might be able to show up for this.

As long as the tank teams have good support and a build that can hold up to the hami, each person can get buy with 3 EoE's. But Ive done Hami's with no EoE's with either my FIR/KIN, DM/DP, or WIDOW and have held up just fine. I guess the fear factor of failed Hami's on INF has been not been forgoten. Good Hunting and Peace by Bullets!
First and foremost, I don't want to argue with Virtue's success in Hami raiding. Obviously, they've got it down cold, but you've overlooked the most important aspect, this is not Virtue. I'm not familiar enough with their way of raiding to be comfortable with trying it, and I'm pretty sure there's no one on Infinity right now that has been actively involved in the leadership roles, not just participating, to lead one.

Second, I'm pretty sure what OSHA was referring to is to do a "Virtue raid" would require way more EoE's than we're used to. From what I've read about their raids is each person would need to pop an EoE per bloom, so for the 42 or so participants not tanking, that's 126 EoE's. Then you tack on the additional 100 or so needed for the 7 or 8 taunt tanks as a safe number. Now, factor in the fact that no one we have is familiar with this other format, and one raid wipe minimum should be planned for, so throw a few more EoE's into the pot. That puts the count at 250-300 EoE's for one raid. I don't know if you ever participated in the raids Infinity had, but we never had a big turnout for the EoE farming sessions, and usually ran about 30 minutes, and I really don't think people are going to be hard up for an hour plus farm time.

And to be perfectly honest, I really don't want to do Virtue's raids. I love being on Infinity, and think we should carve out our own way of doing things and not just clone ourselves after other servers. The devs have said the EoE's are just crutches and that raids can be done without them. If, IF, we can get regular raiding done on Infinity, maybe we can eventually work on different strategies to take him down faster, maybe even one day without the EoE's all together.

I'm not saying that doing a raid with Virtue's fromat is impossible to do here, but it will be very difficult to get done, unless you plan to personally brief every member of the raid one by one with so few people familiar with raiding in any format. The one advantage to the format a few of us are familiar with is that that format requires only a few people to know how to lead their respective teams.

I know you have alot of enthusiasm towards getting the raids going again, but if that were enough, don't you think I would've had it going by now?

I'm assuming your +300% regen includes slotting and/or pool/ancillary power choices. Last time I checked, and by no means am I an expert...at anything, there's no power within the invuln set that gives any boost to regen. You would have to go outside your primary, or compensate with set bonuses, to get the additional regen, unless I'm missing something. I was referring to the additional regen boost you would recieve from Rooted before you count slotting, applying any set bonuses, or factoring in pool/ancillary powers like Health and Physical Perfection.

Having said that, if we're talking about after the build is completed, I have a Mid's build for a stone/war mace I've slowly been leveling that once complete will have 567% regen. It was by no means designed to chase as many regen bonuses as possible, seeing as it still manages to have near capped resistances, and being pretty much soft capped defense to all damage types besides psionic, and is still not complete. It does need a bit of tweaking, because it's all on paper at this point.

I am not trying to say that invul is an inferior set to stone, just that stone is the preference for this situation. It's no different then me saying that the best scrapper to bring to the raids is a regen. It's not that I believe all other sets pale in comparison to it, but seeing as how Hami's damage is unresisted and not defendable by anything we have, outside of EoE's of course, regen would be the prime choice seing as how it's nothing but heals. Nor does it mean I would ask someone to leave the raid for bringing a Dark Armor char, there's a place for everyone.

Anywho, yeah, group fly can be very useful, but everyone planning to attend should take a whole 5 seconds to buy a raptor pack just inside the entrance to Firebase Zulu before coming. It's just so much easier since very few people take group fly anymore.

And I am free except for Tuesdays and Thursdays so far, just for scheduling purposes.
Don't you love it when your posts get dissected?

    *Glares at Tiny Bolt*

Nah, just kidding. We need people to look at the raid from different view points so maybe we can find a way to make it better.

But, yeah, it basically comes down to the EE and Rooted one, two punch. When I first started trying to get some strats and prep done, it was mainly to help LG run a few raids. I honestly never intended to run any until Miss Illuzion conned me into it (just kidding). So, I took what I knew and looked to her and the OSHA's for some advice, and one thing that came to my mind, from the Hami taunt aspect, was that regen plays a strong role in survivability, so I intially thought, "What about Willpower tanks?" Yeah, dumb thought. When it comes down to it, a higher regen rate doesn't always mean more hp/sec. And I was really upset with myself that I didn't realize that from the beginning instead of being told that. Basically, stone has invul beat simply for the extra regen boost. If not for that, they would be virtually identical from the regen standpoint, not including slotting, of course.

Well, stone is the preferred choice. If none is available, then invuln is next. At first glance, all tank primaries look the same due to the fact that no resists or defenses in any set works against Hami, due to his untyped damage. EoE's cap resistance to Hami's damage type, so the main thing aside from the EoE's to focus on is regen. I've never been one of the number guys, but I have it on good advice that stone can reach higher hit point numbers, and with all the the regen buffs he'll have on him, that means higher amounts of hit points regenerated per second, which is key to taunting Hami. Earth's Embrace and Dull Pain go a long way towards maxing that hp. With all the -regen and -heal debuffs he'll have on him, squeezing out every last bit we can goes a long way.

The method I'll be using in the raids is based on the tried and true methods that have been used successfully for quite a long time on Infinity. IF we can make raiding a regular event here, and more of the community gets a bit more comfortable with the process, I want to rotate out of my usual scrapper team lead, and try all the other positions in the raid. One of my greatest hopes is that we can come together and formulate new strategies to vary the raid, but mostly, to bring those times down and build on the foundation of what so many have laid for us.
  11. Good to see more people jumping on board! Right now, we really need to see who in the community wants to see this come back.

I can tank or scrap as needed, but I haven't been on a hami raid since before they were changed. This means I am rather emphatically volunteering to NOT be any kind of team lead!
This thread isn't JUST about recruiting team leads, it's also about getting people to voice their desire to have raiding come back. So, please, feel free to leave a response if you want raiding back.
  12. After two weeks of so few responses, I was starting to have doubt we'd get on track for this, BUT with tonight's ship raid, I had a good conversation with a couple of people that pretty much reinvigorated me to continue to pursue getting this together. For their participation, Saturdays are out, so I'm thinking of a weeknight, not too late, though.

We still need a couple more team leads before we can get this rolling again, and especially, a good stone tank to take care of Hami aggro for us. And I definitely want to line up several more back up leads, so if you want to get involved in active Hami raiding, LET ME KNOW!!!

For those that have left a reply already, I haven't forgotten about you, and will be getting back to you when I have sufficient leads/back ups lined up to determine your best fit.

Again, if you want to participate in raiding, even if you don't want to lead a team, leave a message here and be counted!
  13. Waited til late to see if I was gonna still be up today for this, so count me in.

Still foaming at the mouth due to last week's falling just short of completion, so I'll be bringing my old tried and true main.
  14. First, let me say that putting builds together hasn't been my specialty, and I don't often check these parts of the forums for alot of build info, and I don't look for fotm builds, either.

I recently started rolling an elec/regen, just to try something new. Got him to lvl 16, and started to see some real potential for a good farmer, so I rerolled as an elec/shield, and it's really doing some amazing things, so I decided to take a look at anything anyone has put up about this pairing.

I like alot of of the things everyone's put up as their optimal farming builds, but, I do have a question about everyone's builds here. Before I ask, remember, I'm new to SD, so my knowledge is VERY limited. One thing that was in alot of the builds listed were both phalanx fighting and grant cover. Now the OP was looking for a solo farm build, so why include these in a solo farm build if they offer no real help for a person soloing aside from grant cover's resist defense debuff? Am I missing something here, or is there a good reason to include these that I'm just not seeing?
  15. Ok, so let's hope we can keep it down to one thread this time ;P

So, everyone who frequents the Infinity boards knows I've been trying to get our community interested in a little thing called Hamidon raiding once again. My previous thread had mixed opinions about raiding, a number of people eager to participate, but not quite enough to determine a sufficient amount of interest. This past double XP weekend had me teaming more than usual, with more random teams. With each different team, there was one or two people asking when I was gonna get it back up and running again. From what I've seen in the forums and in-game, I believe there's a definite desire from the community to see this come back, so, here's my official "recruitment drive."

One of the biggest risks in having a failed raid is not having proper planning, so I'm going to try to do this right every step of the way. Before I can schedule a raid, we need to line up all our team leads. We need solid commitments from leads above all and have them sufficiently prepped on their teams role in the raid. If I've said it once, I've said it.... well, at least a couple times, you DON'T have to be Hami experts to lead a team, that's my job. The only thing needed to lead a team for this is to have good leadership abilities and be able to follow a "battle plan" (or whatever the hell you wanna call it) that I will provide for you, even if you have never participated in a raid. I had to recruit and prep two fill-in leads on the spot during my last raid, that had no experience raiding, and still came out of it successful, it just took way too long to set up. That's why I'm trying to get people lined up to lead that WILL show up. Now, I know real life gets in the way for everyone at some point in time, so I'm also looking for back-up leads. If you really want to be involved and step up to a team lead, but not quite sure you're ready, then this may be the perfect way to start. You'll still get the prep before the raid, but will get to learn by doing, and getting a little experience to make it easier for when you feel you're ready. It would also be nice to get the community more involved in the process so leading never becomes a chore for anyone.

I hope to get these scheduled for Saturday and/or Thursday nights, whatever is best for those leading teams. After we get a number of successful raids under our belt, I definitely want to try bringing the raids redside regularly, and possibly, even working on new strategies to bring him down faster.

So, this is how we start that ball rolling. If you're interested in leading a team, you can reply here, private message me here on the forums, or send a tell in-game to @Cremzen. Whether you want to lead a team or not, whether you want to leave a reply here, or talk to me personally, either way, leave a message here, so we can get this interest up, and get raiding back to our server!!
  16. I'll try to make it out to this if I'm up by then, and probably just fill in on whichever team I'm needed and with whatever char.
  17. Fixt!

Another problem solved by those quirky guys (and gals) on that moody server!!!

So, can we suggest events for you to hold, Shuriken?
Nah, I'm just kidding, really, I am.

So, how do you qoute so many different things, anyway, IB? I can only get one in. Of course, my whole 5 posts is nothing compared to you, Oh zen master of the 12,881 forum posts.
    Man, is my n00b showing?
  18. We need change? We need events? So, what are you gonna do about it?

Or was this post trying to get other people to organize events?
  19. Just wanted to post an apology to everyone that's a part of this thread on behalf of the cross posting earlier. I was supposed to lead the raid that was mentioned, but have since cancelled it for many reasons. I never knew it was gonna get this out of control, and I never wanted to cut in to what you guys are trying to do. I wish you all the best of luck, and hope there's no hard feelings.
  20. First and foremost, I feel the need to apologize to the community.

When returning to the game a few weeks ago, I started trying to get the community interested in Hami raiding again. After a couple of weeks of mixed feedback, someone asked me if I would lead a raid if they got it set up. I agreed, not knowing that he was speaking for someone else. After a couple hours, it was posted on the forums, and I was a little apprehensive because we had not worked towards setting anything up before announcing anything. I spoke to this person ingame about the team leads, and he named a number of people that I've played with and/or heard alot about, all of which are VERY active in the comminity. To say the least, I was extremely relieved that my expectations for the leads we would have were far beyond what I thought we would have. Then there was the scheduling during double xp weekend, which scared me a bit on whether we would have a decent turnout. I noticed that this person was a little too enthusiastic, posting what seemed like every hour about the raid, but looked past that. But these were not big problems and decided to try to make it anyway.

I sent him a PM earlier to get those leads lined up in their proper positions, so I could make sure they were well prepped before the raid, and noticed he was looking for leads on the forums, not having the previous people mentioned lined up after all. I threw my hands up and went to work. With all the problems mounting, I decided to postpone the raid for a bit, until I could get things set up properly. After getting home, I noticed that he has now been cross posting in other threads and pissing alot of people off. And for that, I am apologizing. I never wanted to "attempt" to reign him in, due to looking like I was trying to "steal all the glory", or that I was on some kind of power trip, but I probably should have tried.

So, now I'm officially cancelling the raid until further notice, or at least any and all involvement on my part. Hamidon raiding's future was already in jeopardy, and I don't want everything that's been said in the past few to days to make it worse. I just hope and pray what little life blood might've been left in it, isn't now gone.

I don't want to discourage anyone from attending any raids scheduled by other individuals, but I also don't want people to show up to a raid that fails (not to say that they will), and put that final nail in the coffin for Hami raiding in the future for Infinity. A few people have tried to lead raids before I did and after, and have failed due to not knowing the process, the enemy, or by not being well prepared. I can't claim that I am the only person on Infinity that can succeed, because I know better, but alot of failed raids have SEVERELY damaged the support from the community on this, and I don't want to lose the chance at bringing it back to our server.

If anyone is interested in trying to bring back the raids, or to lend support in any way, feel free to message me here, or ingame to @Cremzen.

Again, I want to apologize to anyone that has been upset or annoyed by what's happened.

  22. I think 8 EST shouldn't be too hard for people to make it to, but I think every Saturday may be pushing it, at first. I know I won't be able to make it every week for awhile. I'm not too sure a large portion of the Infinity population even check the forums. I may be alone in this, but I really wanna get the raids down solid before amping it up too much. I don't want to hurt active raiding by not being WELL prepared. I know someone who can back me up on this, but I won't set him out. I believe that once we have a number of successful raids under our belt, the community supporting raiding is more familiar with it, and we start working on getting our times down, I think word will spread beyond the forums and channels, and have even more people interested in joining our raids. Once the population and interest grows, we may even be able to compete with the frequency on other server's raids.
I know Miss Illuzion tried doing it every week, and got burnt out WAY too fast, and I believe trying to avoid this being a chore for anyone leading is our best bet. I can definately say that leading a raid can be stressful! Granted, my first one was handicapped from the start, but I was stressed beyond belief. After everyone is a bit more comfortable with the process, more people from the community will find it easier to step up into team lead positions, and even a few leading a raid or two. But, I will say this, if the response to the scheduled raid is overwhelming, and the Hive overfills, I'm willing to lead back to back raids that night, as long as I have prepared team leads for both in advance.
Either way, I will do everything in my power to help and support getting this off the ground and make it a regular event for our server.

Yeah, I think it's on Saturday the 6th, not too sure just yet. The other thread, yes, there's another, says it's on the 6th and he mentioned to me earlier about the 6th, but you just never know. And I don't think there was a time mentioned either.
Anywho, I'll try to get clarification on the date and time.

Just name the places and times and I will try to be there, whatever it takes to get Infinity raiding again, whether you need raid leads, team leads, or just to show up.
