I hear you...idk. If one of the interesting characters was gone then I wouldnt mind so much hanging on for a season to see what happened. I honestly didnt care about the girl much past the "omg where is she?" moment b/c there wasnt anything behind her role at the point she came up missing.

    The Walking Dead

So I was finally able to kick key personnel off the TV and watch this. Very busy show...in a good way too. A lot of overt and under the surface details in this episode as far as character development and etc. I liked it.
    Observations...

    1) Poor chickens; its already a rough life to begin, but broken chicken legs too? Oy.

    2) So Maggie and Glenn hit the store and again commence with shopping without doing an internal/external 360 of the location. Then Maggie gets pissed at Lori because she was almost eaten while on a run for personal items. Im wondering how pissed she would have been if a walker had crept up on them while doing the nasty and someone got bit when fumbling for a weapon.

    3) I dont see Dale as being nosey, a busy body or a meddler. Meddlers, gossip mongers etc rarely have good intentions and the connotation is the issue is usually none of their business. My take on his character is hes very much the concerned grandfatherly type that has age (see wisdom) on his side tempered with the need to guide people in the right direction for the greater good of the family. No doubt in my mind that they are all a family unit now for better or worse, until death do them part.

    4) Its been awhile sice I read the comic, but I remember thinking that Lori was a real nag at certain points. Good to see her TV character is staying true to form I suppose.

    5) I dont think Dale has much to worry about as far as Shane is concerned. It was a good tension building device considering everyone is saying WTF! reference the Sophia storyline (yaaaahhhhn). Im sure Rick has seen the same "character flaw" (I dont think thats an accurate way of putting it) in Shane that Dale has picked up on...Rick has known the guy his whole life. Ive known guys in the military that I would trust at my back in combat, but wouldnt trust around my wife. Just saying a lot of good people out there with some serious flaws and thats the real world.

    6) Sophia who?

    7) I cant call Herschel an idiot because his heart is in the right place and I have enough empathy to feel for his situation. I have always classified people in two categories, realists versus theorists and Herschel is the latter. Like Ive said before, he is a very religious person and this shows through his decision making process. Most religious people I know are theorists like Herschel and they usually see things in varying degrees of "what if this?" and "what if that?" Generally speaking, you never want a person like that in charge (theorists have their role to fill and its a strong one) because realists like Rick and Shane are the ones to make the hard choices to help keep people going. All I can say is...poor guy.

    8) Daryl becomes more cool and T-Dog less interesting (whens he gonna get eaten?)

Again, good episode and I would be as content as everyone else if Sophia was never mentioned again and the show just moved along.

I love her, but when moms does her moms thing, I would probably feed her to the zombies in a heartbeat. Just saying

And you'd think that Dale, being as old as he is, would learn to shut his mouth occasionally. I can understand why Glenn felt the need to tell his secrets; he has got two huge ones that could impact the group. However, Dale is apparently a meddler; he took what he knew, and decided he knew what was best for those involved. In regular times, those kind of people get ostracized; what happens to them in post-zombie world?
Someone is hoarding the TV at the moment so I havent watched the episode yet but whatever Dale did sounds like what my mom does pretty regularly and Im grown.

That no matter which sets you use your only given the first 5 same bonuses. i.e. 5 +6.25% recharge... In my build I have 8. Can anyone verify this?
The player you spoke to was right on the money...

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Rule_of_...e_Law_of_Fives

Worth pointing out for better clarification though:

"Castle further elaborated on the rule of five in I13 Closed Beta saying that the exclusion of more than five of the same bonuses is based on the name of the bonus and not its value. For example, a character can benefit from up to five global benefits of Luck of the Gambler: Defense/Increased Recharge Speed, which gives a global +7.5% bonus to Recharge Rate, as well as up to five set bonuses of +7.5% Recharge. That's because the first bonus is named "Luck of the Gambler: Recharge Speed" while the second is "Huge Recharge Bonus". One can find the names of the bonuses listed in the Combat Attributes window."

And the point about potentially funding US enemies is entirely valid. A Chinese RMT company is likely at least partially connected to the Triads or other organized crime. And organized crime, especially in a country with somewhat lax law enforcement like China, is not entirely picky about who they do business with. And China is in a perfect place, geographically, to end up funneling weapons and/or money through to insurgents in Afghanistan (though I'd bet it's more likely to be the Russian mob that does most of the organized crime to terrorist laundering).
Youre absolutely right sir/ma'am...I appreciate your input.
Can you post any links that explore the validity of connections between RMTers and insurgency operations in South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East? I need to brush up on this stuff.

    The Walking Dead

    ***COMIC SPOILER ALERT***

So the below is a quick snapshot of our friend Hershel from the comic's perspective during time spent at the farm. It shows the difference between the TV and comic as far as the people that are present in his group. Also, different areas point out how much of a religious guy he really is, Id say to the point of being fanatical, naive and idiotic all wrapped up in one. I wasnt trying to put a negative spin on his faith or religion, but people like this IRL have always bothered me. Anything good done by mankind is influenced by God while anything bad is not. If you actually believe in the basic principles of most religions...everything is actually under God's direct influence, good and bad alike (the reason for the ZA and the cure as well in this case).

"Things took a turn for the worse however one day. After Rick had discovered that he had been keeping the zombies inside of the barn, he had lambasted Hershel about the danger of doing such a thing. Hershel discovered that Rick had been killing them all, and argued using his belief about the disease and the possibility of a cure out of there somewhere that they didn't know about. All of this commotion distracted them from seeing an approaching zombie as it got closer to the property, and seconds following, lead to the barn being opened and a major attack occuring. Half of his children were bit and Hershel forced himself to use a gun to kill each of them before they reached the re-animation process. The situation grew even more hostile when he caught his daughter Maggie having sex with one of the survivors he met, Glenn. Being overly protective, he threw a fit, infuriated that she was defying both his own rules and the will of God. What she was doing was immoral, especially considering this person she engaged in sex with was a complete stranger. His attitude was rotten from this point on.

This led Hershel into a downward spiral, the worst he had been since his wife's passing. His personality turned grim and his mindset was narrowly focused on getting the survivors out of the area so as not to lose any more of his children, or even his own life. A fight ensued between everyone, as he refused to let them stay with him and his family after Carl was fully healed. This led to him calling them freeloaders, and then Lori, in a furious state, insulting him about kicking them out when they had no other place to go. All of this ultimately led the man to put a gun to Rick's head in order to show the rest of the group how serious he was and how much damage he could do.

They did end up leaving, with him keeping his children by his side. The event that had transpired earlier turned Hershel into even more of an emotional wreck, as he convinced himself that, because he was about to kill an innocent man, he must therefore be evil; not to mention a bad role model for the youngsters. He believed himself to be a corrupt indvidiual, and he was going to kill an innocent man."

And yeah I agree...I wish T Dogs chracter was replaced by the comic version of Tyreese and his folks. T Dogg is like the third wheel of a bike, I dont really see a reason for him to still be around in the show and if anyone took a vote about who should die next, Im sure he would win hands down.

With all of that, I read this online, "A popular speculation is that T-Dog may be an alternate personification as Tyreese from the comic series." In the comic, Tyreese and Carol end up together.

Cmon! Tyreese was the shite, T-Dog...not so much.

But I've got to say I can't really think of a "good" justification for keeping them around so things aren't looking good for a clean parting of the ways here.
Its pretty simple the way I see it...
We know hes a religious dude and like most people that have a blind faith in religion, he probably thinks God is going to wave a magic wand, drop a cure out of the clouds and make everything better for "the faithful". All these zombies will snap out of it and go back to being who they were before...friends, neighbors and kinfolk.

If Christianity is your thing, then you know the bible is littered with these kinds of personalities subjected to tests of belief...Abraham is a good example. Take one of my favorite stories, The Book of Job for instance. God asks Satan's opinion on Job and then God gives Satan the power to torture and maim Job and kill most of his family, children, loved ones, servants, livestock just to prove a point.

Hershel is Job and feels he and the rest of humanity are being tested since he has also lost a wife and kid I believe.
Like a George Michael song, just gotta have faith

    The Walking Dead

Its probably b/c I grew up in an urban environment and tend to be more wary (my mind is always working out the angles and bad scenarios that could happen) than I actually need to be or maybe its also b/c Im not 19 and horny every waking moment nowadays...but Im not giving the business to any hotties someplace out in the open like an abondoned store. I dont even like the idea of a couple of people going off together by themselves when its all said and done. Intact windows, cute farmers etc...I rather be overly cautious and say I finally got killed due to no fault of my own like being overun by a herd of walkers than b/c I took 10mins to have sex in an unsecure location. Call me crazy I suppose.

Taking zombies out of the equation altogether, theres also the human threat at this point. There are a lot of evil people in the world even now, can you imagine how uncivilized people will actually be in a world like TWD? They have all been lucky so far, but all it takes is a few Merle types banding together and coming across you and your girlfriend to turn that into a bad situation. You just possibly put yourself at risk of getting killed outright, ransomed for supplies, r-aped, eaten or even putting the rest of the community in danger etc...the fun factor versus the risk statement doesnt line up properly for me.

    - agreed, Maggie and Glen are just right for each other looking at the rest of the cast at this point even though I suppose T-Dog would have worked (kind of boring dude, should be the next to go); Darrell has his own vibe and doesnt need a romance to flesh out his character
    - yeah, I guess it looked more "secretive" following Lori out and about for the pregnany test instead of her just going to the bathroom
    - agreed and would have to boil/treat any water going into my mouth at that point...water for hygiene can be non-potable to a certain point (not sure what that point is though)
    - if the military was on the scene and given the order to fire at will, then they were just shooting without much regard to headshots...takes specialized training to get that proficient, most conventional forces dont train to that level

My play style varies between characters I play. I suppose I do tend to play more scrappers than blasters, but I really love my blasters and Corr's too.
In simple terms, if you enjoy playing melee toons...Bane may be the way to roll. If you enjoy ranged ATs, Huntsman can be an option.
Since the introduction of SoA, Ive thought of AR Blasters as being a weaker version of a Huntsman. A Huntsman can have buffs, debuffs, solid damage, pets etc depending on how its built. Its basically a Wolf Spider that has the versatility of dipping into the Bane or Crab power sets. Ill link a thread that helped me make my Huntsman way back when and let you decide for yourself. Good luck and happy hunting...

Indeed and someone should tell The Mirror and Evil Queen the same. Even though neither one of them are my "type" per se, theres no question in my mind whos the more attractive of the two.

Modern day Snow White scenario should go down like this...

    The Evil Queen -
(phone: Tammy, send in my executive VP, Mr Mirror immediately. He enters the office...) "Mirror! Who is the most attractive and appealing woman that youve ever known?"

    Mirror -
"Just my opinion boss, but at first glance...Ms Snow White from the secreterial pool is looking something delicious these days. Viewing the whole package though, you double majored and have degrees in 'Evil Queen Sorcery' and 'Granny Smith Apple Poisoning' with a minor in 'Creative Disguising'. You are the CEO of a major corporation that deals with all things fantasy...football, vacations, weddings. And dont forget, you are married to the most ballingest dude around. I mean the guy is all bling-bling this and bling-bling that....balla!
What does Ms White have on that? She's broke due to massive school tuition loans after dropping out of community college, drives a 1998 Kia and lives in a part of town that makes Camden, NJ look like Beverly Hills. All in all, Snow is hot...but girl, you got the Motts. Holla back if ya feel what Im saying."

    TEQ -
"Hmmmmmmmmm, very well put. You can return to your office for now Mr Mirror and definitely look forward to an increase in your Xmas bonus this year."

    <sidenote>
I think its these type of old school stories that mold girls early on into haters in the making towards their fellow womenfolk. Not too many fairytales out there with dudes trying to kill rival princes over who has the nicest castle or most amount of gold in the royal vault. They will fight over women, just like in real life (no poison apples usuallly involved though).
Hopefully this movie puts a better spin on the "damsel being rescued by the prince" scheme.

Lesson of the day...stop being a hater and work on your own shite.
  24. Im not sure how this patch ended up affecting my wife's AI IRL, but she cooked liver the night of the patch. She knows I hate liver, so I petitioned the devs about it.
    Still waiting for a response...

    Agreed.
Kristen as a stand alone element is attractive enough, but compared to Theron...jeeesh. Its like comparing (insert decently funny comedian of your choosing) to Pryor/Carlin.
