Because as we all well know, only women have those silly things like emotions and sensitivity. Manly men have no fear, lift millions of tons a day, play sports, and eat raw nails with onions for breakfast.

Quote:Well, 'tis better to be a fan of Ayn Rand than William Luther Pierce, to damn with faint praise....But we are at this point in the territory of a linguistic cul-de-sac; I was merely making what I felt an educated guess on the opinions of our lily-white savior who has deigned to grace us with the pure and wondrous thoughts from his higher immortal mind. I'm open to being wrong, after all.

Ah, that old chestnut. Written by an angry old Russian lady who never actually practiced what she preached. Libertarian porn at its best! The fact that's it's in the section marked "fiction" never seems to clue them in.

How about when an Incarnate Stalker uses Judgment while hidden, it adds the exact same Assassin's Strike bonus to each initial hit of each affected foe?
I've never gotten a stalker to level 50, yet... -
Quote:Did he really imply as such? That's not only crass, but also rather clumsily misogynistic. No weirder than it started out, really. Before editing, the OP indirectly made it clear that functional male genitalia were essential to knowing/making good movies. The references to neutering merely continue that opinion trend.

Quote:I believe Wil Wheaton put it much more succinctly: "Don't be a dick".Some of the other posts are interesting, but i've come to realize that at least one poster has nothing to offer, except perhaps to serve as an object lesson: "Hey kids, this is [what] ignorance by choice looks like. It's almost impossible to ameliorate and will happily advocate pain and suffering for anyone who differs with great pride and satisfaction. Try not to be like that."
I'd love to believe that young people who are being willfully ignorant will eventually grow out of it as they gain ever more experience from life and its diversity, but the sad reality is that most humans close their minds to new ideas usually by about the time they finish high school. Unless they go to college; but that just postpones their inevitable dogmatic stubbornness by about four to ten years. -

Statesman will be in the Freedom Phalanx infirmary, on total life support and quickly slipping away. Suddenly, another Marcus Cole from an entirely different reality comes bursting in, and he hooks Statesman up to a life transference machine...

Quote:7) dooooooooooooooooooom!!!this is my assumption on the chain of events.
1) statesman dies.
2) lord recluse helps stop the well from enslaving mankind, starting with you.
3) emperor cole becomes statesman.
4) the well is destroyed after we turn on it(after the final slot of the incarnate system is unlocked.)
5) the incarnate system stops receiving updates as an advancement path.
6) city of heroes 2 is announced. -
Quote:I hear it'll be something like, while heroes and villains join up to defeat the drug lords, the villains will occasionally be able to sneak around to look for all that drug money, so they can keep it for themselves. In the end though, the heroes will make them give the money back.In general, I don't have a problem with Villains having to team up with Heroes occasionally but IMHO, it's been overused in this game. I'm informed that the new Dark Astoria will have options for Villains but whether that's an actual separate story arc or just more options to kick puppies while doing essentially the same mission as Heroes remains to be seen.

Quote:I say Statesman may very well "return", but I will also say that there will be some big reveal later on that it turns out it's really the (former) Emperor Cole from Praetorian Earth, after he's been defeated and after the big Praetorian arc is done, and so he is now in hiding. What better disguise is there than "yourself"?But I think States will show back up again... and we will be shocked, shocked that there is gambling going on in this place.
Dun dun dunnnnn.... -
Quote:LOL, I think he's too late for that. Like, about seven years too late. Furries have been playing this game since... well, since the beta!See the feedback thread for the Coyote travel power for a prime example, in which, someone speaks for the alleged majority and how they fear the Coyote power will draw furries to this game.

Scythes are so before the common era. This is the 21st century, so let's get serious! Give us some riding lawn mowers. Or better yet, let us defeat our enemies with huge combine harvesters. I don't know about you, but if I saw one of those things coming my way, I'd start running!

I recall way back in 2004, still trying to learn all there was to learn in Paragon City while playing an Elec/Dev blaster (my first main). Inf was a lot harder to accumulate back then, and so I was always running short when trying to buy new enhancements for ever more slots as I leveled.
But as I was approaching level 15, I found that purchasing enhancements was getting easier, as I was earning more inf at higher levels, until suddenly I was able to go on a spending spree and deck out all my slots...
...with shiny new level 15 Training Origin enhancements.
Dual Origin what??? I didn't even realize there was anything other than TOs in this game!
What was worse was that I somehow got it into my head that you could only have one of any type enhancement in a power. So they all got one accuracy, one damage, one endurance reduction, etc... -
Sam, sometimes I really wish you were the one in charge of things for this game.

Those kinds of subs back then didn't submerge unless they really had to or their mission required it, if I remember my history correctly. Indy just held on and hoped that they didn't have to! Lucky for him, they didn't.
