I came across a new person last night in Atlas as well.
Checked and saw they had no badges at all.
So I sent a blind trade request (haha), they accepted.
Without really checking my character, I just proceeded to hit the 1 key and then six zeros. Figured it would be nice to let them start out with a million influence.
That prompted a ten minute conversation with them about the game, what to expect, the people etc etc etc.
I asked them to let me add them to my friends list *yes I know I don't need their permission, but I was being nice* and told them that I would keep checking in on them as they progressed. Told them to don't hesitate to call on me if they need help or have a question.
After I was done I went on my merry way with my lowbie alt and realized that I had given away the only million influence I had on that character haha.
Was fun! -

As I said, there is no real harm in asking. Chris is a fantastic force for good in this game. His talent for his job, and his passion for communications with the community have always been welcomed. Castle, BaB's, WarWitch, Jlove, and now David have been the main posters for some time now. I would just hate to lose a talent and personality such as Chris and thought to ask outright. -

You have always been one of the more vocal Developers that we have had. While it would be a shame to lose you and your talent, it would be understandable.
I guess with that "No Pm's" notification, a few of us have been wondering if you are still going to stay with the team is all.
Nothing was mentioned by Mellissa in her thread about new positions, but... seldom does a game announce they are losing a highly talented and valued Senior member.
We can all speculate on what the no pm's thread was about.. but I thought I would ask and see if you can or could answer.
SO... Chris....

Here I was... sitting around wondering why BaB's turn off his PM's. Wondering if he is leaving CoH etc etc etc.
Checked out 'home', The Justice Server.
Looked at the pitifully few new threads and thinking.. wow.. talk about being dead!

This is by far one of the very best productions that you have done for the City of games.
While I have always enjoyed each and every one that you have put together, this is one of the best by far.
Thank you for the time and effort you must have put into that video for us all to enjoy!

I have a second account for my kids to play.
I make use of it to help fill in where needed as well.
All around it hasn't been bad and has been nice having that 'second' account when needed. -
I do have a magic based character and he would definately go.
If it required the sacrifice, then he would have made it. He would however, have done his level best to not make it a one way mission!
Even my main and namesake would have gone if asked. Since he isn't magic, he would have hunted Statesman down and demanded to be put on Alpha and would have been on the front lines! -

I think there have been many who have been part of the community who would be deserving.
Some for information
Some for disinformation
Some for forum help
Some for game help
Some for humor
Some for being nice
The problem comes when you want to recognize them with something other than your good word. That equates to a simple popularity contest, and as such, some people will always feel deserving (Whether they should be or not).
IMHO, rather than something where others can feel bad for not having, if you wanted to recognize someone for their help......

Oddly enough... while we are in Steel that is what we are doing when we enter and exit missions.

The defender team isn't really too bad. We plow through things decently enough. There are usually three idiots... err I mean the three of us chose to use Empathy and then one or two others who play what they want.
Between all of us we generally have a lot of fun.
Let me ... bore you .... with the idea of this team.
Buddy says to me, our base should have the second level Rez Unit by now.
So I agree with him, yes we should
I let him know that we can get there one of two ways, we can farm for it. Something I generally don't enjoy setting up and doing. We could also make some Empaths and play them with the idea of taking and healing as much damage as possible.
Little did I know, he would like that idea.
So here we are, running into battle with only single slotted secondaries (so far) and taking the mobs down.. slowly haha.
When we reach big boy status, we should be a pretty decent team able to handle bigger and more challenges as we level up.
I mean, it is normal to fight all grays right???
Nah, we usually end up fighting orange and reds with the occasional purple thrown in for fun.

I am currently on a team with some buddies.
We are leveling up a team of empathy defenders.
One of my crazier buddies decided this would be a good idea. We are level 14 now (But will sidekick you if we need to), and he has not leveled once without us telling him what a Baddddd idea this is
We are just having some fun with the team and him, so ... anytime you want, come join in the fun.
