    MMO ART?

Gadzooks! I wouldn't want to meet any of these characters. I'd get stomped to paste by Roxstar, sliced to ribbons by Avo Prime and split six ways from Sunday by Axe Jack.

    Great pieces

    *pokes you all*

Fools! When will the humans ever learn? Soon they'll be getting bigger and bigger fingers to poke one another with and one day they'll create a finger so powerful it will poke out the entire Earth and destroy them all!
  3. Everyone likes Comrade Hero. Comrade Hero is people person!
  4. Now it would be better if Thor's Assassin and Doctor Doom decided to squish the Spider... but that's just my opinion

    Another great piece by John
  5. Very, very nice. Great action piece. Amazing what a whiff of catnip will do.
  6. I had one image removed as a link from the Forums in 4 years. If the Moderators want to keep the Screenshots and FanArt section "nipple free" I don't mind.

Leave me with excessive violence, improbable skintight and/or gravity defying costumes, and I'll be a happy camper.
  7. A while back I commissioned Peng-Peng from deviantArt.com to do some pieces based on my City of Heroes ladies.

Absolutely wrapped with the results. In order:

    Albtraum
    Graviton Girl
    Last Avatar
    War Bride

  8. Watch where you wag that finger

Cheesecake is fine, but Devil's Cake is not.
  9. Dang, sorry to hear about the canine assault. Hope ya get better soon.
  10. Obtenebration for the win. Immediately made me think of good ole Clan Lasombra
  11. Hmm... If the character in questioned was created using the CoX character generator doesn't NCSoft technically have ownership over related images under the EULA?

Wouldn't that make an artist's claim to copyright a moot point of contention?

Just pondering that scenario, although I've never had a problem with either NCSoft or any of the artists I've commissioned.
  12. The Moderator is your friend. The Moderator wants you to be happy. You are happy, aren't you citizen?
  13. I lurk a lot these days. Read the forums and occasionally post, but the Screenshots and Fan Art Forum has a great bunch of people and an amazing amount of talent on display.

    MMO ART?

    [ QUOTE ]
yeah but thats a real art forum , where fellow artists come together to share trade secrets and learn and teach .

This place is more about just showing off art , its sorta like the kiddie pool of art forums

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed. Well said

    Satisfaction

I've already contacted Wes (Lousy_Day) about my decision regarding MMOArt's latest offering. I'm willing to give Gill and Co. the benefit of the doubt.

I'm so impressed with what Wes has been doing with Comrade Hero and Graviton Girl that I'm quite happy to compensate him for his time and effort.

    CoH - Retail x2
    CoH - Collectors x2
    CoV x2
    Pocket D TP/Jump Jet Pack x2
    Wedding Pack x2

I don't feel I wasted my money and have no animosity at all about expanding the full game to everyone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I paid for the same (CoV Collectors Edition as well) and was curious.

Will those of us who purchased City of Villains and the additional content actually receive some sort of "game" compensation for what have essentially become redundant purchases?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You have already received the compensation - you already have access to it, and have for some time.

And why would you get compensation for addition content bought? They are not giving access to that away for free.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Two examples that spring to mind of having paid for exclusive content and having it opened up to general populace are:

    Pre-Order Sprints

    City of Villains Pre-Order Helmets

and of course paying for the City of Villains expansion to begin with.

Granted, none of these are game-breaking and I won't be canceling my 4 year old account as I love the game.

I'm just wary of CoX releasing expansion packs/promotional material that you purchase and then later making them free - as has been the recent case with EQ2.
  17. Heh. Reminds me of the RPG game Paranoia.

Trust Comrade Hero. Comrade Hero is Your Friend. Happiness is Mandatory! Are you Happy, Citizen?

I'm shocked people are even considering such things.

Comparison: You buy a new game - game #1. Three years down the line, the game company starts to give away game #1 as a free bonus to those who order game #2. Would you, as a customer who ordered game #1 demand compensation?

Or this - Command and Conquer, Marathon, Wolfenstein, Tribes and Sim City are all freeware now. Try going to one of the companies who own those and demand a refund for the game you bought a decade ago.

Hint: If you did, they would laugh at you. You bought a product and got several years use out of it. Just because an older product is discounted/used as a free promotion/made freeware does NOT entitle you to compensation. No business model works that way. It would be insane for them to do so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was curious about this, given the recent grumbles about EQ2 making multiple expansion packs free for download for all returning customers.

Out of all the MMO's that have come and gone (and stayed in one form or another) City of Heroes and City of Villains remains the one that I've keep active in over the past years. Definitely not for the graphics, but for the constantly evolving gameplay and innovations.

Oh well, Comrade Hero is probably more interested in Russian girls, so I will proceed with Rough 2.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Neither Comrade Hero or Graviton Girl show their age - both for different reasons and causes.

Mutual respect is more applicable to these two rather than mutual attraction.

And Comrade Hero is a friend to all People! *wink*

I think when Darkjedi says, "This one. Definitely," I should probably listen to him. I think I can see why. It has a single sweeping gesture line that connects the two heroes.

Wow, thanks for your in-depth analysis, SlickRiptide. Now I don't want to ditch the original so easily. Would it solve the mystery of this juxtaposition if Comrade Hero was hitting on Graviton Girl, holding something in his hand to get her attention? A flower perhaps...Infront Steakhouse dinner reservation for two? While it sounds fun, I think it may be trying to tell too much.

I will have to think some more before I decide on the final layout, but in the meantime, I am going to do some bronze studies so Atlas gets some credit for doing that tough pose in the background.

LadyJudgement, I have a DA account, but all I have uploaded there is a scrap piece from way back. I am hoping to get it up and running once I do a few more of these.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Really nice feedback and comments.

Personally Comrade Hero wouldn't hit on Graviton Girl, unless it was in an Arena match.

Comrade Hero was born in the 1970's.

Graviton Girl was born around the 1910's.

Bit of an age difference there
