You do realize this is a game, right? How is farming for a graphic or title "cheating."

I would moreso worry about farming for inf, farming for rare recipies, etc. Badges aren't even a status symbol, so what's the deal? And don't say, "well.. some accolades give temp powers" because the temp powers last 30-60 seconds and once they are used, you have 2 hours till you can use them again. So there is no "game breaking" advantage or disadvantage to farming badges.

And you don't see the other side of the coin? That complaining about how others choose to enjoy the game is a bit loser-ish as well?

I call this a stalemate. Move on.

Also, why the hell can't people read entire threads rather than think people are singling them out? I wasn't talking about you. If you would have seen the blanket post/insult southern_comfort made, you would have seen the outlandish comment was directed towards the idiocy of blanket statements.

The following works correctly:

Badge's change correctly when switching between male and female. They no longer get stuck, so no more males with female badge titles or vice versa.

The correct badges display based based on gender.

Sliders now preserve the genders body scale and changes made from your previous save. The gender changes do not preserve info from the other gender. I assume this is intended since not all genders have access to the same costume parts under the same names.

The AE now works and correctly identifies you as a female/male based on the gender tag.

The tailor does not show, locally or to others, as the "body type" model. It's been fixed!

What's not working is that the tailor is bugged that it doesn't show the character animating. So you can change the costume, but the body is frozen. No breathing, no aura animating, and no weapon drawing.

I think it's interesting they changed the GMOTD box. It no longer can be resized, the font is much smaller, and made it longer and reduced the width of it.

This isn't the military.

The thing I think funny is that after all of the changes to PvP, and after the PvP population died off, the remaining PvP community could care about badges and how they are earned. I mean, this would bring more people into YOUR community and build it back up again.

Sure, they get the badges by hook or by crook, but it still introduces another group of people to PvP. It might even win some people over to spending more time PvP'ing.

But, instead of welcoming people over, you have to shoot them down, insulting them for even attempting PvP for a reason other than pure PvP.

And speaking of "badgers cheating"... wow! I've seen more "cheating" through the PvP community (camping inside the opposite factions hospital by exploiting holes in PvP zones) than I have seen badgers cheat. Badges are meant to be earned. Exploiting entire zones for the purpose of griefing... that's a little more harsh, IMO.

I'm surprised, and appalled, that the l33tn3ss is still present and the insults still fly when your community is all but dead.

No official word on if merits drop since merits were implemented after the last time the dropships were taken down on virtue. If so, then it might be a good night for merit collecting. If not, a fun night of smacking down some Rikti!

However, last time people collected a ton of tier 3 inspirations from them. No badge, but fun none the less.

I'll take a crack at leadin'. I've traced those routes heroside for a while now.

Also, has anyone updated those maps since i14? The changed the dropship routes quite a bit to keep them from crashing into the MA buildings, so those routes might not be 100% accurate anymore.

I can definately do the heroside with Kerse on the 18th, but depending on the RL events of the 17th, I might not be able to use AC for the raid.

After dealing with the buzzing straight through for over 24 hours, I sprayed Raid Wasp Killer™ in it and everything seems to be fine!

Well, no.. not really.

I did open the sucker up and removed the fans. Turned a giant floor fan on it and fired the sucker up. Worked fine without the buzz. One by one I added a fan back and I found that the culprit is the one attached to the motherboard... kinda.

For the life of me there are NO PHOTOS of this fan anywhere online. I searched google and google images for over 2 hours and nothing came even remotely close to looking like the fan, so I'll show you what it kinda looks like:

Imagine that with a cone over it that make it twice as big...

Anyway, what I did was removed the fan itself from the silver metal "thingy", plugged the fan it without the silver part and viola... no buzzing.

One problem... the motherboard started beeping "Dixieland" (no lie.)

So, I attached the metal part to the fan, attached it to the motherboard and presto! Dixieland stopped playing and the computer booted perfectly... except that the buzzing was back.

My knowledge of PC's extends as far a being able to replace the harddrives and powersupply. Anything beyond that is a mystery.

Apparently, instead of a 24 hour buzzing sound, it now lasts for about 15 seconds then I hear a "click" then the buzzing stops for about a minute before starting up again.

So, as I see, the fan works without the metal piece though the motherboard doesn't. The metal piece (or the chip case under it, attached to the motherboard) seems like it's the problem. But why? The metal thing doesn't loot like a conduit or anything, but apparently it's needed for the motherboard.

Anyone know what this is and if there is any way to fix it? I assume buying a new fan and metal thing attachment will do it?

Also to note: I had this SAME EXACT problem one year ago. Was still under warrenty wioth Best Buy, took it in, and waited 3 months for them to give it back to me. Their diagnosis: the motherboard and power supply was fried. Although they replaced both, the fan was the same, but didn't have this problem till just now.

Just becuse you PvP doesn't mean you are a better gamer because you stick to one area of the game. Badge hunters, however, HAVE to experience all parts of the game, either by hook or crook, to obtain the badges.

So, before you stumble off to your little play land, here's your rock... go crawl back under it.

See, the problem is with communication, the definition of farming, and what was being farmed.

The developers do not like farming. They know it's not going to stop, so they allow players to do so without harsh penalties (please, read on before making an assessment from the first three sentences.)

However, they do not want players to use the MA for farming since it was not its original intent. They said over a year ago that they were not making the MA to use for farming, yet people did.

They cracked down on MA badge farming by removing badges that promoted farming WITHIN the MA system, something they stated they didn't want, yet didn't see how conjested the MA would become.

They cracked down on MA XP farming by datamining and suspended players and blocked out toons that used the MA to powerlevel at unbelievable rates.

They cracked down on MA ticket farming by placing a ticket cap on all maps.

They cracked down and removed explotative MA maps that allowed players to earn tickets, XP, and badges by using the map to their advantage to avoid "normal" gameplay to obtain the items.

Although they disapprove of farming, they know it's not going to stop. Which is why you will not see great measures taken to stop farming elsewhere in game.

For now the UK does, but it will be changed to SyFy once branding rights can be established in the UK.

When ECW (wrestling) debuted on the Sci-Fi channel, the WWE (the corporate company of ECW) agreed to focus more on doing "fantasy" storylines, mainly involving a vampire character named Kevin Thorne.

They even threw in skits where cheesy Sci-Fi characters would get beaten up regularly, then using the platform to promote "high budget" Sci-Fi series like BSG.

However, due to the high ratings it brought in and fan complaints of forcing the "dumbing" down of the product more than it already was, Sci-Fi agreed to dropping the "fantasy" angles as long as they continued to heavily promote their Sci-Fi originals on the other WWE broadcasts, such as Monday Night Raw on the USA network. Regularly you would see stars like Edward James Olmos in the front row where they would then promote BSG on Sci-Fi.

Also, Sci-Fi and USA are owned by the same parent company so there isn't really any reason for competition between the networks. They probably saw that the changes USA made, from its original inception, drew in more viewers by expanding its broadcasts from Monster Truck shows and telephone auctions (yes, USA network was a lot different in the early 80's) to showing major films and creating original programs with known talent.

And Finally...

With the changes to SyFy, they are supposed to be focusing less on the poorly produced shows and poorly produced original movies to focus on more high budget things. This means they will have less original products until they can create a revenue surplus and have to welcome in some other genres to increase the revenue to pay for the costs of the high budget stuff.

Personally, I welcome the change. If they start producting more shows like Warehouse 13, with a good budget, I can see them giving other basic cable channels a run for their money.

Ok, so off and on for the past month I've heard what sounds like a nest of bees inside my desktop tower. For the record, there's none in there.

I know it's not the hard drive since I took my main C drive out and replaced it with the backup C drive. Still the same buzzing sound.

I've cleaned the fans but still the sound persists.

If I gently tap the back of the case, right under the power supply and right above the video card, the buzzing temporarily goes away, but comes back within minutes.

So, I'm thinking it's either one of two things: either something is loose and the vibration from the fan is causing the buzzing sound, or the motherboard is dying.

I doubt the motherboard is dying because it was replaced less than a year ago.

So, anyone else come across a buzzing sound from inside your tower that wasn't cause by the hard drives?

Also, if it helps, it's a Gateway 838gm.

After reading Twixt's website, he would never have written the article he did, that became a "news" story, if i13 PvP changes never took place. The reason he left the game wasn't because his research was over. It was because he had less people to grief.

He then focused on what the game became and used it as a platform to show his dissapointment.

So, in essence, his griefing lives on although he is no longer a player. Except, this time he's not picking people off at random in RV... he's griefing the game and players by "exposing" the anger he encountered.

Back on track, sure it stinks getting costume pieces removed and replaced with updated versions, but it's not going to stop. Think of it like the auto replacing the horse and buggy. Sure, some people liked it from the start, but many thought it was a device crafted by the hands of Satan himself.

The reason Invention Origin Enhancements can't combine is because, no matter what level you are, the IO's scale to you. Meaning, a level 50 could use nothing but level 25 Damage IO's. Instead of having to combine to get + or ++ enhancements, the total value of the IO increases to your level 50.

Sure, they aren't as strong as level 50 IO's and most level 50 SO's, but they still are better using than just using your base (non-modified) powers.

Edit:

As Red stated above, your powers might not take certain IO's. If you have healing powers you can slot regular or IO Healing sets, but you can not use the Advanced Healing IO sets unless your power specifically says it can. Some of the newer "advanced" sets are additional sets that only work with certain Archetypes.

For the record, the badges weren't slashed and burned. They are just not being used at this time. If they were to fully remove them, they would have removed the names from the game, seeing as there are plenty of people that still have old badge names selected on their characters.

Think about it... 90 badges equals 90 less pieces of artwork to be made down the line and 90 less new names to come up with.

You will see these badges/titles again, just not associated with the MA.

Sorry the costume contest didn't go as planned. Someone should have told you that Kronos can't spawn in Atlas... >.>
