    To the team:

Yes it is nice to finally see some base edit love. I just hope that it doesn't stop there and it doesn't take years again to see something new for base editing.

    /e golf clap
  2. I am not getting overly excited because I'm sure the devs will let us down again. But I must say that I think the committee is an excellent idea and yes we need to rally the troops. The more members on the committee, the more we can show the devs how many want to see change. It is a new approach to an old problem and I think its better than just sitting around and doing nothing.

When you start talks, throw out the idea of Base decorations in booster packs. I am sure the reason that they have not spent time on us boils down to cost and platform. If they can spend the time to make new emotes and costume pieces for our money, then they can spend the time to add a couple of base decorations into their next booster. Yes they would have to have other things in the booster so that it would sell across the game community and not just target us.

I also hope that the committee isn't just a select few and the rest get left outside with no voice. I wish you luck and would love to join to help out.
  3. Ouch thats not what i wanted to hear. Thanks for the info, now my dreams of finishing my base are crushed lol. well so now i face the question of, do I want to tear it apart and rethink it, or live w/ a partially completed base. for right now I think I'll live with it.
  4. LOL, yeah but I am not about to tear apart my base yet again to re-do it. I have already done this too many times in the past that I have lost count. I guess I will have to wait and hope that the devs will show mercy and eliminate the cap or make it some unattainable number
  5. I have a fair amount of salvage bins, But if you seen my base you would realize why my count is so high. I have multiple levels in rooms and numerous desk made walls. My prison room cells have bars that have electricty running through them. I've tried to add great detail in my rooms. sadly most are only at about a 50-75% completetion.
  6. Has anyone ever hit the 20K mark with their base decor? Im at 19,464 and if you can't go over 20k, I am screwed because I won't be able to finish my base.

    very nice!
Thanks again. You can see why I get worked up with base edit. I enjoy it a lot and take great pride in the work on my base. It was a pleasure to give you the tour. Yours is one of the most unique bases I have ever seen and would be a Pvp nightmare for the opposing force lol.
  8. Well this was a suggestion to see what peeps thought of the idea. You have excellent points shade and blade. If you noticed the chat w/ MrHassenpheffer and myself you can see that i realized its worth waiting. Thanks for your comments. Im just frustrated with no reply from the devs. Base edit is one of the things in this game that i truely enjoy.
  9. well I think Impish Kat did an excellent job updating the consolidated list, hopefully we will hear something soon.

Dam policies getting in the way

what tours you giving? I always like to look at new bases for insperation.
  10. Good point, I wasn't trying to rant, just suggestion to a new approach. Things would of been easier if the devs would have posted a thread telling us that they are looking at it internally and once the hash out the details they will get back to us. That is an answer.

I am not slamming the devs at all, I know they are a small group and they do work hard for us; just would have made more sense if they would have gave a simple vague answer up front. I think that would have been all that was needed to show that they are listening to us. The total silence doesn't do that.

So yeah keeping quiet at the moment is the better approach. Thanks for the info.
  11. Ok I haven't heard that, thats new to me. Was their a timeline? If that is the case I can agree to waiting a little longer for an answer.
  12. Thanks for the constructive criticism I will keep that in mind in the future. Again I apologize that the post came out that way. I took something I typed on a word document and copy pasted it here. It didn't look that bad until it posted.
  13. I am simply throwing a suggestion out there, trying a new approach to get an answer. If this is not the way to go about it, what do you then suggest we do? The list has been on the forums for three years you say. We haven't seen an answer in three years. I don't think that way is working. If anyone else has a better suggestion, post it.....lets work together on this to get an answer.
  14. Why do you think it will muddy the waters? Have you gotten a reply from the devs on your post? Why must we be afraid to ask (Not Demand) for a simple answer? We pay money every month for a service, the devs supply that service. As a customer, I think we have the right to get an answer about the service we are paying for. We are not demanding really anything here, just simply asking for an answer. I see no harm in that.

Really!? Thats a 'crock'! It becomes a vicious circle and nothing ever comes of it. New base items for base edit would help put life back into the game. Some of my COH friends are addicted to base edit and have some very cool and unique bases. The devs should make an effort to tour some of these unique bases and see first hand what players are doing. This would give them ideas for additional content. I would pay for a 'Booster Pack' for base items if it ever came out. Good ideas COHjunkie! Keep up the good fight!
Ok I have gotten the same generated email, post on forums the devs read them everyday, but I think that if everyone banded together and sent the same subject heading Base Edit Suggestions, we might get a different response. It might not work, but we stand to lose nothing and possibly gain everything from a little effort. All I am saying is we have tried other tactics in the past and they havent produced any results; so lets try a new tactic and if it doesn't work, atleast we can say we tried again, but more as a whole this time. What does everyone think? I see atleast 51 views and only 2 replies. That could have been 51 petitions to support with the same subject line and might have sent up a flag to them so that they elevate it to their superiors.
  16. Ok I got some messages that the post was hard to read because the hyper link to impish kat's post came out like purple for some reason so here it is again, I hope it posts better this time, sorry about that.

I have taken the time to sit here in front of the computer screen and read through the numerous posts about new base content. I agree that we have been ignored and forgotten. I agree we need some new life in the base edit realm. But the numerous posts have failed to get even a simple response from the devs. I mean wouldn’t we be happy with just that one simple thing? A response from a dev saying, “Hey we hear you guys and we have been talking it over, but the …blah….blah ….blah… is why we cant do it right now” With just one simple response from a dev, we would recognize that our voice has been heard. That is one key thing I have noted from the posts, peeps are disappointed that they get no acknowledgement and acknowledgement is what? It lets us know that we have been heard and that is in its self something that we have yet to see. Now we aren’t asking for an entire issue be devoted to base edit. All we ask for is a couple of new items every now and then. If cost is the main factor, then come up with Base Decorations Booster Pack #1. I don’t think that there is a player out there that would say, “Hell no I am not paying money for some new base decorations”. So if numerous posts on the forums aren’t working, and peeps have talked at the conventions to WW and posi and got nowhere with it; where do we turn to next?
I say we should all send in a petition under the suggestions and comments and label it “BASE EDIT SUGGESTIONS”. In the content of the petition, we need to state the following: We have done as you have asked; we have made numerous attempts on the forums to simply get a response from the devs for our pleas for new base content. These attempts have all failed to generate a response from the devs. We have included a consolidated list of things we would like to see in the future via this link to help direct the devs to one area in the forums in particular. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=220395 . If the cost is a concern that won’t allow you to pursue the issue any further, can’t you make a Base Decorations Booster Pack #1 and help compensate the cost through the players? Please help us in generating a response from the devs. A simple post on that forum link is a great first step to all of us, thank you.
I think the main reason we have failed up to this point is that we have simply relied heavily on the forums and sure some have talked to the devs at the conventions (But really is that dev who has talked to thousands of peeps going to remember everything), but we haven’t sent up a flag to voice our concerns. Don’t you think that if support received 100 petitions or more from today through this weekend, all labeled BASE EDIT SUGGESTIONS, and they were all from different players that it wouldn’t send a big flag up? One it suggests to me that we are all organized and we are all trying to see one thing, a response from a Dev. I know we have a dedicated dev that is devoted to base edit but pulled continuously to other areas to work and has no choice but to neglect us. Well wouldn’t that tell the devs that hey maybe we should put the devoted dev back to their original task? Or maybe even respond to us. So I ask you all to rally to the cause and try this new suggestion. What can it hurt and it will only take a minute of your time, which might be all we need to get the one true thing we want to see, our voices heard through the response of a dev.

  18. Well ok base builders, why don't we all send in a petition to support saying we want new content for bases. Tell them we have made our pleas on the forums and direct them to Impish Kat's post
    Consolidated Base Concerns, 5/2010
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=220395. The reason we are sending you this petition is that we have done what you have asked and used the forums, but we still have not received an answer from the devs and that was our understanding; If you post on the forums the devs read them everyday and we would get some type of response. I mean it can't hurt right? I am sure the only thing we will get back from support is an email saying post your concern on the forums because the devs read those everyday, but atleast its a new approach to an exsisting problem.
  19. Yes I am happy too that they brought back CoP, now the mish computer isn't a dust collector anymore. They could do so much more with it though. They should make TFs & SFs that when completed as an SG will reward your sg with decoration items. Instead of the vet reward where they gave you statesmans mask, recluses mask, manticores bow; they should have done a SG TF that rewarded your sg with those items for beating them in that TF.

How about a contest where they judge the best looking small, medium and large SGs, the best themed sg, the most consistant designed sg, ect and have that displayed above the sg toons names for all to see. That might draw in some of the peeps that like to show look what i did, even though it would be a collective thing to some degree. Overall it's the base editor that developed the design, collectively as a whole though, the sg got them there with earning prestige so that the base could be decorated.
  20. First off, I would like to say great job on compling yet another list of base items requests. But does anyone else feel like I do, that feeling you get when you bang your head against the wall, or you could get a better response from a wall, then you can from a Dev! I mean how many times do we have to post ideas in the "Forums", because the Devs read them everyday. But if they really do read them, why don't they respond to our posts? I mean since the conception of the base came about, peeps have being requesting new items. How hard is it really to incorperate some of these requests. People want pool tables, slot machines, vending machines, ect, ect, ect... Don't we already find these particular items in missions that we play? Yeah Im sure that they are already there. So why do the devs ignore the base edit players?
