well i kinda shut the door on with 2ndarys... but SS is gold so sticking with it.
but how is nrg armour i like the animation 2 it and fits a costume i have saved. but pure sets scare me a little. sence u only have the one layer of defence. but i may be over looking some fine point i just dont understand.
how wood a SS/nrg be. wood it be a good toon for someone thats broke. or is it more of a need a little Inf to truly get him started. -
aim for S/L def cap 40-45% depending on how much recharge an other def u are after.. get your basic kentic combats in your ST attacks one thare 4 slots and a mako once thare 5. dark has alot of ST so at 3.?(cant remeber nowhare near my comp to check) it totals up pretty nicly. u can if u have the spar slots and skill pick 6 slot taut for a nother 3.?
S/L well cover almost everything out thare and what isnt S/L dullpain can cover. thow it cant hurt once u have your S/L cap to get a few other sets that add so nrg/neg to fill in the 2nd most commin 2 attack. cold/fire are rare so not needed more of an after thought with them. -
brutes,scrapers and tanks all need a set made Purely for them. that only they get.
like brutes geting an armour with a build in fury generator or something so it cant realy be ported.
scrapers geting a armour with a +to crit chance making them crit more often.
tanks i dont know but someone may have na idea.. -
it does suck. but as a brute u arnt ment to be taking all the spawns hits just enof u can get a healthy fury bar. so crazy def isnt needed that much. but ice wood still be easy and semi cheap to cap for atleast S/L and when it comes down to it thats all u realy need.

thow i19 may be a ways off wood a ss/wp be safe to build w/o stamina now.
currently got him to only lvl 6 but injoying him alot. he seem very hard to kill and does amazing dam and Fury is already very easy to get into adding 130% dam probly be able to have it into the 150-170 range before even geting rage. and rage well just make it scary.. at this point investing some inf into him is very likly he is just that fun already.(atm it look like he is going to end up my mian for a bit my tank is going to end up stalling out for a bit while i play the brute. get some inf then ill just build my tank up with IOs so when i play him agian. the exp boost from day job + having a nice IO set up well make him alot easyer to play) -
problem with giving it more def yada yada is. brutes are like tanks but at the cost of making thare def suck. they do crazy dam. heck i wood love 2 see all tank attacks get a dam boost but not goin to happen. so why make ice Armour the best Def set for brutes giving it a .5 more def boost then other sets doesnt sound like alot but can make a huge defrence.

well best way to look at it is what comic book "brutes" are thare i can only think of 3
HULK- hulk comics-hero brute- SS/ wp or invis depends on comic.
juggerknot- xman-vill brute- ss or nrg melee / invis depens on comic agian
rhno-spydy man-vill brute- ss/ invis all the same some commicns he is just a /inivs with super speed... -
ice melee and ice armour wood need same major changes fore brute...
but as a now lover of ice melee i wood love to see it on brutes thow with a few changes to make it more "brutish"

-lower the -recharge and - slow effect to 50% or lower of what it is on tanks
- Frost into a PBAoE
-Ice Patch into the same thing but does a small amount of dam each time it drops someone.. like at lvl 50 no enhancs 35 dam a hit(take in it only does 5 enemys so i think that dam wood be fair)

-lower effectiveness for + def + resist (normal
-iccicles more dam 11-14 vr the 8.9 it does now
2 me it wood work well with above and a few more changes i may not c. or have over done, -
ss/wp seems like a good plan. i have always been scared of SS becasue rage seems to be have a pianfull backlash... but with 5 recharge SO in thare i can make it purma and aviod that.... lol yes i well slot 5 SOs in it for my broke poor man build...
but ill figer build out with IOs and that l8tr once i get him into teh mid 20s and decide if i want to put alot of Inf into him. ty for the help.
p.s i plan on fly travel power. and geting AS from it for extra knock and its ok dam.(figer just accc and recharge and use it to replace brawl as the auto fire fury builder. -

most up front problem i can see is u may be hiting attack skills and delaying the auto cast just a little 2 long.

Brutes to me are just tanks that toke one to many shots to the head. said F this and whent on a kill spree.

currently lvling and DA/ice tank...(cant solo worth crap... or well takes sooooo painfully long dont want to solo it) so when i cant find a group(sometimes can only get on at l8t hours) i wood like to play a brute sence its more or less the same AT just defrent mindframs.
tank- get agrro to save groups lifes but deal with low dam high survivel.
brute- get agrro to do more dam and have soso survivel
well 2ndary for brute well be.
/WP - all around good
mian is whare i run into problems.
i dont wont the folowing.
axe/ - just dont like any of the axe models.
WM/- first char i ever made way back in the days on friend accout was a WM loved him but want to do something new(he was a lvl 46 shield/WM tank when i stoped playing)
rest are free game.
my goals are the folowing
-good soloer
-good dps
-semi good on teams( i well group him ever so often he well be in defrent lvl range then tank most of the time)
-cheap... like i dont NEED IOs to be good with him. -
i normaly see fire/invis/wp/shield seem the most commin hands downs... folowed by SR/stone/dark then elec and nrg are like the unloved armour but nrg seem like a powerhouse.

soft caps s/l(well .4 off) fire/cold/nrg .2 off neg 17% psy.
to me thats seem epic..

Dark/ice sounds like a nice combo. first 20 lvles i am just goin to just screw around abit. and use 2nd build(below or what ever u guys turn it into) once i go hero side. i tend to like body mastery because of the 2nd stamina it gives me. but open to others.
so i made an attempt at a build. i caped S/L def. rest are around 20% or beter
resert are 30+ with S/L/psy 70+

re-did post.
after playing a bunch of other ATs to try and not be the tank for the god knows how many times now. i cant deny i am one. after started to see a trend a was doing with all my other chars(all goin to be striped and delete to give my tank a good off a start as i can..(sadly maby 500k)
1) i almost always take the lead
2) i almost always take the alpha strike... yes even on my blaster..
3) i cant help but feal the need to protect the paper AT.. even when i am the most paper..
DA is very loved by me. so wood love to make a DA tank.
2ndary its down to fire, war mace , SS , elec, maby ice.
my plan is 2 just be the tank.. that its. no farming no soloing(if i can help it) no av soloing yada yada...
just TANK thats it....
so what 2 combos wood best fit the 'just be a tank' way of life. then once i get home ill take an attempt at a try at freaken slot build and an IO build. and post the build for the combo i think i can best set up. -
this is my own Q... why is every Fire/psy farming or teaming build i see. isnt bothing with def they all seem to aim for 50%+ S/l reset and recharge(recharge i get purma dom and hasten and almost perma of the regen/revover boost skill.) but why no def just S/L reset is the regen from teh regen boost skill that great that geting a tone of def isnt needed and sloting for more rechage and maby acc and dam worth more then the def. sence u need to take away from alot to get the def.

cool well he prefured the look of /psy so now a build..
i know little to nothing about building a perma/soft caped char.... best i can porbly pull off is ether 1 or the other.
wood someone mind posting a very basic(like cheap builds(something he could afford while lvling up) and doesnt need to be soft caps or perma just a this-well-do tell u get some inf to work with.) and tell i19 comes out and changes how to build him completly.
then once he gets higher and learns the game more he can come to the forum 2 beter fine tone his char.
k now for the dum Qs he has..
mace mastery shield.. is it a shield or an aura. and what colur so he can work his costume around it now(told him its pointless to know now but wont lession to me)

and last he said to help who ever is welling to give him a basic build what power polls he kinda wants to use

if he goes red side and gets say mace mastery can he still use it on blue side.

fire/psy/fire or fire/fire/mace (seems less end painfull but less dam also but not by alot)
but the above Qs on def. i told him with fire mian u want S/L (he has no skillz with mids nor do i)

he is stuck on a trail accout tell payday(thurs) he tryed an elec/earth fowed it fun but didnt like how elec fealt and earth was just 2 end heavy for his liking even after hiting lvl 8.
his goals arnt much just play the game. try and team alot but be able to solo if he has 2. and use it as a half asked farmer.(he plans on playing the market but sometimes u do just need to farm)
range dom seems more his way. but he isnt sure what combo to use.
and what to build for like range def S/L def or just forgo them and rely on his control.
he said he doesnt want mind control or earth assualt at all so drop them off the list. he also plans to go hero side. so take that into account when it comes to APP pairing.

Gilia i changed your build up a bit. around lvl 40(or right from the start ill go red side) for mace mastery. so ended up with below. got perma hasten perma power boost. so rain is at like a 14 sec recharge now lol...
