  1. Great work Oathbound. I can see why Pyro chose you as well. That space looks luxurious and yet stately.

I'm liking the firepit as well and the multi-level stair steps around the seating area plus the red wooden
cabinets has always been a favorite facade of mine.

support for TRIM) and the first DX11 videocards hitting the shelves getting a custom built PC has never looked better.

I have two builds already scheduled for the week after BF and Pyro's is looking to be #3 but there is still time to get in on the deals.
If you were ever thinking about getting something custom now is the time!

Contact me ASAP so you don't miss out.

If I can get it to boot (not looking good so far), I should be able to run a CHKDSK, and might be able to get things working. Fingers crossed, but I wanted you to know before Saturday.

I'm really trying not to throw it out the window at this point. I spent a lot of time hyping up this event, and creating a MA storyline for it. All for this to happen. Sorry to those that had planned on participating...I promise that we will have this event.

ChristopherRobin...get those specs for Ultra Mode ready, quote me somewhere near what we had talked about, and I'll have you an answer by middle of next week. Daddy's gettin' a new toy!

    Sorry again guys...

    Pyro
No need to apologize buddy it happens and don't worry I'm going to custom build you the most awesome rig you have ever seen...
one that will smack Ultra Mode around and tell it ...betta have mah moneh!

As for the hard disk clicks, Obsidius is correct DO NOT run checkdisk. CD (checkdisk) is bad in your case for two reasons

#1. Mechanical clicking is a sign of physical hardware failure and CD can only repair (some) types of software failures so
it will not solve your problem... in fact by forcing such an intense scan of the whole disk it
can greatly speed up the onset of permanent failure.

#2. CD is data destructive in it's repair attempts. i.e. what it can't make sense of it deletes. I have much better professional
grade tools that are not destructive and attempt to recover and correctly restore what cannot be read.

The clicks of doom (assuming you have correctly diagnosed it) usually mean it's just a matter of time. The only reason
you should turn on your machine at this point is for data backup purposes. Get what you can from the disk and power it off.
The next step is you have to decide how important the data (what you haven't backed up yet) is to you. If it's worth having
back then you should look at either a data recovery service (they can be insanely expensive) or putting the drive
into an external enclosure (spearate from that computer and with it's own power source) and attempt to pull an image of
the drive onto another disk. If you are not comfortable with doing this I have all the hardware and software tools to
do either for you and I have personally recovered more than 20 damaged drives (4 of them were IBM's with the click of doom)
with about a 95% data recovery rate, we can discuss this further by way of PM's (or if that was your one and only comp
then when you next check your messages at the library or on a friends machine PM me your number and I'll talk ya through
    your options over the phone).

I'll get you back up and running one way or another buddy.

My advice? DO NOT boot off of the hard disk. DO NOT run CHKDSK. If you have the option of connecting the disk to another computer, do that. Back up anything you can onto a removable hard disk, DVD-Rs, or whatever you can grab. Because the more the disk runs, the more data you'll probably loose. Forever.

If you don't have that option, and you have important stuff on the disk, pay for a professional to back up what he/ she can.

Of course, if you don't have any important data on there, like family pictures or your music collection, chuck the hard disk out the window and buy a new one.
    Good solid advice.

    Good News:

    1) Got it to boot without the DOOM CLICKS

    2) Found a portable 1 GB memory stick

    3) Managed to transfer all Tax Info, resumes, wedding pictures, etc.

    4) Made sure all important Art was on my DA page

    Bad News:

    1) CLICKS of DOOM during CoH log in
(I know, I know...I just wanted to see if it would do it)

Thanks again for the heads up Obsidius...now I'll just get a sledge hammer and delicately remove the sucker. Might just take the tower down to the local Geek Squad place, and charge them $5 per swing of the hammer (picture Office Space scene).

    I'll keep you posted!
Glad to hear you go the most important stuff backed up. Keep me posted on your progress and if you need any help on that.
Meantime I got several spec outs ready to go within your price range I just need to ask you some questions to custom
tailor the best setup for you and I'll get cracking.

    Bye guys

Until next time tuter... like spring break.
Study hard, enjoy your time off and we'll see you soon.
  5. Very nice linework and like everyone else here I love the pattern work on the legs you did.

Two suggestions I had (hopefully a little constructive criticism is ok?)
A little more contrast on the skin and between the various hues in the hair so the image looks less like color flats.

On the hilt of the sword I cannot tell if that is supposed to be a crescent moon or a "raised" circle. If it is a moon design but on the same level as the rest of the hilt maybe a shadow or light effect that crosses the line bewteen the circle and moon to show that it's flat.

If it's intended to be a raised circle and the part that looks like a moon is the side of the circle then the blade and guard need to be rotated to reflect this.

Overall it's a very nice piece... and lurk less!
  6. Gah I get buried in new computer builds for a day and you go and have a birthday... the nerve of some people!
Happy Birthday Py and sorry I'm late in saying so.

P.S. Wanted to do a quick sketch for your birthday but everyone seems to be doing Pyro Nympho and Natrix
lately so I thought it was high time Tee Kayo got some art love.

Hope your B-day was a "Total Knock Out" buddy.

This is my fire/ice blaster Grill N. Chill. On these two costumes, I found good use for the "blend" feature on costumes. On his "bodysock" look, I suggested a temperature shift by starting with a darker blue in the boots blended with a lighter blue. legs featured the same lighter blue with a light orange. Top was a light orange blended to a red.

On GnC's Golden Age outfit, I used a nearly identical concept, but I used the belt as a dividing line, and ran the blends just on the top, legs, and internal cape.

I found black makes an eccelent trim color with the blended outfits. It adds weight to the look and keeps the colors from getting too loud. You can't see it here, but its the sole external color on the cape.

Oh, and if you look closely at the bodysock-look's face, you'll see behind the fiery-eye aura that I used the wraps glasses, which allowed me to use the blend one last time with a blue/orange blend.
Did you have a link to a pic Rodoan or is Starkitten supposed to visualize it in his/her head?

Also Star that link to your characters appears to be down you may want to check it and what's your character's name?
The name can sometimes help with an idea.

Also is she science and tech based? A mutant? Where do her powers come from or is there a favorite costume piece you have
that can be built around? Anymore info would help.

    Edit: Ah that's better Rodoan.

  15. Cool that looks to be Amerikatt (sp?) and David Nakayama... I was thinking other posters on the forums (well technically David IS a forumite now ) but hey if you're gonna go, go big!
I've seen Amerikatt post pencil sketches before if memory serves and she would be puuurrfect for the Hot Pencil (bad puns already? and it's not even noon yet... gonna be one of those days ).

Personally I would be curious to see what DN could pull off in under 10 mins with just a pencil and none of those fancy shmancy Copics.

    ------ Ninja Run! -----------

This has got to be my favorite new power to come along in a looooong time.

    Hi, I'm back

I'm sure it's long before I started paying attention to the forums but welcome again.

Out of curiousity what brought you back/what made you leave?

A bunch of "old crowd" have come back in recent weeks and I'm wondering what's prompting it.
Trying out that other hero "game" and then returning when they realize it's no CoH? Something else?

It's even funnier that it's a civilian (if only we could do this to civilians lol) with his hand sticking up
like he was about to say hi. I'm guessing the hero finally got tired of rescuing civies and then getting
    bumped everytime one walks past.

I always crack some joke when the pool table comes up...
also when I hurl the kitchen sink.

P.S. The one thing I can think of that would make this even funnier is have the billboard be one of those adds
for Chris Jenkins... you know the whole "been injured in a superhero related incident? You deserve CASH...
and a new pony... call 555----" (ok so that's not verbatim... they never actually give you the pony ).

Actually there is a phone number on the billboard is that what you were thinking of Grey?
