  1. The sharp noise brought Kruth'T's attention to the bunker.

<Arms Master Waires> “Alrighty, step forward to be scanned”

"i guess that answers that question." He said softly.

Actually, Kruth'T was only a little surprised by the hologram. It seemed odd to him, that their Id's weren't being inspected in person. Then he recalled that not everyone in this place were safe to be around, and the arrangement made a little more sense.

When he called for the next person Kruth'T allowed Orchid to go. Mostly so he could study the images' uniform better. Again he filed away the anomalies for latter refection.

After Orchid went, Kruth'T steeped forward and was scanned.

"What do we need to now?" Kruth'T asked the image polightly.
  2. <Ella>“I am sorry Kruth’T” There was a slight apologetic tone in her voice “I don’t think that they use it for that purpose, at least I have never seen anyone training here, except for the Clinic’s own security staff. But it certainly sounds like a good idea”

"I see." Kruth'T said, noticing the few security people that were using the field. Actually, the few people using the field emphisised the size of the area. Kruth'T filed his observations for latter refection.

"Who do we see for the 'Archery' equipment?" He asked after a brief pause. "I don't see anyone who might be a <untranslatable title>." His translator broke into his comment with it's computerized voice.

He continued to look for someone in charge, while carefully NOT looking at the bunker entrance. Even at his current hearing levels he'd have no choice but to hear if he went inside the bunker. So he hoped, seemingly in vane, that going in was not what he would have to do.
  3. ((OOC. I'm still here, and I am still interested in continuing as Kruth'T.))

<Ella>"Yes, Kruth'T it is a seasonal event. The leaves turn from green to these autumn colors" Ella made a sweeping motion with her hand indicating the broad canopy of threes with their yellow and orange leaves. "Then the die and fall off, and the trees are barren until spring"

Kruth'T nodded. "Still, it is pleasant to see."

Even before the hill came into view, Kruth'T heard the 'white noise' from within. He was however, greatfull for the layers of earth between him and the generator. Outside it was annoying. Inside, he assumed, would be toucherus for him.

When they saw the entrance to the bunker, Kruth'T immediately returned his hearing to human levels.

Freed from the distraction, Kruth'T suvrayed the field.

<Ella> "This is where the Master of Arms keeps the weapons. I don't know why they built it like this. It seems a little much for just practice weapons" Ella explained.

"Perhaps they use this place for traning people who are about to register as a hero. " Kruth'T mused aloud. "You know how little control some hatchlings have. The distance from the Clinic, would help prevent... accidents."

For a moment he remembered his own training, at home. The field was different, but it felt the same. Then he shook off the sensation, remembering that this was an alien world. "Or not."
  4. (I hope you get to felling better soon Rakash.)
Kruth'T was enjoying him-self immensely. He had few opportunities to see the native floria, and fauna. While he had been though Perez Park more times then he cared for, he was usually too busy with stopping this or that villain to take the time. Somehow, Kruth resisted the urge to drag his friends all over the place. So he made up for it by observing what he could.

With his senses turned up to their full capacity, he managed to observe allot of what was going on. Without slowing them down, of course.

    [ QUOTE ]
The main grounds of the Clinic were always immaculately kept. This extended into the woods. It was naturally pleasant yet carefully cultivated and cleaned, the large tall trees, some of which were centuries old provided plentiful shade to the passing party. A light breeze rustled the tops branches, knocking off a few of the first autumn leaves.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kruth'T watched the leaves fall with some interest. When one flew by him, he caught it with his free hand. He studied it for a moment, and then pocketed it.

"Is this a seasonal event?" He said gesturing to the autumn foliage. "I though they were usually a different collar. Or are these diffrent from the ones in Paragon?"
  5. Kruth'T carefully considered his options, while he finished his meal.

Despite Orchids' somewhat confusing disruption, the archery range seems interesting.

However, he still wanted to talk to Ella about yesterdays' events. But the Hero discusion group didn't really interest him.

From her description, I'm surprised that they have it at all. Besides, it's not like you'd have anything to add... That these humans could understand anyways. Kruth'T took a deep breath and willed the sudden burst of isolation that accompanied that thought, to the corners of his mind.

<Ella> “But if you are not interested in that, I can show you to the weight room and the weapon range.”

Kruth'T seemed to perked up at that suggestion. "Some practice would do me some good." He said softly. "At least it would help pass that time."

<Orchid>'As for the Heroes Discussion Group...' Orchid hissed a breath in through her mouth before continuing, 'it's probably best I avoid situations that end up in heated debates or a brawl.' She looked around and leaned in close to Ella and Kruth'T, 'I'll let the two of you in on a little secret - I'm a bit of a pacifist. I don't really see the point in getting violent over rhetoric, makes no sense at all to me. You have your opinion, I have mine, we can both discuss the finer points of those views for the sake of argument without being uncivilized toward each other.' "

"True, discussions should never end in a battle. There are usually ways of proving ones point that don't involve violence." He said in agreement.

"Well I'm done." Kruth'T declared has he finished the last pear. "Give me a moment to take these to where they belong, and I'll be right back." Quickly Kruth'T took the tray and the container (although he did have to ask directions to return that), to where they belonged and returned to the table.
  6. <Orchid> "Maybe I'll avoid the gym and look for an archery range. I've always wanted to try it"

"What's an archery range?" Kruth'T said softly, while eating some more insects. The question seemed to pop out before Kruth'T could think of about it.

So, seeing as Orchid was busy with her food, Kruth'T turned an inquiring eye to Ella. "So anyways, I seem to be free of doctors until 'five'." He said the word as though the concept was giving him some difficulties. He glanced at a small wrist watch, that was tied to his belt. It had numbers counting down, presumably, to the time of the appointment. "You are more familiar with the layout of this place then I am. So, do you have any suggestions? Perhaps to whatever, this archery range is."

"Just so long as it doesn't include the lake." He added teasingly.

<Void> "So, uh, buddy, have you got any plans for today? Want to do some weight training with me later today? Eh heh.."

Turning to Void. "No I haven't made any plans yet, except to see my healer. I was just asking Ella if she had any suggestions. Although, that sounds interesting. What kind of activity is it?" The odd tone in Void's voice gave Kruth'T an odd sinking felling.

<Void> "Eheheh, you know what? I think I'm going to go right now, feel free to come along if any of you want to come!"

"Is something wrong Void?" Kruth'T asked.

Something unnerved him... I wounder... Kruth'T then looked to Ella, and Orchid in confusion.
  7. Kruth'T placed his tray on the table, and turned the seat so that he could sit without cramping hit tail.

    Ella: “KRUTH’T!”

"Ella, it's good to see you again. You look fully recovered."

Orchid: "Very nice to meet you Kruth'T. I hope I pronounce your name correctly. It's not a name I'm used to hearing - does it have a meaning?"

"Nice to meet you as well. Actually, you spoke my name better then most." Briefly, he recalled some of the more mangled versions he had encountered. An amused gleam winked in his eyes for a moment. "Although I'm not surprised that you haven't heard it before. I'm one of the few of my kind to have reached this dimension and world. Kruth means 'small blue white note' in my peoples music language. 'T is something akin to my family name."

Ella: “How did you sleep Kruth’T? Was your room okay?”

Kruth'T shrugged at her questions. "I didn't need to sleep just yet, so I spent most of my time fixing my translator." After learning about the powerful telapaths in the area, he had decided to adjust it so it wouldn't burn out. "My room is the same one I had the first time I was here. I guess they saw little need to change it since no one knows when another of my kind will turn up."

It was then that Orchid told him her story. Although, he didn't understand most of it, he thought it sounded pleasant. So he wasn't offended.

Just as she finished, Kruth'T's stomach made him aware that it was done waiting for food, by loudly growling. "Excuse me but I haven't had any nourishment since this time yesterday." He then cracked open the container. Quickly he reached in with his other hand and grabbed a pinch of the larval insects within. Quickly, he ate them and made sure the lid was on securely. "Sorry if my food disturbs any of you, but there are very few things on this world that I can metabolize." Kruth'T said as he chewed his meal. Once he swallowed he took a small bit from one of the pears.

Orchid:"I guess I am a bit odd... I appreciate animals that would make most people cringe. - frogs, toads, salamanders... bats, rodents, bugs. I think once you understand a thing you no longer need to fear it. Respect it, certainly - but not fear it."

Kruth'T nodded at this wisdom. "My people have similar beliefs. Although, we've found it little help when dealing with watter." Kruth'T gave a small shudder. Few of his people weren't affected by hydrophobia, and if records were accurate, the condition was getting worse.

To Void: "How are you doing, Void. You seem a little quite?" Kruth'T asked as he took another pinch of food.
  8. Most of the night Kruth'T, had been working on repairing his translator.

It was most fortunate that the Vanguard had returned the equipment he needed to do the job. Although it would be more accurate to say they had returned his escape pod, witch just happened to contain his equipment.

Once the repairs were complete, Kruth'T returned the equipment to it place, and closed the pod. He then returned the translator to it's place(it's disguised as a scale at the base of his neck).

Once done he then spent the next hour being poked and studied by doctors. At the end of the session he was told that he would need to see Doctor Smith at five in the afternoon. Since he was now free he decided to head to the cafeteria. After all that he was hungry again.

Kruth'T was happy to see that the staff had been informed of his dietary needs(although he did have to ask for some fresh fruit). They quickly brought him a tray with a couple of pears, and a tightly covered ceramic container. He then moved away form the line, looking for a place to sit.

Scanning the room he saw Void blazer, and.... Ella! They we sitting near an unfamiliar human, talking. A part of him was surprised, he didn't expect to see her for a while yet. That was a speedy recovery.

Kruth'T made up his mind, and walked up to their table. "Hi all! Mind if I join?"
  9. Kruth'T fallowed Kia up the stairs, for the moment lost in his own problems.
His translator was giving him a massive amount of mental feedback. Simply put, it was designed to read what Kruth'T thought at the device, and translate it into words that would be understandable. All of the telepathic noise that was flooding the area was causing some significant interference. Briefly, Kruth'T attempted to shield the device using his abilities. However, that proved fruitless.

Analise, and filter nonstandard thought patterens. He commanded the device mentally, in desperation. He figured that it would only have a slight chance of working.

Well I guess it's better then nothing. He mentally groused.

    [ QUOTE ]
Eventually Kia turned back towards the stairs to see Kruth’T coming up. She had her arms wrapped tightly around herself, giving herself a hug.

“Let’s go this way” She nodded with her head, towards the lake, away from the hospital building.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kruth'T nodded and started walking in the direction she had indicated. For a moment, Kruth'T allowed himself to enjoy the smell of the air.

Distant sounds of people moving rapidly snapped him back into reality. For a moment, he thought he heard Void's voice. However, when he looked back he saw nothing.

He then turned his attention back to Kia. "Question statement. Are you well? End Statement."
  10. ((Okay, I'm going to do a slight retconn here. So just ignor my prior post. My appoligies if this causes any confusion, but it's too late for me to delete it.))

    [ QUOTE ]
“Hmm, so that’s what happened. I guess you were there to see? That must mean you hang around her so you two are friends. My name’s Ian,” he smiled and extended a hand to shake toward Kruth’T.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kruth'T shook Ian's hand firmly. "It is nice to meet you Ian." He said as he studied him.

    Softly he heard Kia's voice.

    [ QUOTE ]
“There is something weird going on here”

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kruth'T felt he had no choice but to agree. Something was gong on here that he didn't understand. But that was hardly unusual for him. The prospect of answers was just too alluring for him to abandon.

Swiftly he fallowed Kia out of the gym. However, he glanced back at Ian. Curious if he would accompany them...

  12. [ QUOTE ]
“What do you mean? Put an end to what? I guess I came into the situation toward the middle. What was going on?”

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kruth'T nodded, understanding his dilemma. "Basically, Ella injured someone. It looked like she had momentarily lost control of her powers, and it scarred her badly." I think.

"I think the security captain would know more, but I believe he wouldn't be authorized to explain better."

Kruth'T looked down on him-self, and realized that he still had his defenses up. It only took him a moment to end the dimensional disruptions that were protecting him. He decided to leave his hearing at it's normal levels (for him at least). Or at least for the time being.

The robe he was wearing now looked thoroughly shredded, and the smell of oranges floated out of one pocket. He sighed, the robe was never meant to be subjected to the kind of abuse he had put it thorough, not to mention the fruit. He removed what remained of the garment and threw it into a waste basket. Fortunately, he was still wearing his uniform's shorts (Padded armor basically).

    [ QUOTE ]
Several seconds after Doctor Tyler left Kia turned back to Kruth’T and Ian. She had a’we should talk’ look in her eyes. Kia rocked on her heels a little bit as a mischievous smile spread across her face.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kruth'T recognized that look. It was the same expression that Linnorn always wore, just before he would beryl into a large gathering of Skulls.

Kruth'T glanced at Ian, and took a deep breath.

"What is it?" he asked in his usually calm manor.
  13. Thank you. Hopefully after this patch I'll be able to be near others while fighting the rikti hords.(I keept dissconnceting very quickly. )
  14. Kruth'T studied the human for a moment, unable to figure out what was wrong.

    [ QUOTE ]
“She….doesn’t….like me…” he muttered several times, his voice raspy due to his odd hunched upsidedown position.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]
The medic made his was over to the upside down Ian.

    “Do you need medical assistance?”

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kruth'T glanced at the healer, "I don't know. I didn't hear any bones breaking, and his heart-beat is steady."

He was about to say more when Ella awakened. Kruth'T could hear the traces of fear behind her words.

Kia landed next to him. ah no wounder, I thought I recognized he heart-beat.

    [ QUOTE ]
“So what fun did I miss?”

    [/ QUOTE ]

"I'll tell you in a moment, their are some questions I'm hoping you could help me with, but that is for latter." He told Kia.

Kneeling down, he then spoke to Ian. "My apologies, human. In someways this was my fault. I asked Ella to put an end to this, before someone got hurt or killed."

Kruth'T then stood, and turned to Kia. Slowly at first, he gave he his view of what had happened.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
“Can’t you see your attacks are provoking that warshade?”

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kruth'T nodded at the humans' logic, but suspected that the security leader couldn't comply. Still it was nice to someone else trying to diffuse the situation.

    [ QUOTE ]
A pulse of golden light reflected off of the face mask and visors of the Security team, the source of this light cowered directly behind Ian. The warm pulsing light then turned to a brilliant golden glow as Ella wrapped herself in her energy shields. She muttered to herself, her voice had a hard edge to it, but the European accent was gone. Her eyes were shut tight as milky white tears began to flow again squeezing themselves out at the corners of her eyes. Her muscles trembled shaking Ian whose shirt she still clung to…

The Security Team steadied their aim and readied SAP grenades, waiting for an order or for something to happen.

    Then suddenly something did…

Ella firmed her grip on Ian and flung him across the room hard and fast and as easily as if he had been a Frisbee.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now that is impressive. Kruth'T thought. He watched as she went down, and winced. He watched as order bringers, and a healer swarmed over her location. It was only when she was placed on the stretcher that he approached the healer.

"When she wakes tell her I said 'thank you for stopping this before people got hurt'." Kruth'T paused for a moment. "Also that I would like to talk to her latter when it is permissible."

It was then he heard a new heart beat enter the room. It was familiar, and it took him a moment to locate it's source. Unobtrusively, he waved hi at it's source. However his attention was snatched away from it when Void fell over.

Kruth'T studded Void for a moment, and watched him revert to his human shape. Kruth'T could see no blood, and his heart beat was slowing to a normal beat. However, he was not an expert.

Turning to one of the security personnel Kruth'T asked "Could you contact a healer for Void Blazer here. He seemed a little confused when he had telaported here."

Finally, Kruth'T turned to the human Ella had thrown, and approached him. "Hello, I am Kruth'T. Are you well?"
  16. Kruth'T wearily picked him-self up, from a tangle of (now useless) gym equipment. I swear... Days like these... Makes me wish I had gone down with the ship.

Kruth'T took mental stock. He concluded (as he spat out a broken tooth), that all in all, he wasn't in all that bad of shape. That done he then surveyed the battle field.

As far as he could tell, the security team was only winning due to superior numbers, good leadership, and a lot of luck. Grimly, he noted that sooner or latter this would end badly. He wanted to wade in and stop it, but he reasoned that that would only make matters worse. Within a few moments, he decided to ask the one person who could, possibly, end this.

So he turned to Ella. Quickly he made a few mental adjustments to his translator, for a high tech variant of 'trowing your voice'.

"Ella," Kruth'T's voice seemed to emanate from beside her. "Could you please stop this. Your the only one who can. I know you are frightened by what happened at the hot tub. I also know you didn't mean to do what you did. So I do not blame you for it. Please, stop them. If for no other reason, then because I think you are someone who I would like to call... Friend"

Kruth'T watched wearily, hopping that he was right...
  17. Kruth'T watched the security force as they dealt with the situation. And was happy that the unknown human, and Ella had not been shot. However he was forced to wounder why they were terrified of Ella.

Well What do I know about her? Aside from the fact that she's human...
    ...
    ...
    That's right not much.

Then the building began to shake once more. "Is that guy trying to bring the building down on us?" He asked him-self. then a stronger tremor ripped through the room.

    That's it, I'm stopping this.

Just as Kruth'T reached the exit he felt a sudden gust of air as Void suddenly appeared.

    [ QUOTE ]
Whispering under his breath he said in a fearful and almost, whining tone, "No...they found me, no!" Then he was shouting, "No, you won't take me, you won't!" Void Blazer hunched over, shaking, letting out some sort of grumbling. Moments later, in an explosion of dark energy, he turned into what appeared to be a giant lobster. (Black Dwarf). Screaming he said, "YOU WON'T TAKE ME ALIVE!", as he rushed head first towards the security crew in his heavily armored form, with his fists/claws (?) raised high.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How Kruth'T managed it he never quite understood. Even latter when he attempted to reconstruct the incident in his mind, He still drew a blank. But somehow Kruth'T managed to get in front of Void before he reached the security team. In a desperate attempt to slow him Kruth'T He leaned against him.

"Void, it's me Kruth'T. Void stop, they aren't here for either of you! Please stop..." He chanted to Void.
  18. (Welcome back. So what group of security types did you port in front of? The ones fighting Ed, or the ones aming for Ella?))
  19. Kruth'T was somewhat relieved that Ella was not fighting the other human. Although the odd things the other human's heart was doing did confuse him. As did her voice change.

Not that he could understand more then the occasional word anyways, but he got the general impression that they did not intend to harm each other. Or so he hoped.

Still he wished that there was a human here that wasn't a part of the security detail (seeing as how they would be annoyed if he started to ask them questions). Someone who could help him to understand what was going on in there.

Kruth'T was about to leave to ask the human woman who had accompanied him to the gym (seeing as how he doesn't know Sis's name). Then Ella, and the other human started slowly walking toward the door. This action forced Kruth'T to walk to the security leader.

While he know that they would not be happy to talk to him. The fact that Ella, and the other human were walking out of the room, in such close proximity to each other, went under the heading of 'Things that must be known'. It wouldn't be nice to let the strange human get shot for who he was with.

"Excuse me sir," Kruth'T said in a calm manor. "But you should know that Ella, and the human who is with her, are preparing to leave that room. They are moving very close to each other." he paused for a brief moment. "And before you ask. I know this because I can hear their heart-beats from here." With that Kruth'T withdrew away form the security personnel, so as not to interfere.

Kruth'T leaned against a nearby wall...
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Sis and Kruth’T would hear a muffled crash from the eastside of the gym. On that wall there stood the door that lead to the men’s locker room. The crash was distant enough though and nothing in compared to the noise Ed had been making.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Soon after the crash sounded, Kruth'T's eyes locked on the door. the sound of a familiar heart-beat came from beyond. Ella? What she doing in there?

He heard the security team, long before they entered the room, so he was not surprised when they burst in. Their decision to focus on the door made Kruth'T puzzled. Soon after a second heart-beat joined Ella's.

Is she in some kind of danger? No they are reacting to her! But why?

    [ QUOTE ]
“Please stay back we are responding to a situation” Brice instructed the heroes in his clipped military fashion without breaking stride with his squad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]
Edward’s brow just narrowed at Kruth’T’s and Sis’ words. When the security started to swarm in, but apparently preoccupied with someone else, Ed started making his way toward the door. “Well, it seems my workout is over,” he growled and walked past the two. When another member of the security team rushed in but accidentally bumping into Ed as he was walking out, Ed pushed the guard out of the way. Although the shove looked closer to a gentle nudge with the forearm, the squad member was violently thrown against the wall which cracked under the force. Now the disgruntled patient made his way outside. It was unsure if he just wanted some air or if he was going to devise some strike to attempt an escape but he looked pretty treacherous.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kruth'T immediately checked the fallen guard. He seemed alright, but dazed and unfocused. Healers (or so Kruth'T assumed) swarmed over to assist their fallen comrade.
Kruth"t heard Sis and Ed move down the hall, but chose not to fallow when he heard

    [ QUOTE ]
“Central we lost the tracker, can you confirm if you still have signal”

Brice grimaced when the response came back.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While his hearing was currently at it's best, his translator couldn't 'hear' what the person on the other end had said. However he could easily guess that the answer was not an affirmative.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
When someone opened the door, Ed reacted without thought. His fist flew toward the door and he punched the air and although he was over 15 feet from the door, some force smashed the door off its hinges. “I would turn around if I were you,” he called out to whomever was just about to enter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The door hit Kruth'T, and it hurt but not very much. So he pushed the door off of him self, and glaced at Sis (mostly to enshure that she was alright). Confirming that she was fine Kruth'T trunrd his full attention on Edward.

As he took a steep forward the darkness surrounding him deepened. Suddenly bits of what was once a white robe exploded outward, it's destruction mostly due to a combination of increesing dimensional disturbance, and every spine on Kruth'T body suddenly beeing unsheathed.
    [ QUOTE ]
“Nice to meet you too,” Sis called out.

“You must be Edward.” .... “Are you always so welcoming? Or do we get special treatment?” .... “Oh, I know…you’re just thrilled to make new friends, right?”

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Seeing as how this is the first time we have meet, it somehow seems less then frendly to throw doors at people." His voice seemed calm, and steady neither sarcastic, nor angry. "However, I have not been on this world for very long."

To Sis "I'm going to have to fallow your lead with this being."

  22. [ QUOTE ]
    “’ello? Everyone decent?” Sis asked

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Kruth'T waived hi to Sis.

    [ QUOTE ]
From the gym, a wave of ‘pshock’ erupted in all directions into the room and continuing through to the hot tub and sauna rooms. Pshock would be similar to seismic disturbance until it met with a solid object, such as the walls of the gym which did shake profusely, then continued on as a telepathic wave. To a psychic, telepath or telekinetic, it would cause a painful migraine that may last a few seconds but to anyone else it would be weaker effect, like someone shouting a word in your ear.

    [/ QUOTE ]

For Kurth'T's translator the effect was different, when the wave hit the device, it made a loud buzzing noise for a moment and then shut off.

He was stunned for a moment, and then it reset itself. "What was that?" Kruth'T opened his hearing to it's maximum, and heard the heartbeat of every person in the room. After a moment he managed to sort through those sounds, and heard the sound of a metal object being struck repeatedly.

    [ QUOTE ]
...Ed unleashed a pshock that easily shook the building...

    [/ QUOTE ]

The sound of the blow dazzed Kruth'T for a moment, and his translator repeated it's loud buzz, fallowed by it breifly shutting off. He picked himself off the ground. "On second thought I'm checking this out, quick before this person brings the building down on us."

Faintly, just for a moment, he heard Ella's heart beat. Thanks to when she grabbed his hand to lead him to this place, he could recognize that sound imeditely. but it was on the edje of his hearing range, and then she moved beyond. For just a moment he wished he could help her.

"I'm checking this out. You can fallow if you wish." He said as he jogged to the doors, and quickly darted outside.

Once out in the hallway Kruth'T moved to the gym, where the sound had been comming form. On the way the light seemed to distort, and darkness began to seep out from arround him. That should protect my translator from any more of those... disturbances.

He took a moment to menatlly perpare him-self for anything and walked into the gym....
  23. <Kia>“Uh yeah, I guess some girls jus’ don’t like to be hugged”

Kruth'T nodded in agreement. For a moment he glanced at Whip, who was being assisted by Hal. He seemed to be in good hands, so he wasn't worried about him.
