    Hey! I call foul.

    Barbarians can't read! :3

    [/ QUOTE ]

Exactly. He's freakin' perplexed about all the books.
  2. Well, sorry about that last contest; I was just FLOODED with work for the past two weeks; AP's aren't an easy thing.

Anyway, I guess I could enter this as a contestant. Here's my entry: Cromus the Mighty : The confused Barbarian from the past!
...Trust me, if you're attempting an unorthodox idea for this pallete, it is going to be tough.
  3. Eh. I've seen worse.

(Basically, the story behind this was that I was just hanging around in Atlas Park back when I still played on freedom with Green Regis, who basically was a prototype Chisoku. Suddenly, this guy, Blue Regis, comes up. Now, not only is he copying my name and dress, but he's copying it all wrong! If yer gonna rip me off, at least take some time doin' it! )
  4. Ok. Last one to fall down after drinking 1 pint of bleach wins!

    YEEEEEE HAW-er... Next picture!
  5. It was when the People's Republic of China claimed they could transform people into ghost prawns that the red scare truly took off...

    NEEEEEEEEEXT?
  6. Finally, Lord Recluse had conquered Paragon City, and then had a dance party. Ghost Widow began to dress in red, the kheldians made a peace treaty with Arachnos, and the Plants were Singing!

    PAWNCH!
  7. Before the Mu strikers of Arachnos were set up, There were Arachnos Warlocks, who rode around on Arachnos brooms. However, after several crashed face first into the ground whilst flying, as shown in this photograph, the Arachnos warlocks were quickly put down.

    Ha-HAH!

...But as the judge went across the line, he found out the terrible truth; everyone's costume sucked!

    Yosh!
  10. I'm a little tired today, so the judging of the costumes, as well as the previous' winners' sprites will be held off until Sunday. Again, if any of you have last minute entries, get them in now!

I guess it's just the lack of red that makes it look off, but that blue looks a lot more like the first palette's light blue rather than the darker blue used in the most recent one. Oh well, I'll shut up now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, you're talking about the COSTUME. Yeah, that IS the wrong pallette.
  12. Woah, now that is a sweet... purple... aerodynamic... jacket!

Naw, but seriously, that's a very nice screen manip. Andyeah, I want vehicles as well... As very clearly signified by my avatar.

    Ninja coustume

Replace the baggy shirt with an oriental robe and have him wear tights below that. The resulting effect should be something like this:

    A ninja.

I'd also advocate having him wear a scarf when he gets cape options, since, in truth, a surprising amount of ninjas actually do wear them.
  14. Nope, that's the correct pallet...e.

Is it pallet or pallette? Because firefox keeps saying that pallette is spelled incorrectly...

But that aside, ya got one more day before your submission is due! The deadline for this one is 4:00 PM EST, so get those last submissions in!
  15. Actually, black isn't a pallet color. That was just the color that happened to be selected when I took the picture of the pallet, so that design will have to be redone. Sorry.
  16. Therefore, it can be concluded that being imprisoned by trolls sure does a number on your grammar.
  17. Yeah, never realized that. The tailor in IP is right next to the Kings Row exit. Much easier than sneaking through Steel Canyon.
  18. Alright. So, as I promised, here's round 3!!

    All-Star Pallet

This Pallet will be a LOT easier to make a good concept around, especially if you're creative... Or patriotic... Or, whatever.

So, the deadline for this one is next Saturday. The Winners' sprites of the last contest will also be released by then.
  19. Shortest 88 yards I've ever seen.
  20. Sure, you can hold your own, but I can't really give out prizes since the reason one's not being held at the moment is that I'm a bit busy.

I think I'll be able to hold another this weekend, though.
  21. Next will perhaps be revealed tomorrow. I'm gonna be busier than usual this week.
  22. Aaand we're closed. Judgements and winners will be up in a moment, but in the meantime, here's last contests winners' sprites:

    El. D's Teruko

    Djeannie

    And now for my judgements:

    King Cauldera
Okay; I like the backstory, but I really don't think that this pallet was the best match for his concept. As far as the costume goes, there's a lot of stone parts, but that's fitting for the concept, and the blend of red and green on the body makes him look a bit like a tomato. He's also really dark, and so it's hard to see details on him, but it's a definite improvement over the last entry, though, so great job.

    The Jungle Shade
A simple, but neat design. The Asymettry of color here is actually pretty nice, and the shiny tights make her look like a poison frog, which I think was what the original pallet creator was going for. Good work. Perhaps the only thing I'd change is add a belt.

    Wind Soul
Conceptually, I can't really see where you're going with this. She looks like some sort of... Blind knight with lingerie on and some tribal-styled patterns on the skirt and boots. Not quite what I think of when I think 'wind'. Maybe it's just the shots, but she seems really dark colored. The green doesn't stand out as sharply as it should, due to the transparency of the wedding pieces on the skin, neutralizing the green color out with a brown one.

    Crack Thorne
Another simple, yet pretty effective design. I'm not entirely fond of the sharp transition of the tights on the body to that of the hands and feet, as the constant texture but not constant color makes it look odd; You probably would've been better off using another glove texture rather than covering them with tights. The facial pattern is also a bit low in contrast; probably would've done better if set to bright red. other than that, it's a pretty simple and sweet suit. Nice job.

    Viperian
I actually like the imbalance on this one; The green tights on the top blend surprisingly well with the tech legs, and the lack of dominance by black makes plenty of contrast in this outfit. My only qualm is that the boots could probably be a bit brighter, with dark green as background color instead of black, but still, this is a not so simple, and also very impressive design.

    Corrupt Thoughts
Whoo, more imbalance that seems to look good, and probably the 1st entry that has a skin tone that is from the pallet. I'm looking at it right now and simply can't find a fault in the design. Everything in this costume seems to fit together. I have to say, well done.

    Venomous Val
Spikes and stuff galore. In the sense that all the entries up until now have been quite traditional, this is a huge departure, and I like it. My only problems with this one is that chest emblem, which probably would've been better left off, and also the lack of a belt, which makes the transition between the top and bottom a little sudden, but that's no big deal. Overall, I really like this design as well.

    Venus Dionaea
Hmm... She uses too much of the same parts; a ton of organic and plant. She also needs more colors; all she uses is the bright red and dark green, but it's also a little hard to tell from the pictures. A good attempt at the costume, though.

    Poison Pallet
My only real qualm with this would be the fact that the costume is all bug parts, and also that it could maybe use a LITTLE bit of black to balance out the red and green. Still, a fine entry.

    Purrrfect Shot
This is a REAL departure in concept, and I admire that greatly. Of course, the colors of the body don't quite match the hands, feet, and head, but hey, what can ya do? . All I could really reccommend is increase the contrast between the body color and stripes by making them green, or more preferrably, black, perhaps, but then again, I'm a little at loss of what could really be done with the pallet itself, so good jorb.

    Erme
PUT ON SOME PAN-Er, sorry. I'd say that the costume needs a bit more balance in its color distribution; maybe make those stiltellos green instead of red? Still, a pretty good and unique design... That needs pants.

    Poison Pete
Excellent. I love how that chest emblem looks on this guy. My main problems with this is that the gloves perhaps need a bit more contrast from the main body colors, and that perhaps the trenchcoat look doesn't entirely suit him. Still, I like this design. It does quite well with the colors given.

    WINNERS:
    1st: Corrupt Thoughts
    2nd: Venomous Val
  23. Alright; I'll allow submissions on Saturday up until 2:00 PM EST, and after that, it's judging time!

So, last minute entrants, get those costumes in!
