  1. I've hardly ever used dam procs, I just in the past have not seen much difference. Does it really make a difference thats worth switching out?

As for switching the sets in dominate and TD, I can see that as being wise. I will have to do that when I finally implement a build.
  2. The only thing I have read so far that concerns me is knowing how OCD I am, when the issue first comes out I am going to be having a fit trying to get at least 4 of my 50s alpha slotted.

I think once I get that done, the consequences of the new issue won't bother me too bad. I hate lower-level content anyways, and usually spend a lot of time and influence purpling out my 50's and making them as good as they possibly can be. This system will just improve my characters.

I am kind of bothered by the TF aspect. For someone like me, TFs are a luxery for when I have time. It does seem that this new system is very NOT casual-player friendly, but purple recipes are not casual-friendly either. Nor are accolades.

I always get nervous when a new issue comes out, but I think we can rest knowing that if changed are needed, they will eventually occur. Think of how much AE has changed since it first came out? Back then I was able to put in nothing but melee critters, turn on hurricane with my fire/storm, and just stand there with enemies circled around me while I was pelting them. Or better yet just fly and recast pets when they die with my MM and let them do the fighting. None of that is going in anymore, to cheat the system now-and-days you have to do weird stuff :P

But anyways, give the new issue two to three weeks of time before making so many doom prophesies.
  3. Here's a build Im considering using. I currently have everything but the Armageddons and Rags.

This build is different than the one I am currently using in that Im picking up consume. Despite the build Im using now having perma-dom, I felt like I was losing a lot of end. Maybe with more recharge end would do better as domination would come up more. I lost vengeance in the process.

Ha, you don't know how I roll. My dom has been level 50 since, uh, Friday I think?

I currently have went with mindl/fire/fire. But I may change the epic to ice and try that for awhile. I love the damage with the fire epic, but so far Ive been beat up on pretty hard in some task forces. I currently have three purple sets, but Im waiting before buying the more expensive sets to make a final decision on my build.

That room is not complained about as much. I made the stones where if you jump too far onto one stone, you would be stopped by the edge of the next stone. Plus usually people go DOWN the entrance instead of up. I hardly receive complaints about it.

Now the circular floating stones leading up to the three hazard zone teleporter.... yes I have people fussing at me all the time about that. I explain that the base is very much built with aesthetics in mind instead of functionality.

Although the base is easy to learn. Everything spawns off long hallways shaped like a cross. When you get to the crossroads from the entrance you go straight for teleporters, or go right for storage and oro. Left is just pretty stuff.
  6. I will probably alpha slot my scrapper first. My BS/Shield scrapper (Apparitioness) to me is my most well-rounded toon. She never runs out of end, she can tank pretty much anything with a few buffs and she hits as hard as a blaster.

The character of mine that probably needs it the most is my fire/storm controller (Enchantress). From what I understand there's a recovery buff and while this toon is potent on AoE and pet damage, she is an end hog thanks to her powers and high recharge.

    My base

Just wanted to share some screenshots of my base. I am not great with taking screenshots so bear that in mind. This base is a Sg I founded called Tribe of Legends. We are rank 6 on Victory Server despite being not even two years old yet. We have over 100 million in unused prestige.

There are many rooms but I will just share a few. In the entrance you zone on a platform and you can either fly off into the tall columned hallways or jump down the floating stepping stones. Note the floating wall banners "attached" to the platform.

Here is my favorite room, the teleporter room. It is completely symmetrical except for the dirt. Note the floating beacons and torches. Also note the stairs being longer than usual but trust me, there is NO texture overlapping at all in my base.

Last is the entrance to the chapel, and the chapel I made as a joke for a pretend marriage me and another player were going to have. Ironically I would start dating this player in real life and now she lives with me.

I was recently auctioned off for a PERC event and am helping a small SG with an entrance where it appears to be a bedroom and then leads to a dungeon. I have also been offered inf to help other bases. I am always available for advice and only one of a few decent builders on Victory. I want to complete my base with a dark alter control room. I also had ideas for a sewer base and a space station.
  8. First, I don't think its demeaning if there was a low bid on particular people. Most of the ones that were low were not there it seemed. I think its important if you want to sell for high to "market" yourself. But I was up there not because I expected a high payment coming out but because I was just having fun. I would have been just as happy if someone paid 50 million influence.

As for the MoLRSF, are you serious about that Voodoo? :P

I've been telling the good base builders I know on Victory (like the Marines, we're the few and proud) about making sure they auction themselves off next year. For once my base is getting some attention instead of just collecting dust.
  9. I don't have any recommendations for future auctions, I think it went extremely well, although some people were suspicious about the winners of the random prizes. Oh the naysayers.

Apparently I won two random prizes, but I had already logged for the night before receiving the second one.

I bought a MoLRSF. I didn't even need that really, but like MP said its about charity. I hardly play redside! I guess my new redside character, Enchantress, will eventually have a MoLRSF badge :P
  10. Good job Death Conqueror for trying to keep track of all of that.

I enjoyed the night myself, probably out of all the PERC events I have attended this one is so farmy favorite.

I know I at least was sold for 700 million. Masque was the highest at over 2 billion. I was surprised, if I remember correctly Avatea only sold for 400 something million. People must not have been paying attention.

I was surprised I went so high. I don't know crap about badges compared to some people and I am only a half-decent farmer and moderately gifted TFer. Im good with builds but only with ATs I have had direct experience with, which is not many. I was auctioned for base help though, which made me happy as some people still value quality base work. Of course I encouraged my friends to bid for me (even tried to bribe them) but in the end it was someone I will have the chance to get to know instead of someone on my global. I won't mention them since it was an anonymous bid.

The base builders / designers would probably have to have some proof (pictures on the forum?) of their base-building abilities, as a point of reference to people. Next, something like "4 hours" might not be a reasonable amount of time, at least in my experience. Maybe something like, complete 1 room of a particular size, say a 4X4 or something. The idea is still a little rough around the edges, but I say it has merit.
I've been auctioned off twice for base building, advertising myself as a base builder which I feel is my most unique and strongest skill.

Pictures on the forums are helpful but nothing is actually like going into a base. Maybe that's just because I suck with screenshots though. My favorite room is my teleporter room but I always thought it looked bland in screenshots because you don't get the 3d feel to it that really explains its complexity. Below is a sample though, the room behind it is incomplete but you really cannot see it well in the picture anyways. This is my "Oro Room."

As for how to bid off base builders? Well I think its better to teach a person than to build stuff for them. Of course is someone is paying me to just build stuff for 4 hours, then I will do that because they paid. But I think I can help them out more by teaching them the skills they need to make their base work and be aesthetically pleasing. Basically work as a consultant. I think if you follow my advice you can avoid looking like a noob to the rest of the multi-server builder community and have the tools to express what you have in mind with more tools readily available. Want to make a space station with windows and a black canvas with stars lit upon them? There's a simple way to do that. Want to build a pyramid? Hope you have plenty of time, but there's a way to do that. Spiral staircases? As long as you don't mind cursing excessively while you learn how to do it, I can teach you that. A giant three-story strip club complete with meeting rooms and VIP lounges? I can teach you that, and hopefully you wont delete the 5,000 piece room afterwards like I did and regret it later.

Of course I have been asked to just build a base for people before. Some people just don't have the patience to learn basic stuff about the base builder and want someone to just set up a simple base for them with the teleporters, etc. I have also been drafted to just create a particular room too. But I do think its better to have one base builder instead of multiple. I can tell by looking at a base if more than one person has worked on it usually, and it's not a pretty sight usually. Bases are more epic when there is a central theme, and consistent building habits.

Whatever you do, don't stack with desks unless its called for. You look better not trying and just having a simple base built for operation.
  12. Fiery would you happen to have a link somewhere that I can go to where your build is located?

It seems like there are many different ways I could build this toon. I really did not know that going into rolling a mind dom.

    NEW Victory Wiki

The wiki keeps looking better and better. Everyone tell your friends about it. If we can get enough people working on this then it can really be a cool gig.
  14. Well it sounds like the SG will benefit from your presence. I imagine they would be glad to know someone missed the SG that much that they wanted to help it return to glory. I think out of the hundreds of people who have been in the SG I used to run, maybe two other people really care about it that much.

One of the first SGs I was in was made from a small group of players, all of which have now left the game at this point. I left the SG myself eventually, and I kind of regret it. Would be nice to have the SG if nothing else as a monument to what once was.
  15. Thanks for the input.

I see a lot of people pick a lot of single taret attacks, but I tend to play my dom more like a farmer would than a AV soloer. In other words I like killing tons of enemies very fast. In that case I would agree that you don't need the max S/L.

Maybe I will try fire epic for awhile too, see which I prefer out of the two.
  16. At lower levels with just SO's I've found TD to be useful at times when everything seems to recharge slow.

I am at level 44 now and decided to go with ice as my epic. I plan to start slotting sets at 47 and to do a respec. I plan to get rid of some powers I hardly use like levitate and pick up the fighting pool for added defense.

When I get my first build designed I will post it on here for critique. While soloing stuff like the ITF is indeed completely awesome and part of the reason why I went with mind control, I am more worried about peforming well in a team.
  17. I see a lot of people skipping total domination. Why is that?
  18. Last I heard, a leader left the game, closing the SG with it. You said that this may have been you. If you tell me when you left, I may be able to confirm this.

    Good luck.

    Mind/Fire/What?

    Greetings,

I currently have a level 40 Mind/Fire dom on Victory.

I plan on leveling her to 50, and I plan to unload many billions of influence on her.

So with that in mind, what should I pick as a epic/patron?

Im debating between fire and ice epics and mace patron. Leaning mostly towards ice and fire. I see someone replied to me earlier that chose ice, but I've seen many pick up fire. I enjoy teaming and soloing.

    Input???
  20. Ive lead plenty of teams on RWZ raids and even hosted them myself, and I have to say that this was one of the best runs I have ever had. I know I got close to 500 merits (one player said "450"), and not a single death on my team except a few that got caught by the bomb explosions. We planted two bombs as well.

Or if the SG is in-character, it should be listed in a Background section, such as the Tin Mage Corps article. I think its appropriate.

    What do y'all think?
  22. Chant

    NEW Victory Wiki

I propose that nothing be "in-character" except for character bios, for consistency. SGs would be not in character.
  23. If the committee actually gets anything done at all, then I will say that for the most part they deserve their existence at that point.

ANY changes would be good at this point as far as I'm concerned. It would show that the developers realize that the community exists. If we don't like all the changes, we can still appeal directly to the devs or to the committee.

This talk of a "shadowy" making decisions for us is ridiculous. I would be concerned about it if the shadowy agency was making decisions regarding what food I ate, or as in the case in real life... how much of my money is going to be taken from me and spent on military spending. But it's just a base! A base that has for too long been forgotten and left behind, but still just a base. If this committe makes bad choices, we can deal with the consequences. But at least give them a chance to actually get SOMETHING done around here.

I still say that the main focus should be on reviving Super Groups in general, not just bases.
