Quote:ccninjajumpSo please, does anyone know the actual title for the ninja leap and smoke bomb emotes?
ccsmokebomb
It's been mentioned in this thread already. By BABs, even. -

Quote:Yes, but it's a pain to copy and paste. Are there any videos of the Ninja Sprint in action? A friend at work wants to see this new pay4play travel power.

Quote:It's the same as an unenhanced Super Speed, and 0.01 end more expensive than an unenhanced Super Jump.Damn, that's pretty high. I ain't running that in combat, no matter how cool it looks. Oh well, I can deal. Still sounds pretty swanky, and I'm gonna pick up this pack for sure.
Not that I'm arguing that you should run it in combat... I turn it off as soon as my first attack starts to activate. -
-
Quote:Yeah... but if they did that, then it really would give this power a benefit over existing travel powers (aside from the aforementioned not requiring a power choice), which would in turn give the people who are complaining about Ninja Run an actual reason to complain other than "I just don't like ninjas and/or how the power looks."Please note: I wouldn't scream too loudly if it didn't suppress in PvE...

Quote:It's because Ninja Run is half Super Speed and half Super Jump, the latter half being the reason.Ninja Run does not affect Sprint, Hurdle, or Swift among others; I don't see why it should de-toggle CJ.
Super Jump detoggles Combat Jumping too, and I've never once heard anyone complain about it.
Quote:Creating a bind to toggle off one power and activate the other is still a waste of time IMO and a task that I am not willing to do as it is still an extra step I'd have to take from mob to mob.
As far as I'm concerned, you're just being lazy now. I'm not going to put your steak in a blender just because you don't want to exert the effort to chew it. -
The event only ran for 4 hours yesterday. In another week or two, expect a second test that incorporates some changes based off the feedback from the first test.

My ex has a villain named Tainted Innocence.
She's a twelve year old girl who was kidnapped, tortured (including having her eyes plucked out), and *****. Then she got a hold of a knife and killed her captor, then fingerpainted on the wall with his blood. She's quite psychotic and about as evil a character as I've seen. -
Quote:Sooo... make a bind or macro that will activate the alternating power at the press of a button? The point is that if you use it when traveling, even on mission maps, Cj will be de-toggled. As a player that leaves travel powers on so I can get to the next group of bad guys faster; I'm not willing to sacrifice the defensive by having CJ off.
I can understand why they would want CJ de-toggled when using NR, but they should have realized CJ is more than just added vertical movement, it has a significant defensive bonus to it too.
/bind g "powexec_toggleon Ninja Run$$powexec_toggleon Combat Jumping"
(I think that's right... you might just want to use powexec_name)
Since binds read from right to left, you'll activate Combat Jumping the first time you press G, then Ninja Run (which detoggles Combat Jumping) the second time, then toggle on Combat Jumping (which will detoggle Ninja Run) with the third press, and so on. -

I seriously don't know why everybody complains that villains get fewer zones. Seriously, when's the last time you've gone into Boomtown if you weren't on a Numina TF? Or Dark Astoria if you weren't specifically hunting Adamastor or BP Masks? How about Perez Park for anything after The Hollows opened up? When's the last time you levelled from 10-20 in Skyway City instead of Steel Canyon, or 20-30 in Independence Port instead of Talos Island?
The devs realized that there were several zones that the majority of players were never visiting at all, and the ones who did go didn't stay there for more than a few minutes to do something specific. That's why the Rogue Isles are set up the way they are. Why should the devs create a new hazard zone just so everybody can visit it, kill whatever Giant Monster and/or new enemy group accompanies it the first day the zone opens, and then never go back? It'd be a complete waste of their time and our money, and would only lead to more people complaining about x not being fixed and y being unbalanced (and, of course, devs hating villains).
Content? Yes. Red-side needs more content. Especially Strike Forces.
And so as to not completely derail the thread, YES, OH MY GOD YES, MERGE THE MARKETS ALREADY. -

Quote:The DBZ reference isn't true really, at least not for Goku. He pumps his arms as he runs, but he holds his hands in "chop" motions instead of fists. He fights a ninja in the original Dragonball series (when he's a kid) who runs like that, though.I can't direct you to any links, but I know I've seen it in other anime (did notice the Dragonball Z callout later in the thread).
And, further, I have actually seen this run style in live action movies also. Not quite so 'over the top' as CoH's, which is clearly more anime inspired, but real-world examples, nonetheless.
The Ninja Run pose is seen in anime like Ninja Scroll, and a lot of video games with ninjas in them like the old-school Ninja Gaiden for NES.
All in all, it's a very stereotypical ninja thing to do.
(And since we've mentioned Naruto a couple times... my Elec/Shield Brute [with an electric shield] looks like he's doing a Chidori/Raikiri as he runs around.)

Quote:I just logged in to check, and "Chinese Broadsword" is the only new Katana option I have for creating a new character. (My existing character is busy working at his stupid Day Job, and I don't want to disturb him until he gives me another badge.Almost, but not quite. We get a new Katana too, with a much improved geometry at the tip of the blade.

Quote:BZZZZT. Wrong. I just got home and tested it first thing. "No Temp Powers" in Ouroboros does disable it.One thing I'm curious about... people say things like "I'm going to respec out of my travel power and just use Ninja Run!"
... But does it become unavailable in situations where Temp Powers are disabled? (Master TF/SF runs, Ouroboros challenges, etc.)
The Veteran Reward powers, Self Destruct, and Mystic Fortune are all listed as "Inherent Powers" as well, and they're all disabled when Temp Powers are turned off. -
