I tried searching, but my search fu is weak.
Specifically, I've noticed in mids that most DP attacks can take a LOT of procs from the different effects that they have. Do you lose the proc ability with ammo changes?
I've also noted a number of people consider DP damage to be less than desired. Is loading up with procs a decent way to balance this? 4-5 damaging procs should, on average, at least proc once every hit. A bad roll would be pretty weak, sure, but a good one could be devastating.
Is it too much of a gambler's idea? Anyone tried it with decent results? -
Quote:In terms of costume pieces your most recent example is, what, three years old?I can cite several veteran rewards, when added caused uproar because they were "too far", including wings, Samurai Armor, Tech Sleek, shoulder capes, chest emblems (groups), the boxing set, the Arachnos Helmets (51 month reward). We were likely to get the GR enhancements (at a guess they would have been 87 or 90).
It's extremely hard to believe they'd add costume sets that deep in the vet reward tree now. The "choicest" stuff was earned within 18 months, Tech Sleek being iffy at 27 months (perhaps on your server the boxing set is wildly popular?). The Arachnos Helmets were strangley past due compared to the pre-order sprints (and more likely drudged up when they sat around stumped for ideas), but they are not heavily used - especially not compared to trench coats and wings and samurai armor bits.
There are less examples of costume sets being given as vet reward as they are simply being given along with new boxes (5 full sets vs 3 full sets, and this is discounting the huge number of sets that came with CoV).
Based on recent performance, it's far, far more feasible that things such as costume sets would appear in a paid booster, in-game unlockable "content," or some boxed set. They stopped putting costume bits as vet rewards in roughly June 2008 (feel free to look it up, the only specific that matters is that it happened before Boosters). They started Boosters in September of 2008. They have added costumes in boxed editions every time (excepting Architect Edition, which let you choose a Booster) - pre-order sprints and helmets, Justice, Sinister, Valkyrie, Resistance, Praetorian, too numerous to list Villain sets, DVD Edition capes for both COH and COV, DVD Edition Arachnos logo, etc.
They have just added costume bits as in-game purchasable with one of our myriad in-game currencies (I, for one, am so glad they removed Base Salvage because it's no hard to keep track of all these currencies!). There's just nothing there to support a belief that they'd start tossing costume parts on the back end of the vet program again. That's disingenuous, especially when being so dismissive of other people's opinions and lines of thought when your own are lacking in substance.
Have a peachy day! I'm sure you'll enjoy the last word. -
Quote:Didn't help that it barely worked to begin with and discouraged those people who were willing to give it a shot. Also, as a general nag (although it would help with the 'downtime' issue i mention above) - it's dissapointing that the LFG interface, which seems a really nice and powerful way of kicking off these large teams, doesn't seem to be getting used as it seemed to me to be initially intended. We all wait around until there are 24 in the League. Why? Because seemingly no one uses the LFG option to join events now. Why? Because (even though the interface says a <2min wait) they can put it on and wait 20 minutes and nothing happens. Why? Because we all wait around until there are 24 players in the League...
No one wants to join a crash to desktop queue. -
I actually find it a tedious trial with no better rewards than ones that happen much more quickly and without all the cat herding. I'm also not a big fan of the various god powarz slung about.
Anti-Matter has taken up the reigns of the old Posi TF with repetitive tasks.
Get the cells... do the reactor thing.
Ok, now do it again.
Ok, now do it again.
Now that I have bought all the unlockables, I can do with the 1 less emp merit a day. I'll end up with more astrals and more chances at VR salvage for future Inc Power slots when they eventually get unlocked by doing the other 2 trials in roughly the same time.
It's the least fun trial, imo. -
Can't seem to find the jodphur pants listed as a new pattern/texture on the store page.

Wish the jump jet was also a costume option instead of just a temp power.
7 years of asking for rocket packs and still going...

I had discussed getting Starbright from you previously for a duo. We'd still love to have it.
Specifically, this duo...
Empowered with the alien life force of their mentor and savior, Ato, siblings Aidan and Nadia Renner didn't make it back to Earth until nearly a decade after their abduction.
Finding their home destroyed in the Rikti War and their parents presumed dead, the twins try to make their way in a world very different than the one they left behind. Pursued by sinister alien agents and mistrusted by Vanguard, they use their abilities for good of all mankind. They are Starbright and Moonshadow.
Powers: As a reflection of her fear and terror when exposed to Ato's life force, Nadia wields the power to generate and manipulate darkness for a variety of effects. Never is her darkness more consuming than when fighting alongside her brother.
Aidan, however, wields the power of the stars, shining bright, like the hope that was awakened in him when Ato first arrived to rescue them. He manipulates stellar light energy as he battles for good at his sister's side, a shining beacon of truth, promise and hope. -
I disagree with a number of the assumptions made by the OP and am using them as affirmation of my opinion that Pocket D is a horrible place to visit.

A vinyl record collection, while a fun hobby, is certainly obsolete in the world of superior sound quality, storage, and convenience/portability of MP3s. Yes, even if you listen to your records every day.
Medbays were once of great use, but now there are med cots in hazard zones. They don't even restore you to full health, so trying to use them to return rapidly just means you have a "Rest" click in your future. Especially now with the movement speed buff... you can get back to mission from the hospital in comparable time to base zoning and resting.
Telepads were once a major convenience, now mostly not needed. While some SG spam brags of porters to all zones (even my solo SG has that) you really only need a couple any more. I don't see a whole lot of Hazard zone adventuring, myself. When they actually come up, mission porter takes care of the trip there. Oro to Talos gets me a train anywhere else.
Storage? People have the Vault, use email muling, alts, and even mule at Wentworths (where inventory count is by STACK, not unit). Unless it's a solo SG or a small, tight knit group willing to risk it... it's just junk storage you don't care about. The small amount that can be stored (especially since it used to be in triple digits per unit) really reduces its usefulness. You can't store recipes and not all recipes can be crafted and then transferred (temp powers, costume pieces). Storage is a base's best use - IF you're the only member.
Empowerment stations, while unique to bases, are used only by rare people. Most players don't even know they exist. They are in such low demand, they don't get mentioned in SG spam. Ever. While I'm sure they get more use out of PVPers, that's not exactly a large community (despite their claims).
Pillar of Ice & Fire? Even with a vet base teleport, it's faster to Oro port and use one of those.
Invention tables? While it might seem convenient to be able to zone to a table from anywhere that has a base portal, with some exceptions (Pocket D & Faultline for example) if there's a base portal, there's a train station. Zoning to your base is generally no faster than zoning to a place with a nearby University... which might even have a handy Wentworth's. The question rises... if you craft that much why haven't you bothered to get the portable table for those "nao" moments? How many such moments actually come up?
Speaking of Wentworth's... bases have no consignment house terminals. How much crafting are you really doing from the limited storage? Can't be that much... not without frequent trips outside and ignoring WW/University neighbors.
Inspiration dispensers can sure come in handy if they weren't so difficult to get. It's been years and my SG has only unlocked the first one (obviously, we're big on mitigation aside from "healz"). Certainly, groups that have heal badge farmed get more use out of this.
Bases are pretty much obsolete. SGs, in general, really don't offer anything a global channel can't. You can talk to your friends better (cross server/cross faction) and you can still see who's online. In fact, prior to bases, all a SG was was a chat channel and an alt color scheme for your costume if you were into that.
If you are jazzed by taking random piles of room clutter and making it look like a toilet or a shooting range or something, though... bases are still fun.
I have a "complete" base with all porters, medbay (with robo surgeries), time crystal, lots of storage racks, insp dispenser, and both t3 empowerment stations, work & invention tables. I can go without and not be inconvenienced until I need some costume salvage from my grandfathered rack with 80+ sets of the stuff. Even then I could just have 1 character pull all that salvage (since it takes no character inventory space) and email as needed if I bothered. -
Oh, I'd also like this back during Rikti invasions....

The "V" belt for females was changed years ago (after being as-is for 2-3 years). Originally, it was not straight across the back, at all, but actually V shaped (unlike the front). I have always been sad about that belt since they changed it.
I'd like to second a revisit of many of the "masks" options so that they don't cover the lower jaw from throat to chin. I know there was some sort of wrap problem with there being a "spike" looking stripe in that area before, but maybe someone there now is more capable of fixing it without just covering the whole area. I can dig up some screenies (or give in-game showings) if needed. I still have characters with their old masks.
Also seconded on the non-shiny metallics brought back, sleek to masks and "with skin" parts (which is technically new. Sorry)... and shiny added as an option to the various wristbands! Well, now I got all demandy.
We've been asking for jetpacks since beta... I'd say the 6 or whatever years shows we "really" want them. lol (and why BAB determined our pleas meant we actually wanted to pay monthly for a jetpack temp power I have no idea...)
The nipple issue depended a lot on the lighting and color choices, imo. You can still see it often on the afro-girl statue in Atlas most often (and Countess Crey as mentioned earlier is a major sinner) but I think it was really just the shape of the polygon join back then. As seen here.
