surly the easiest thing would be to have the shops use the WW/BM interface

Oh sweet Jebus no.
I've a special rage-filled place in my heart for whatever idiot designed that interface.
It's so bloody clunky.

weird i find it pretty easy to use and navigate certainly its a dam site easier to use than the current shop interface.
[/ QUOTE ]
I find it hellish.
And for some reason the damn "Price" field where you post the price you're charging for your Salvage (5 inf in my case) doesn't automatically gain focus any more when you drag Salvage / Recipes into the Auction House. When you've 30 or 40 items you're trying to sell this is pretty irritating.
It's like the person who designed it was from 1985 and hadn't heard of such good ideas as hyperlinks (so with one click you can click on a piece of Required Salvage in a recipe and be brought to its listing so you can easily bid on it) or rudimentry things like Favourites or Browsing history.
Excretable. -

Agreed.
At least stick some filters in there. By Origin and By Type ones would make the RWZ vendor a lot less annoying for one (as well as Ghost Falcon although these days I mostly ignore him for buying) -

I believe it is mag 1, which on its own will only stun an underling.
[/ QUOTE ]
A definite contender for "Most Useless Proc"
Along with that "2% chance of stun" PROC.
Why did they even bother? Did no-one in NCNC go "Hang on. That's completely useless altogether. Why are we even bothering with this?" -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, paragonwiki usually says who's most likely to introduce a particular contact. (And Fusionette herself isn't contact, Doc Delilah, Penelope Yin and Faultline Jr. are.)
As for how to make contacts better... Well... "Better" is relative... For example, making them sell something more interesting, besides standard stuff... (Like Yin's unique SOs, or teleports...)
[/ QUOTE ]
They used too. Ages ago Contacts were the only source of level 25 SOs, you couldn't get them in the shops. The powers that be decided that wasn't fair and changed it.
(after I deliberately worked my way towards doing lots of some IP contacts arc to buy Magic SOs off her for inflated prices. Bah!) -

Gonna conced that one actually Carnifax, I think the over abundance of PSW is skewing my vision of doms.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh, and here's me ninja-editing my post to conceed you too have a point on Domination powered AOE mezzes -
[ QUOTE ]
And dominators get a whole damage secondary that at perma-dom levels can do more than a blaster! Which is much more than was intended.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually given this I decided to have a quick look at level 50 blaster powers vs level 50 Doms. Not counting Defiance (so levering things towards the Domi even further) blaster for ranged a Blaster does 173% of the damage of the domi. Even counting the 50% damage boost in Domination the Blaster is ahead, even before he starts using Defiance.
There is the oddball case of Psi Domi's PSW which has always seemed grossly overpowered to me compared to other Dominator assult powers but that's a power imbalance, not an AT one IMO.
[ QUOTE ]
Being able to hold a whole mob full of bosses every time is crazy! And the only thing I actually care about.
[/ QUOTE ]
Reducing the AOE mezzes in some way that they'd have a chance for +mag instead would be reasonable alright.

I don't know about others here, obviously not role players etc, but I just click anything with writing and do my missions, I very rarely read them anyway, so all the wondrous stories people have planned would be wasted on folk like me i'm afraid. But them I don't plan to use the MA anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
This kind of attitude always puzzles me, TBH. Without the storylines, this game is INCREDIBLY boring to play after a few weeks...
[/ QUOTE ]
Have to say I've rarely been doing arcs purely for the storylines. Most of them are pretty darn dull and badly written. At this stage I know most of the damn things off by heart anyway. Newer ones (like the Faultline arcs) tend to be better but even then the most fun aspect is actually doing the missions (like the Faultline 4 way AV one) rather than reading the blurb.
For example I still have no idea why I was fighting Vanguard in the RWZ on Friday (I assume they were rouges of some sort) but I had a lot of fun doing so regardless.
MA arcs will be the same, I'll be judging them mostly on how they play rather than how they read (but bonus points if they read well too). I'd prefer to play a fun, tricky mish that's enjoyable than some snorefest vanilla Council "kill all" regardless of how wonderful the back story is. -

Removes most of the overpoweredness of the AT
[/ QUOTE ]
Corrected for you
I know what you are trying to say (And agree, containment isn't a good idea [2 x damage on a damage capped PSW! - no thanks]), but at the moment dominators that have any amount spent on them can out control controllers AND outdamage pretty much anything. The damage I am not so bothered about (Aside from PSW, which is another matter) but needs to be balanced between in and out of dom, but the control is the thing that really gets me, why even have a controller on a co-op team when a perma-dom can out-hold them, no matter how much the controller spends on his build.
[/ QUOTE ]
1) Perma-Doms are not the base-line to determine the strenght of the AT. I'd strongly disagree with "but at the moment dominators that have any amount spent on them can out control controllers". It's not "any amount", it's the 100s of mill needed to get permadom. (and Controllers can get things like perma-PAs or perma AM or whatever with the same investment, which brings me to...)
2) Controllers also get a full support set. Support sets buff you AND your entire team. A Psi perma-dom might be able to outdamage a Fire/Kin controller but you're then not taking into account what the Controller does for the rest of the team too (like raising their damage to the max), or what debuffs the Controller brings to tackle that AV. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
It'd also be a massive nerf to Dominators control inside Domination (since Containment doesn't do anything for Control)
[/ QUOTE ]
Just give doms the duration and critical mezzes that controllers currently get to go with it.
[/ QUOTE ]
So just turn them into controllers with an Assult set secondary?
Urrgh. Horrible idea. Removes most of the uniqueness of the AT. You'd end up alienating most of the current Dominator population in one fell stroke as well. -
[ QUOTE ]
Or just swap Domination with containment.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that would sort of go against what Castle said about not screwing with perma-doms. It'd also be a massive nerf to Dominators control inside Domination (since Containment doesn't do anything for Control)
[ QUOTE ]
My inclination would be to remove the +damage from Domination, and increase base damage, say to 1.1 melee, 1.0 ranged. But ymmv.
[/ QUOTE ]
This will be what they end up doing, shifting most of the damage bonus from Domination into the AT damage modifiers so that Domination gives Control & End top-up & Mez Protection but no/little additional damage. -
If you're looking to PROC something in Gravity there can be only one choice. Crushing Field.
I'd agree with Cog, slotting your main hold with Procs really gimps the hold aspect of it.
The only time I slot a single target hold for damage is using set IOs once the Hold has been fully slotted up. -

Can you please try , just try to avoid making insulting coments like this?

It wasn't intended as an insult. The marketing people I know pride themseleves in thier ability to sell snow to eskimos.

That's Sales, not Marketing
Always remember the Marketing motto : "We're not screwing the customer. We're just holding them down while Sales screw em" (nicked from Dilbert) -

/unsigned
This, if implemented, would basically mean that recipes that aren't absolutely definitely "good" wouuld just disappear down the sink, with inevitable auction prices increase. For example, pet recipes would suddeenly become MORE expensive heroside. TThis would lead to more INF farms, and INF farms would increase prices for those "good" recipes even further...
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. Unsigned from me too for this reason. I work off buying the less desired recipes for their Enhancement values and don't usally care about Set Bonuses too much. Letting people trade these less desired recipes would mean that those with a massive bankroll would clear out the Auction House of all those recipes, melt them down to Merits and spend the merits. It'd ruin the Auction House even further. -

After finishing the Dark Watcher arc on Friday with my SG I do hope we can make interesting end of mission bits like that, with a constant stream of ambushes. Makes it far more interesting than just hitting the big bag of Hit Points until it falls over.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about a stream of ambushes with an AV in each one, set on a timer so if you aren't fast enough you get multiple AV's kicking your butt?
[/ QUOTE ]
Poor buggers would probably end up getting farmed
If it had a reasonable timer on it this could be great fun. Just normal ambushes (with bosses) forcing the team to fight on two fronts really adds to the chaos (or maybe we were just a particularly chaotic teamGood fun though).

Which means that anyone with a load of mates will rapidly raise to the top while some unknown genius stays at the bottom of the ratings. Asking a community to rate almost always turns into a popularity contest. Some genuinely good ones will raise to the top, but the majority will get there due to "I have to vote my mate up"
[/ QUOTE ]
Excessive voting up OR down will be looked at by the devs (more likely to be GM's) in case of abuse. They've already said this a few times... As long as they keep to their word on that, it shouldn't get too bad.
I also suspect that places like the Titan Gaming Network will do reviews of player content, so will be a prime place for finding the good ones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, I think good ones will get plenty of community plugging, regardless of who published them. In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see a Titan site devoted to Mission Architect missions popping up.

Hyperbole very much?
I think you're all overreacting rather strongly to be honest.
What is surprising is how quickly some have switched from "Everything is rosey, stop saying there's less people on Server X" to "Ahhh. The sky is falling"
It's a reorg, it's most likely the servers will stay up for the medium term and then there may be some sort of switch / change. Until that's confirmed people should probably stop working themselves into such a lather. -

Like when you used to get all excited in school about the calendar reading something like 9-9-99, but in Nerdese.
Seconds, hours, days, months and years are too tricky for most computer systems to add and subtract in so they represent time in a rawer form (like the number of seconds since 1/1/1970 0:00:00) internally and translate it into our time as needed. -
Ooh, Java uses the same standard (not surprisingly)
That's pretty cool (in a really nerdy way) -

Nah, sounds like far too much effort and we might actually need something like a plot, dammit. Call Auntie and do an 'Enders one instead - more PvP opportunities.

Any game where I could shoot Ian Beale in the face is a winner for me. Of course that goes for Gail Plait too.
Some sort of DC vs Marvel Soaps crossover PvP seems to be in order. -

It never ceases to amaze me how people can judge an entire server population on the actions of a small minority. I'm sure they're are quite a few dedicated and intelligent players on Freedom.
[/ QUOTE ]
So you're forming a judgement without any first hand experience at all?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well unless your suggesting they have taken every CoX player classified as Dumb by some peoples obvious judgements and placed them in Freedom and then put a bar on it too all intelligent people. Then yes i am.
[/ QUOTE ]
People ON Freedumb call it Freedumb.
Seriously. Try going to Altas / Mercy at around 9:00pm GMT, join a few PuGs and then come back and tell us what you think.
Of course there's intelligent and helpful people on it. There's also, thanks to the huge numbers of people who play it, more broadcast spam, lolz and Crash Car PuGs on it too.
Of course the more sensible ones tend to be off in instances leaving Atlas and Mercy at the mercy of the broadcast spammers. -

[ QUOTE ]
And any really good team will have learnt to cope with it and to react accordingly. Storm defenders and controllers might have a hard time getting a PuG of newbies because they are so strongly associated with knockback. Experienced players dont mind, because they know how to handle the chaos and to use it in their own favor.
This might sound arrogant, but if there are team leaders out there who would kick you for using Knockbacks, I would counter with if they cant handle a little knockback, then theyre clearly not up to my standards and I'd kick them in return.
[/ QUOTE ]
TBH rather than arrogant it really does sound like you are less than good teams. Lets take a typical makeup of a team I get in with a tank, ice/psi perma-dom, warshade, blaster and a few controllers or whatever tagging along.
Tank runs in basically to take the alpha, followed by the domi with PSW while the WS and Blaster open up on the AoEs and the rest use whatever debuff/team buff/hold happens to be up at the time. The spawn melts and we move on.
Now throw some PB into the mix knocking all the mobs out of range of PSW and the AoE's and you will be slowing us down. Yes we are all experienced enough to switch tactics and kill the scattered mobs but you will be judged the noob for using the PBAoE KB when it wasn't needed.
Forcing people to adjust to a poor playstyle is why nearly everyone hates KB and gives PB's a bad rep.
As for the [ QUOTE ]
handle the chaos and to use it in their own favor
[/ QUOTE ] there is pretty much no such thing with radial KB. The best you can do is adapt and cope with is. Having all the mobs in one place is ALWAYS better than scattering them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait... I didn't say any of that!
I never admit that I sound arrogant, it's more fun getting it across though my tone. -

This works a lot better with a ranged KD than a PBAOE though...

Ranged KB, not KD.
Nitpicking I know, but if it was a ranged KD then you've no need to be floating around up there like some novelty party balloon.
