  1. It has come to my attention that there are so many parts of this city that I have not yet bathed in the cleansing power of fire. If you have ever teamed with me you would know how much of a travesty this is. Therefore it is now my objective to spam [Ignite] on as many surfaces, and enemies, as I possibly can while I am in-game.

Let no stone be left un-immolated! And I ask you all to join me in making the end of the world more memorable...

Let your final memories not be marred by bleary eyes and heartfelt goodbyes. Let us go into the great unknown in defiance! Let us kick and scream every step of the way, gnashing our teeth and cursing our luck, for we have been denied another day with which to murder the enemy!

Let us stand shoulder to shoulder, heroes and villains, united as one... And spend our final moments lighting our farts in unison! We shall move the very Earth with the power of our discharge!

Let the Rikti invade, for we have cans of beans! Let the zombies rise from the crypts, for we have matches! Let the Praetorians send their Warwalkers, for our cheeks shall slap together with a mighty fervor so righteous the gods themselves shall weep as our trumpets roar!

We shall go on to the end. We shall fart in Atlas, we shall fart on the seas and oceans, we shall squat with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall ignite our city, whatever the cost (in broccoli) may be. We shall fart on the beaches, we shall piss on the landing grounds, we shall crap in the fields and in the streets, we shall pinwheel with the power of our flatus in the hills; we shall never surrender!

...Or maybe I've been drinking too much. Either way, what are your plans to send off?
  2. Only going to touch on Leadership here...

From what I've read of your goals, don't take Leadership. As you probably know, the mez resistances are only going to reduce the duration of those effects (by roughly 42%), not prevent them. It's nice to have, sure, but not game changing. Playing tactically and carrying lavender pills are miles better. The perception is also not going to help since you already have Targeting Drone. One source of perception is all you should ever need.

That said, if you plan to group a lot, the team-wide buffs are not unwelcome and it is perfectly viable to make a support heavy Blaster. (Devices in particular are great for that sort of thing) But if you only aim to better yourself, ditch it. Even assault, it ain't worth the end cost.
  3. Storm Summoning, meet Cardiac.

Now make sweet love to it...

    hey Dechs...

The Jab and Boxing thing was kinda surprising to me... I tend to Box whatever happens to be in front of me when I'm running low because "pfft, 4 end cost? whatever". I never would have guessed it was a tiny little endurance vampire... Lesson learned here. Use a freaking calculator more often.

    hey Dechs...

If I were to really try to pimp myself, it'd have to be recovery and defense. I'm close enough to the soft cap now that a single luck or teammate in range of Phalanx bridges that final 5%. But if I could afford to dump CJ and Physical Perfection in favor of Fireball and One with the Shield, I would be one happy Tanker.

But the budget is quite limited, and I hate the idea of using full sets that may not enhance the power itself as well as Frankenslotting. I'd probably end up sticking to level 50 IOs as well because those recipes seem to be cheaper, and always available. Merits may be able to net a Numina or Miracle down the line... But sifting through all the sets for something that can help me, and not shatter my wallet seems out of my reach right now. My IO-Fu is weak...

...On a side note that I don't expect to solve, does anyone else hate radiation based enemies? I hit -53% def last time I fought Anti-Matter.

That's my build EXACTLY as it stands right now.

My issues. Unsatisfying damage (not important), endurance sucking (ouch), no backup plan when the fit hits the shan and I'm being chiseled into the dirt (the awakens, they do nothing). My regen seems depressingly low after a lucky Cyclops nails my testicles with a KO Blow...

As I'm not 50 yet I don't have Physical Perfection or One with the Shield yet. Though if I could I would LOVE to dump all that in favor of the Pyre Mastery pool. (the fireball, it does something)

Difficulty: Merits flow slowly but I could just hound you for TF runs later. Also my entire life's savings is about 250 million inf. Also I freaking hate hanging out at Wentworths because I'm a disorganized bum. But then you probably already knew that part...
  7. Carlin_NA

    hey Dechs...

When trying to build for a really defensive Tank, skipping some solid attacks becomes a good idea. On my team oriented builds I'm never able to fit in all the shiny orange numbers that I so desperately want, instead replacing a few with Boxing on the way to Weave... I can only fit all the smashing I want when using my second build for soloing or off-tanking. Painful yes, but I'll have Blasters who can pump out the orange numbers for me!

For a similar reason I stopped taking a real travel power. (on anyone, not just Tanks) With Ninja Run and jetpacks galore only Faultline and IP make me pine for Teleport...
  8. "You see that steel gray icon by my name?"

    "Yeah..."

"That doesn't mean I'm a Tank. That's a visual representation of my left testicle."
  9. I hear all this "Warshades are better" nonsense and I can only think of one thing...

    Y'all are sissies!

I jizz lightbulbs and then I hurt things. I need little more than that. Multi-million inf builds? Are you the same people that want more foam padding on playgrounds? RUB SOME DIRT IN IT. Back in my day we went jello wrestling just to frankenslot.

    It wasn't even flavored jello...

Go be purple and emo somewhere else, ya Nancies.

    Archery vs. AR

AR has the potential for lots of Knockback which, used correctly, can be a very defensive option. It also has slightly stronger AoE potential outside of the nuke. The trade off is slightly worse soloing due to lackluster Single Target damage. (though the Energy Secondary can negate this) It can get nice ST damage in Ignite, but that takes setup and time. (it is a DoT)
But the lack of good ST damage is offset by lovely and consistently high AoE damage. It can really shine in protracted and manic fights by just... not... stopping... There's never anything NOT spurting out of my barrel and I don't even use Hasten or IOs.

Archery meanwhile has superior ST damage out of the gate thanks to Blazing Arrow and is the better soloer. It's no slouch in teams but a suitably manic Assault Rifle may be able to outshine you. (Knockback as you try to Rain of Arrows can make you cry silently) And while AR is good at constant DPS Arch has great Burst damage potential.

Though if you're a min/maxer who likes to break the game Arch can be turned into a beast... I'm fine with that. I'll just stick to my rifle and yell at these crazy kids to get off my lawn before I Ignite it.

(authors note: I'm slightly crazy and by no means an expert, so I still highly recommend you just try both of em out and see which is more fun. Performance be damned, lots of folks just can't stand one or the other)
  11. Carlin_NA

    Archery vs. AR

This one's a bit tricky to answer... The two sets perform very similarly and pump out very similar amounts of damage. But if you're a number crunching min/maxer Archery will edge out AR. RoA especially is better than Full Auto. On paper anyway. The delay for RoA's rain has been known to ruin someone's day. ...Mostly because the poor guy was teamed with ME at the time.

However, in the end, it's all about your personal preference. Which of these makes you happy in your pants? Silent but deadly archery... Or THIS IS MY BOOMSTICK!

I've seen this thread before and I've seen it drag on for pages and pages, but in the end there was no winner. There was only "What makes you happy in your pants?".

So my suggestion to you is to go forth and pew pew pew. Roll one of each and find out!

As for secondaries? Energy is probably the go-to set for performance, but Devices is so very thematic... Again I can only recommend what fits your theme and makes you happy.

    ...in your pants.

Is that arc still up? Proving Grounds - Spawn of Satan Edition or something like that?

I need to practice. I'll get back to you on that.

That was Gamma team, actually. Echo was guns guns and more guns. Yet somehow they managed to tear you up even faster than the good ol' "every debuff and mez in the game 'cept fear" Gamma team.
[edit] I forgot the EB at the end. I think he has a fear in there somewhere...

Musta been the cascading -def in all those assault rifles... I'll have to look into that.

And yes the arc is still up. Left just because you folks requested it! Though I'm still not quite sure why those nights were so much damn fun... The debt flowed like water!
  13. On a tangent that has nothing to do with this tread, but is rather a remark from one SG mate to another...

    ...Echo Team still pwnd you.

    That is all.
  14. I believe the Eden Trail map is in the regular rotation. Just gotta pray for the right dice roll.

Many a time has the Fight Night crew gone "Awww shi-" when Eden has popped up... That place is huge!
