I started an Earth/Storm the other day, and so far, he is a) the fastest toon to level 7 so far, b) incredibly fun to play, especially if you have a grounding in Illusion (my main is Ill/emp) and c) quite a few synergies in the powers.

In terms of animated stone, from observation they seem to be fairly useful, especially as you'll have the mobs locked down tight.

Highly recommended, should be comfortable to PvP with too.

Looks ok, I'd ditch Flash (could never get on with that power) one of the invisibilities - probably group, and absorb pain.

On my 30 ill/emp I rarely encounter a situation where a 6 slotted heal other won't fix things, and healing aura tends to fill in the blanks, hence no absorb pain.

From what i know of RA (which isn't much), i suspect you will be ok to slot 3 recharge in each, with spare slots going into them if you have them.

I know some people don't like deceive, I personally love it, but if you are 50/50 on it, you could drop that and take flash later on, combining it with power blast for containment fun.

On the other hand, for my string of piratical characters, mako is a godsend for rp purposes - far better than the justifications i've tried in the past for being a rad/dark, fire/kin or ice/kin

Fortunately, magic origin to the rescue! I think it would be difficult to roleplay for "some" characters, but for most, using the provided storyline should be ok, irrespective of origin.

(plus Rogue isles, kinda a water based environment IMHO, so I totally *get* the reasoning for Mako)

Right, my fire/kin build just isn't feeling "right" - I can't get into the AOE mindset, so I'm considering a rerolled Ice/Kin (which actually might fit the concept more)

Some points - leadership pool is a must for concept. I'm pretty certain I want the rest of the powers, just a question of in what order, and with what slotting (I'm really not sure about the fulcrum shift slotting). Needs to be able to solo and team, and PVP if possible, although I'll probably leave that until I've worked through the PvE stuff.

congrats squire, and to lucion too - he is really motoring (i remember teaming in the twenties with the pair of you, and now you are 8 and 13 levels higher respectively )

I'm by no means an RPing veteran, more of a dabbler, but i can give you my opinion on your questions.

1) Feel free to say gratz in OOC chat eg (Gratz!) - most rp'ers i've encountered use the bracketed text. IC, up to you, the people you are teaming with if you including Dinging as something you roleplay (e.g the flash of light is replaced by a beep from the hero ID)

2)Camera Phones are pretty prevalent in RL society, no reason why they aren't available in Paragon. Also consider using the newspaper photo angle, or any other justification you can imagine.

3) IC team chat could be as simple as the team leader handing out comm devices, or the hero id containing a comm device that can be set to different channels (also contains emergency medical teleport beacon), or push to talk mobile phones, or a magician using telepathy to relay thoughts to each other, or again, the method your imagination constructs, that your team mates agree on.

There are no rules i think, except to be courteous and responsive to the rp of other players. Check the GG Wiki for more info (although i can't remember the link )

A bit about the PotA - we are fairly big, with a fair few 40s and late 30s, covering all ATs. We have a largish base, with all the teleporters, and a lovely large meeting room for coalition meets (just stay out of my chair )

Onto the story - agree with max and wordy that it is much better this way. I'm starting to be intrigued by how this is going to progress, (and I'm very picky ) and a little inspired to write something myself.

Indeed, meant to point you in the direction of creative myself (curse this memory!).

I think this continuation shows some distinct improvement in the pacing of the tale, and more consistency to the approach. I also loved the name of her father Bladikald(?). I have no idea how you came up with that, but I love it!

I respecced out superior invisibility, and have no intention of taking either flash (rubbish preSOs) or group invisibility. I went for recall friend (for taxi'ing and for bring bodies to me for resurrect) and then TP for travel power. I love deceive, it can make a real difference to battles, although the activation is a bit long I also didn't bother with absorb pain, and took the leadership pool (assault and Tactics)
