    Black hole

Yeah, should have made that clear - my main is a troller so my knowledge of mag comes from there... pretty certain that defender/corruptor/mm holds don't 'crit'. Having said that, I never rely on it happenening on my troller, it is just nice when it happens

    Black hole

Pretty certain controller holds are mag 3. Otherwise bang on the money. (the reason you need two holds to mez a boss are you need to top the mag resist i.e mag 3 hold + mag 3 hold = mag 6, boss held. mag 3 hold and blaster mag 1 hold, such as freeze ray also = held boss, as you have applied mag 4 between you. Every now and then, a hold will 'crit', and do a higher level of magnitude, allowing you to hold a boss, or even an AV in one shot Especially funny with confuse )

For PvP, depends on what you are trying to mez, and the level of protection they have.

For things like blackhole, I'd assume a maximum of mag 2, maybe mag 3, so able to intangiblise minions, and some lts (if it 'crits') - putting intangibility enhances in will boost you to a higher magnitude, so would allow lts to be held easily, perhaps bosses, with the occasional Elite Boss/AV if you get lucky.
  4. Everyone?

    Or whoever bribes/flirts with you...
  5. A couple of points that might help. I had similar problems with my rad/dark corruptor in PvP, until I had some things shown to me.

Firstly, the accuracy situation. In PvE, your basic chance to hit is 75%. 1 accuracy SO takes you to about 108% (ish), which allowing for debuffs will mean you should have a 95% chance to hit (the maximum). In PvP, your base accuracy is 50%, so your 1 accuracy SO just takes you to how you were in PvE with no accuracy SOs. You need the 2nd accuracy slot to get to what you are used to in PvE. The good news is that 2slotting accuracy works really, really well in PvE too, so not that big a deal

Dark Miasma. Fear is an awesome tool in PvP, because resistance to it is really, really rare. The duration will be short, but in PvP, putting an opponent out of the fight for even a second is enough to tilt the odds in your favour. Darkest Night is your friend too, and twilight grasp can help mitigate your squishiness.

The biggest thing that allowed me to 'get' PvP in this game? Realising that Team PvP is far, far better than solo PvP.
  6. Pretty much. Some players have specified multiple toons, however only one toon per player can participate. Once you have played a toon in the tournament, that is the only toon you can play in the tournament.
  7. Number of deaths per match doesn't affect your 'lives' directly. If you died say 50 times in the 10 minutes, providing your team got 51 kills (assuming you were the only person on your team to die), then your team would win, and you keep your 'life'. If your team only managed 49 kills, then all of your team would lose, and each of the three of you would lose one 'life'.
  8. Yeah, on the tables I have you are listed as your brute, so all good.

    3vP is coming!

Do you a deal then far-seer... Recruit one more person for union, and we can close the signups with 42 participants on each server
  15. First of all, I salute the endeavour. I know how much work goes into something like this.

That said, some constructive criticism springs to mind, which I hope you don't mind if I share with you.

Firstly, the opening credits are far, far too long. As in 50% of the total running time. I'd urge you to look at how you can cut that down.

Camera work is also an area for improvement - the classic example being one of the (many) city flying scenes; in particular, the croatoa one that shows you flying into a wall in first person :P. Throughout, the choice of camera angle is pretty much the thirdperson standard game view, which is great for playing the game, not so great for seeing what is going on. The best way to get good action footage is to a) use the demorecord function to capture the intial footage, as then you don't have the ui clocking up the action, which you then record the bits you need in fraps, and b) to get a much higher level, invised player to act as cameraman out of the team - they can wander round (or even better, hover) in first person view, capturing good looking shots.

Effects were sparsely used (good!), but some cheese slipped in - the use of black & white in one scene, and the inexplicable use of sepia during the "toggling" scene. I'd consider what you are trying to convey, and use an effect if appropriate to help you establish mood.

Storyline. Well, I might have missed it, but it wasn't apparent what story you were trying to tell. This is probably the most difficult thing to do well, but one that makes the biggest difference to a movie.

The cringeworthy spelling mistake of reborn on the first title frame was a shame too

Things that I thought were done well were - some nice (if overused/long) 1st person flight scenes. Some nice (non-ui) action sequences. A nice, tight end credit sequence. Some cracking music (slayer ftw!)

I have no idea how long you spent on this, but I'm guessing it runs into the 10s of hours - I hope you aren't offended by my critique, but can see where improvements can be made for the next one Again, I salute your hard work and enthusiasm, and look forward to future reborn movies, as I did this one.

    3vP is coming!

Defiant has now closed for signups, and the draw has been made.

Union is awaiting one more entrant, then the signups will close.

The draws will be posted in a fresh thread for Union and Defiant, ready for the first two rounds to occur on June 1st.
  18. Posting for this entrant.

    Jumanjionic Blaster Sonic/Energy @Jumanjimon

Union and defiant both need 1 more entrant each to take us to a round number, after which we will close the signups to make the draws for week 1. First reply in this thread will secure the place.
  19. Well, I've no real experience of spines, but i know a fair bit about /regen stalkers.

With properly slotted regen, you are able to handle a fair bit of damage in PvE and PvP, providing you don't take too much in one burst. Slot Reconstruction, Dull Pain and Instant healing with 3x recharge, 3x healing, and I recommend 3 slotting integration, fast healing and health with heals too - basically boosting your regen rate as high as it can go.

A lot of stalkers rely on the hide+stealth combo, usually taking either grant invis or invisibility as well. This is not necessary to be effective in the zones, but certainly helps if AS is going to be a big part of your game. (EM doesn't need it to be). Spend as much time as you can practising being stealthy, by using the scenery and different angles of approach.

Get a tough hide, you are going to be peppered with immature comments, usually about your bravery - a good point is that regen stalkers can quite happily stay and scrap, so feel free to stay and pick up some extra kills while you wait for placate to recharge
  20. and another gratz to another Ranger dinging the big one!
