I enjoy the US version of The Office and South Park. And if you've got Netflix I'd suggest catching The Chapelle Show on there too.
I tried Parks and Recreations on there, but it seemed too much like The Office that it was distracting. And I also tried Arrested Development but didn't find it all that funny. -
Okay I'm just guessing, but does the cameo that folks are raving about occur during a sequence where Xavier and Magneto are recruiting folks for the academy?

Didn't the OP specifically ask for options besides magic and Kryptonite? >.>

Quote:Really? I thought Jack setting up his escape mousetrap style in front of everyone was indicative of how lazy the franchise has become.I had a different experience. While I'll grant that Blackbeard was not as menacing as Davy Jones, I thought there was peril a-plenty. And it's a Pirates of the Caribbean flick, which is to say that it's a romp, not a thriller.
The beginning action sequence was terrific, and the scene where we meet Angelica was every bit as fun as the reveal in the first movie that Will the blacksmith was also a swordsman. Nearly as good as the second film and waaaay better than the third; I don't regret spending a rainy afternoon at the matinee. -
I'm kind of excited about this movie. I have been ever since the first decent trailer came out. Something about it gave me the impression that the folks behind this one were going to put more care into the film than the previous x-movies.

It felt like too much of a rehash of the first one, and the love plot between the missionary and the mermaid seemed totally out of place, which becomes evident when you realize just how little interaction there was between Jack and those two characters.

Correction: I blame whoever mindwiped the concept of Elseworlds stories from the DC staff.

Eh, I dunno, I think he should bulk up more. But that might conflict with his Old Spice deal.

She doesn't look half bad in those screen caps. That first one definitely reminds me of Odette Yustman, though.

Hoping to update this again soon. I've actually been snagging a lot of stories that I've been meaning to read for a long time. My most recent read was the latest Invincible Ultimate Collection. That series really grew on me.

Or the chunk of him that survives is just a small meteorite now and becomes a part of the Corps in a lesser capacity like Ganthet.

Quote:We just need to all get together and form a geek culture council to advise Hollywood on these sorts of things. Thanks! Was just checking to see exactly what you meant.
Yeah, it's all just opinions, of course, but she's always seemed beautiful to me. She seems a bit too striking to call common, but no arguments here, as it's just opinions.
I can say that she has a sort of, almost awkward, rugged/oddness about her, but I don't think it detracts from her beauty (and likely adds to it).
Regardless, I totally agree with you that the big difference in that picture seems to be the smile.
I don't think that the uproar over the costume and initial photos led to the pilot being turned down (you never really know), but I do think they sure mishandled all of that!
A shot of her in that costume, smiling... Just might have made more people go... "Ahhh, look, it's Wonder Woman".
Something nice about seeing her smiling in that outfit.
Seems like a lot of failure all around this project. -
Quote:She just doesn't look all that great as a brunette, but as a blonde and at her best, which is what we tend to base this sort of thing on anyway what with the wonder of makeup and photoshop, it can be hard to argue that she isn't gorgeous. She looked a bit on the frumpy side in Legion, but in Friday Night Lights she was downright fine.Handsome and beautiful mean roughly the same thing, but when you call a girl handsome, it basically says she's common.

Quote:Well keep in mind that in the movie basically everyone was against it from the start. River and the Alliance practically forced the whole situation on them.I like Serenity, but I have some problems with it in general. Namely the way that they go from the series, where the crew is usually running small jobs and trying to come out just far enough ahead that they can keep in the air for one more day, to suddenly risking their lives to oppose the government. It wasn't an illogical leap, just enough of a change in theme that it left me feeling a little cold.

Just go ahead and order the set on DVD or BluRay already. You will eventually. Might as well get it out of the way now.
Seriously, looking back, they had a very short run but were able to squeeze in stories that were so different conceptually without compromising the high quality that you have to wonder if the series lived on how long they could have kept that up, then you're brought down by the fact that we'll never know. -
Bleh, I thought these would be animated.

I wonder if the plan will end up being letting Cass take in even more souls so he does go nuclear and take out heaven and possibly hell. Probably not, since they try to save their friends as much as possible.
One thing, though, is that if Cass is supposedly the new god, he's gotta know that Sam and Dean aren't going along with it, so he might have a lot of juice, but still fall short of omnipotence.
There's also the chance that the original god comes back, or maybe they'll get in touch with Kali. -
I think Michael Bay wanted to release a clip without an explosion just to **** with us.

This is why I tend not to pay attention to things as they happen and wait til the dust settles to see if it's worth picking up in trades.

Quote:I'm going to pretend that Ultimates post-Millar didn't happen, so I'll just say that Thor was actually a god in the Ultimate U.As I mentioned upthread, the costume comes from Olivier Copiel's redesign when Straczynski took over the book. The UU Thor basically wears a leather vest and leather pants and has a belt that apparently gives him his power. I haven't read Ultimate Thor, but in the rest of the UU books, he appears to be a delusional hippie who has a piece of high-tech gear that mimics the god of thunder's abilities.

Quote:Whoa whoa whoa, there.A black man should not play a traditionally white character just like a white man should not play a traditionally black character.
The casting directors job is to not only judge acting but also to judge the physical appearance of the character said actor is trying to portray.
Kevin james is a great actor but you don't see him suiting up in blue tights trying to play Superman do you? What is that discrimination against fat people?
A Norse god is not a one size fits all role so yes skin color, physical fitness and looks in general should play a part in casting.
That's just going too far.
Kevin James is a great actor?
