I was, in fact, thinking one for each damage type for a total of 2.5% to everything.
Fire would be Hellions, gotten from, as said, killing Skulls and setting fires.
Negative Energy would be skulls, gotten from the Hellspawned badge, Bone Collector, and I'd say add an accomplishment badge for "Give 'em Hellion" (3K Kelvin) and stick that on the list. Add one badge that takes a bit more effort, too, because Firebug isn't exactly easy.
The other elemental resistance accolades might not be involved in joining enemy groups, but I'd like each enemy group to have an accolade that you can wear to say "I'm a member," with the possible exception of the Rikti. (And yes, I'd say even the DE. There's enough Plant dominators out there who would happily stand with the Hamidon).
Hero side, I'd want them avaliable for Longbow, Wyvern, Hero Corps, and the PPD. And I mean just a badge called "PPD" so your character would read as "Charactername, PPD"
Various benefits from various accolades would include...
-Summon a pet for 2-4 minutes, recharge time one hour.
-2.5% resistance to one energy type
-1% global damage increase
-3% increase time on one Mez type (Finder would certainly be required for at least one of these)
-Various temporary powers with long cooldown times (Think along power lines with the Crey Pistol/Stolen Immobilizer Ray)
-Costume pieces normally unique to enemy groups
-Permanent use of the halloween costume for a specific enemy type -
I'd love to see the souvenirs get cases and frames. Or have some of them unlock costume pieces. I'm sure it would take a while for ALL of them to do that, but start with the biggies (like a framed invitation to Viridian's conference and Statesman's Faceplate [which, if I remember right, is normally only avaliable redside?]) and gradually add to them.
Also: Mongoose gave me snakeskin boots, right? I feel like this should unlock a "Snakeskin Boots" costume piece. -
Agreed there. Maybe an accolade in the tutorial zone for getting Jailbird, defeating 20 prisoners, and doing one other thing.
-
I don't know hero badges well enough to say what would be required, but a Longbow summoning power and one that required the Firefighter and Arson-Prevention badges, plus Defeat 50 Hellions rather than Skulls.
-
I'm in favor of this, and let's up it. Let's say you can have mission 4 be entirely different depending on whether or not Mission 3 was successful or not. I'd really like to be able to make a "branching" storyline.

One of my characters is a large, red demon with cloven hooves and giant horns. One of my other characters is a Hellion named "Damned Awesome." I really don't see it being an issue.
But either way, the 2.5% fire resistance is the point here, not the Hellion logo. -
I've been looking at the ever expanding badge list and the list of accolades that DO things, and I'm thinking... Wouldn't badges mean a lot more if more of them had effects? Not huge crazy like Born in Battle, but things more on par with the Day Job accolades. Here's just a few simple suggestions... (Suggestions are all redside because that's what I play more by a significant margin, but assume mirrors for each accolade avaliable to bluesiders)
-Favored by Arachnos (Mirror: Longbow Operative, similar badges for other groups)
--Requirements: Villain, Portal Hopper, Arachnos Rising, Wolf Spider Enforcer, and a pair of Exploration badges.
Benefit: Once per hour, you can summon a Wolf Spider Enforcer as an ally. It lasts for 4 minutes, or until it is killed.
-Hellion
--Requirements: Bonecrusher, Kill Skuls, Forged by Hellfire, Firebug
Beneifit: You gain 2.5% fire resistance. You unlock the Hellions logo as a costume piece on all characters.
Simply put: accolades that provide very minor bonuses would make badge hunting as a whole more rewarding. Nothing bigger than summoning a Minion, and no bonuses bigger than invention sets would grant. -
A simple question that will determine part of my character's fate... is Knockout Blow, as used by a Mastermind with Leviathan Mastery, right handed or left handed? As Cap'n Geist has a hook for a hand, I may not take it if I can't perform it with the hook.

A bit more clarification.
RPCongress- An In Character channel where heroes occasionally talk to each other. "Restore Paragon Congress" in character, it's usually for in-character requesting of aid.
RPVillains- An In Character channel where villains occasionally talk to each other. An open radio band in character, it's usually used for talking about jobs and occasionally requesting help. Sometimes this channel is used for making fun of Ms. Liberty.
RPC OOC- An Out Of Character channel where the players try to get RP teams together or try and set up for random RP. Often filled with random chatter. We're always friendly to new people. If you're looking for RP, join up, introduce yourself, etc. Best way to introduce your character is to show up at Pocket D on Tuesday Nights in the bar above the Heroside elevators. -
RPCongress is active, but it's not the REAL channel. The real channel is "RPC OOC," where we talk about teaming and RP related stuff.
If you are looking for RP, join RPC OOC. We're at the Pocket D every Tuesday nights, and asking in RPC OOC will USUALLY result in finding some RPers to hang out with at pretty much any time.
As said, the big RP nights are at Pocket D on Tuesdays, but randomly I'll invite everyone who's on to come RP at my Villain Group base. (Usually a few times a week) -

I can see that being done in RP SG's where they treat alts as seperate from their owners accounts.

And just to give credence to this statement: yes, I do it. My Mastermind, Cap'n Geist, is in a VG owned by one of my other characters, and Geist doesn't have leader permission because, in character, he's just not that important. -
I preface my comments by admitting that I am
a) a relatively new player and
b) someone with experience trying to catch 'em all in various games
The main problems here seem to be...
a- Time required to gain the badges
b- Makes Badgering impossible (Badging? Badgerizing? ... Collecting)
c- Rewarded for NOT playing
d- Double XP as a bad thing.
On the subject of A, I agree, like most others, that it takes a great deal too much time to gain any of these badges. I think the answer is to add playtime without removing badge time. Someone earlier in this thread mentioned something that I will reiterate because I think it's a great idea:
Make the badges still require 30 days, but make a "day" count as 8 hours out of a given 24 hour period, with credits to only one badge each day. That would mean that as long as your character logged out the same place every night when you went to bed, you would get the badge in precisely one month. This seems to be a much better option than just reducing time, and for hardcore badgers it only requires them to a) get some sleep instead of playing for 17+ hours a day and b) take 5 minutes to relocate before signing off. If you're on the game when YOU'RE asleep, and doing something other than chilling in Bloody Bay/Siren's Call/etc, I have no sympathy for you.
On the subject of B, I agree with the idea of "one badge, 31 flavors" that others have suggested, with your day job switching when either job B has gotten more days than job A or you've been doing job B for 30 days without doing job A at all. The Accolades would be awarded based on hidden counter, not based on badges. Note that with this method, the Accolades would STILL take a great deal of time to obtain, but there would be nothing discouraging you from PLAYING during that time.
Back to the subject of it only being a reward for not playing, there should definitely be a LINK to in-game content. For example, you should be able to earn bonus time for your Shopkeeper badge for making money at Wentworths, or you should get extra time for your policeman badge, or whatever it was called, whenever you do police radio missions. The villainside would instead give bonus time for doing missions for Operatives, for example, because Newspaper missions are semi-required wheras police radio missions are easy to overlook.
If, for example, you get +1 cop day per Safeguard mission earned and completed, it would enable people to put in extra effort to be a policeman, while not taking away from the premise that this is what your character does when not around. I think +1 day per 4 missions (roughly an hour of gametime) would work fine, especially coupled with the premise that you can't have more than one day job at a time. The in-game content should ALSO allow you to more easily refill your accolade powers. The point is, this should be a system that says "We're still going to reward you for playing the game... But if you don't want to focus too hard on it, a little bit of effort before you log out will still get you bonuses over time."
And finally, on the subject of double XP... I just want to be able to shut it off or turn it into double infamy or prestige. Far too often, I don't get to finish a mission chain because I outleveled a contact. It's really starting to get on my nerves. Yes, I can go back through Ouroboros, but some of the mission chains are rather long. Yes, I am trying to hit 50 on my main so I can make an Arachnos Soldier, but I find leveling up such an easy, painless process ALREADY that I don't want it to go so fast that I can't finish my storylines. That being said, for those who WANT it, double XP is fine... Just don't force me to commit regular seppeku just so I can be in enough debt to not outlevel my missions.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
On an additional note, can it please be set up so that villains can log out somewhere to have "The Creatures Of Hell Do Not Have Day Jobs" as a day job? I see a lot of demons running around the Rogue Islands, including one of mine, and I feel demon is a full time job.
