Just a note, when I typed in www.coh.com just now, it sent me to the old site.

Points to the new site for me. Either they work *very* fast, or you've still got the DNS for the old site in your cache.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ah yes...now it works. >.<

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same here...wonder if there's a way to note that somewhere so people who don't visit the forums or aren't tech-savvy know what to do?

Same for me..went to old site with left and right sidebars but no news feed...worked on my other computer though. I'll try emptying cache as mentioned...
  3. I love the new site...great job

Something you might want to look at though is the Archetypes page. I noticed that Masterminds don't have thugs listed...it says there are only 4 (bots, ninjas, zombies, mercenaries).

I also noticed on the archetype page that the symbols for each archetype have color on the edges of the circle to make a square...not sure if that was done on purpose or if it's supposed to be translucent.

The real reason is that CuppaJo left and there are no updated official guide to guide threads (That I know of) concerning the Archetypes. Best thing to do is use the search function. I think they will make updates guides to guides once they get the new forum up and running.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Guide to guide lists are made by players and updated by Ex Libris. I did them twice for blasters and once for brutes and controllers. Some haven't been updated in a while, such as the scrapper guide to guides.

Not many people write guides mainly because there isn't much of a point. With the addition of the real number system, comparing power choices is incredibly easy.
  5. Thanks for the reply, Allastor

A lot of the powers in the Fire Blast and Ice Manip. sets depend on personal preference. As far as Fire Blast powers, I personally like all of them, except Rain of Fire (although many people enjoy it...I recommend keeping it if you find it's uses) and Blazing Bolt, which I got anyway for set bonuses (only power I have access to that accepts Snipe sets)

As far as Ice Manip., I personally skipped the melee attacks (Ice Sword and Frozen Fists), but some people like the melee. But to b honest, Frozen Fists isn't really worth the slots...I would personally drop it for Hasten in your case. The other powers I recommend keeping.

In regards to Force Mastery, I have an Ice/Energy Blaster who has that set, and I really enjoy the 3 powers you mentioned (Personal FF, Temp. Inv., and FoN), and I recommend staying with those 3 powers, unless you think you'd prefer another set (I personally only have experience with Flame and Force, and enjoy them both)

For pools...unless it's a personal preference, I would personally drop Air Superiority and Fly for Super Jump and Acrobatics...I personally prefer SJ over Fly, and Acrobatics is always nice to have for the KB and Hold resistance. Although, I do see why you would like to keep Air Superiority for the knockdown...you could possibly drop RoF or Blazing Bolt for it, depending on what powers you think are important.

I hope this helps at least a little =P I know I overused the word "personally", but as I said, this build has a lot of personal preference powers
  6. Posts asking for builds should be in the corresponding archetype forum...in this case either Scrapper or Stalker, whichever you're looking for help for.

This thread is for posting Guide or FAQ links for Blasters. Please create your guides in the "PlayerGuides" forum (since posts in that section do not roll off) and link the thread here. Also, do not post your guide in this thread - only the link to your guide. For non-Blaster guides, check the master list of all Guides in the Guide to Guides.

    Failing any clear identifier from the poster, I will go by the original post date vs. Issue releases (I1: 6/30/04, I2: 9/17/04, I3: 1/5/05, I4: 5/5/05, I5: 9/1/05, I6: 10/28/05, I7:6/6/06, I8 :11/28/06) - e.g., if it was posted in March/05, it is an I3 Guide.

Guides appearing here were gleaned from links posted in one of the "Guide to Guides" threads (the Blaster GtG or the GtG threads in the "Player Guides" forum). We cannot sift through the hundreds of individual threads to find a posting, so be sure to 1) place your guide in the "Player Guides" forum, nowhere else and 2) post a link to it in a "Guide to Guides" thread!

    Hey, I'm no joker!

And I picked you because I knew you knew what was up. You think pretty lowly of yourself for being AR/Dev, but for one of the most lolful combos for blasters to have, you pull it off amazingly well PW. The shouts of "DAH! WEBNADED!" were only overshadowed by the shouts of "DAH! GLUE ARROWED!" during the matches.

You're the Ford Fiesta in the Indy 500, and you're still placing top 10. Speaks volumes for how well you do.

  12. I've ran the Katie TF with AA about 4 or 5 times...but I can tell you he's run it a lot more...I've gotten upwards near 100 invites to it (not complaining, I like it) and I think I've seen him almost every time I'm on doing the Katie TF. I can honestly say he really knows how to get the job done, especially with a PUG...and judging by the Airman newsletters, Katie TFs aren't the only tricks he has up his sleeves

But anyways...on the topic of Katie...I've found that his advice for doing it quickly is very useful. And to those complaining...remember that a guide is merely a suggestion and how one person views the topic..amendments can be done to any guide to suit your own opinions!

I also started a newbie fire/ice blaster on Liberty, for a future elemental-themed team, and solo'd her up to level 4. I've tried making ice/ice blasters before but I never get far on them, since I don't like being forced to take one of Frost Breath, Frozen Fists or Ice Sword at level 4, all of which I hate; with a fire/ice blaster, though, I took Fire Blast, Fireball, Flares and Chilblain by level 4 and like them all so far. A certain someone has been itching for me to mention him by name in this journal, but I usually try to avoid naming names so as not to hurt anyone's feelings, but I figure it is legit to mention that I drew some inspiration from reading Camo Fire's fire/ice blaster guide.

Last Friday night I started out playing Police Woman (50 AR/dev blaster), helping an LBXer with an Ouroboros flashback of the Division: Line story arc, with Enemies Buffed and No Temp Powers as challenge settings. He had been trying to solo it as a blaster but repeatedly got clobbered and so he asked for help. We ended up forming a team of 3 blasters and 1 scrapper and trying the story arc. During the first mission the team leader immediately realized that he had been on Invincible difficulty (which may have contributed to his earlier problems..) and then asked to restart on Heroic difficulty. We did so, then after one mission, the scrapper quit, leaving 3 blasters against a whole story arc full of Rikti. There were a lot of missions that sounded tantalizingly stealthable (clicking glowies and defeating named bosses) but were actually deathtraps due to the high perception of Rikti drones. This resulted in the other two blasters faceplanting, a lot. I managed to avoid dying to this because I had both stealth and Personal Force Field to protect me, though Enemies Buffed plus the native accuracy of Rikti drones meant they were actually able to stun me out of Personal Force Field a few times. Fortunately, a break free and some strategic running away kept me from dying to this. With medicine pool I was also kind-of the healer for our 3 blaster team. It took awhile, but we eventually managed to get through the hordes of Rikti and completed the flashback in 3hrs, getting us the Lionhearted and Limited badges.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I only did that arc once before we did it...the first time, when I duo'd with a scrapper, it went a little smoother (I think less deaths than our 3 blaster team) and we only had problems in that one mission with the suicidal hostage.

  19. I recommend posting this in the "Stalker" forum.
  20. Although you are in the worng forum...

All you really need is photoshop, and it is quite simple. I can't really explain how to do it, since it's different in different versions of photoshop.

I recommend asking in the Player Questions forum.
  21. My MA/Regen has Integration 5 slotted and has all primary attacks 6 slotted (Except Thunder Kick with 5), so I never saw the issue. As far as Revive, I never got it, so I was just trying to think of a way to make it slightly useful.
  22. I believe that all uniques, including Numina +regen/recovery, work as long as it's slotted. Meaning that if it's slotted in a toggle power, it works even if the toggle is off. If slotted in a click power, Instant Healing for example, it works while it is on and I am pretty sure for 120 seconds after it shuts off.
  23. Go post this in the Scrapper forum, please.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Basically, slot Numina and Doc Wounds until you run out of inf ?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seems like that, doesn't it? =P

As I wrote the guide, I began to notice how much repeating I did, but let's face it...Doctored Wounds and Numina are 2 really good sets. And Regeneration is focused around healing powers, so naturally, you should go for the good healing sets.

My comment on the bottom of the guide I basically used to show that I recommend using mostly Doctored Wounds, since you get a better return for your money, mainly due to the +recharge that I found to be VERY helpful on my farming MA/Regen. Numina is also useful, but more for the Regeneration and Health aspect, although it costs MUCH more money.

Basically for the argument between the two, I'm trying to say that Doctored Wounds should be slotted at least 2-3 times (I suggest Reconstruction, Instant Healing, and Integration), while Numina can be slotted a little less for the added regeneration and health (set bonuses for 2 and 3 slotting, so I suggested it in Dull Pain).
