Announcing: the debut of Ars Robotica.
We are more like a Superteam than an SG. Uniform, powerset, and name guidelines are required for admission. We are brand new and still under the new member prestige bonus cap.
The concept: A coven of Technomancers, using technology in sync with magic to become nigh-unstoppable.
The Uniform: Stealth outfit from boots up. Tech 2 shoulder pads, Hooded head with a Robotic face skin. Trenchcoats are allowed, as will be capes once we get there. Primary color is Black, accent color is your choice. Outside of this, there is some customization allowed.
Powersets: We are a Bots/Dark Miasma Mastermind Super-Superteam. You can pick all your own powers without criticism, however. (we ask so much already!)
Naming convention: Names need to begin with "Ars" and end in "robotica" and have a middle name in an archaic language and having to do with magic, tech, or related. Examples: Ars Arcanum, Ars Atra, Ars Mecha.

And BB isn't useless: I go in there to farm a Shivan Shard before a mission I don't feel 100% confident on. Very useful. -
I had a blast. Two blasts, actually. Got my Main the Watchman accolade, filling in that gaping Psi hole in his defense. Then I turned it over to my top alt and started the hunt with her. If only we weren't fighting so blasted close to the BM... We lost something like 8 Heavy Armors to the killzone around the Market, on account of the invasion being too close to the truck. Bah. I could have had the Chief AND sentry badges last night if not for that. Oh, well. Definitely looking forward to Saturday and finishing my acc on her.

I agree with Beggly: There needs to be a 20-34 or even 25-35 zone for midrangers to rock some RWZ goodness.

Those "sporadic" events are the result of a team completing the Lady Grey TF in the Rikti Warzone. It triggers a random zone invasion event. These are scheduled, 24-hour periods of sustained raiding, like the invasion event when I10 started. Probably going to be on the same 3-hour timer too. UXB badge, here I come!
I might even decide to throw down with some of my alts and get it for them; there's going to be enough invasions to go 'round.
You don't have to be the one to deal the coup de grace to a UXB to get the credit, right? You just have to participate in dismantling it, like with the Heavies?
Also: For those of you complaining about lag: It's your own machines that are incapable of keeping up with the situation. Granted, it's a ridiculous amount of work to ask of a machine, but it's NOT something that the dev's can fix without implementing FX suppression code with the event, and even that wouldn't help the massive number crunching involved with all the moving bodies in an invasion knot. Turn your graphics all the way down if you're heading into an invasion event, upgrade your machine. -
Hm. I see a need for TP on a stalker to make for the door and telegank him without having to run through that crap.

Has anyone checked whether General McDorkus can be TP'ed? That seems like a good workaround until his AI can be fixed.

I have documented (screencapped) the Dropships in Sharkhead forming the Caterpillar of Death/Doomtrain loop behind the hospital during invasion events. I counted about ten ships in the chain. There also seemed to be some rubberbanding and collision/clipping with local geometry going on.
Castle/Lighthouse/anonymous redname, would it be possible to tweak the dropship code to despawn/die if they clip each other or the buildings? Because that would A: be much more realistic than Giant Caterpillar of Doom! and B: Look pretty impressive graphically. Flying objects that crash into buildings or other objects should not survive to loop and do it again. And again. And shoot you while they're doing it.
/bugged it, and thought I'd mention it here. Fortunately, the Doomtrain loop does NOT extend over the hospital itself, so you won't get one-shotted coming out the door after just getting back off your face. -
