I would use a similiar standard at least for a while in the reverse... Do you KNOW they know the art is done? Have they read the email reminding them of expected payment? But if the answer is yes to these two questions, probably a couple three days is sufficient unless they're giving out some semi plausible excuse. -

I believe I somehow missed the fact the entire phrase was underlined and only noticed the one word. Either that or my mind just didn't leap upon the potty humor, which would be suprising considering my mind.
So with that in mind, you have my apology for assuming your mocking was aimed at a lack of understanding the word.
(I still think everyone should read more. Expand their knowledge base. And beat up teachers who don't do their jobs... Err, yell at! I mean yell at teachers, of course!) -

Yes, it is not the most common use of the word but really? It's not so archaic a use that I had think about it or look it up. Read more. Expand your knowledge base. Go beat up your teachers for not doing their jobs!(Errr, just kidding on that last one. Yell at them but no beating up.)
Edit to add: I've still not explored Praetoria but I have noticed on the boards that a couple groups use really unique phraseology and such - Is the "official" language very officious or flowery? Perhaps it was an attempt to tie in to that? *shrug* Just thinking... -

Egads, this ain't becoming an issue, is it? My point was just that if you think something is a violation then you should report it - Posting that it may be one is just going to create friction and issues and may not even get an official ruling anyway....
Or, if you want to go the non-official route - pm the possible offender and express your concerns. *shrug*

What Foxy said - Seek out cosplay tutorials and such, they must be out there.
But also, a lot will likely have to do with your ability to sew (or learn to) and how creative you get. I suspect there's a decent cosplay niche even on DA, I see bits and pieces there without even looking on occasion. -

Still, as others mentioned, carving is welcome here! We'll take fruit carvings, pencil drawings, finger paintings, boobie caligraphy or whatever else you can come up with! Just so long as it's Halloween and CoH related and fit for posting on the boards!

Alrighty, several have suggested an Art Jam but nobody has yet to throw down the challenge so I guess I will!
The first CoH Jam theme will be Halloween! Obvious and cliche but why mess with the classics?
Rules:
Make art that connects to both City of Heroes and this month's theme (Halloween)
Anyone and everyone can enter - talent not required, nor is entering every month. Jump in and out as youplease.
Put in your entry anytime between now and the end of October.
Art is art, enter drawing, computer generated images, photomanips, sculpture, video, writing, whatever. This is all about having fun and having an excuse to create do whatever works for you is good.
At the end of October I'll "tag" someone else to pick the theme for the next month from this months entries. It won't be the "winner" but rather just someone whose entry I liked for some reason... Basically I think it best if we rotate "hosts" and this is how I chose how to do so...
Any suggestions just give a shout, I'm wide open on this... Just been thinking the boards been quiet and needed some more arts so figured i'd see if this idea floats.
That's all I can think of right now - there's no winners or losers so no need for a lot of rules. Just have it ok to post on the boardsand all is good.

Still, I applaude your decision to postpone. I think more artists should strive to be responsible on turnaround times and just how much work they can take on at one time. -

Personally I see nothing wrong since it's generally showing nipple that decides such things. A silly rule (really, pasties make it clean and tasteful? Outfits painted on so you can see every bump and detail except the actual flesh pass muster?) but it seems to be the rule nonetheless., and I see no nipple shown. (I am looking via my iPhone but *shrug*)
Frankly I find the piece of art in question to be tasteful and not overly provocative or lewd. -

First up is a pic from Andantonius (hopefully I spelt that right!) - It was a fan/tribute piece he did of Calvin and Hobbes which really caught my eye - he doesn't usually do superheroes - but I absolutely LOVE what he did with Fenian here...
Next up is a sketch and a half from Manic-Pixie. These aren't completed yet but who says ya have to wait for the finished work to enjoy it??

Nice additions indeed. One thing I'm curious about though:
It looks to me like the last couple or so Comrad Hero pieces you posted have him looking a bit younger and less "weathered" or "seasoned" than the image that's been built up in my mind of the character. I'm curious if this is intentional, coincidental, or just something wrong with my.mental image of the character? Perhaps it's just me perceiving a difference?
Whatever though, very nice looking pieces!
