Zortel, as you'd know if you read Shadowe's post. If they were in range of you to hear your chat, you were in range of them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Other than popping up on the GGOOC, message of the day, Zortel doesn't show up in chat log at all, hence me asking what char she was on.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Try reading local. You know, the channel where all the RP takes place. Where we asked you to either stop spamming Self-desrtuct, or move away.

Zortel and Veskit aren't on GGOOC, so they wouldn't have said anything there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah you mean that ridiculously fast scrolling chat, that is hard to keep a conversation going with a single other person, assuming more than two conversations are going on in the area?

Let along keep up with out of character stuff, from some one else's conversation.

A /tell would of been politer, and actually noticed.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
I asked. Zortel asked. I think Veskit did, but I'm not entirely sure. We asked in local using OOC tags.

    We were ignored.

So saying that we're just going off about it on the boards is a load of poppycock, because at the time you REFUSED to do anything about it, even when directly asked, politely. That's bad manners.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A tell would of been politer and more importantly, something that doesn't rely on range for me to pick up.

I just went through the damn chat log again and I get this

    09-17-2008 21:33:56 [Local] Shadowe: <color #ababad><bgcolor #010101>((Okies))

    I also get a

    09-17-2008 21:33:29 [Local] Erica the Butler: <color #0101ff><bgcolor #5ca3ff>((What Z said))

    From pointy.

Now if some could tell me what Z's name was I might be able to see if it was a message even picked up by my chat, 'cus between those are a lot of global talk.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Shadowe says you WERE asked to move, yet you didn't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then Shadowe is incorrect, I was never asked to move, in fact I just checked my chat logs for every single tell I received that day, also looked over GGOOC and can't see a message there.

On a side note anyone know a chat parser? It's bloody tough on the eyes reading it in a text document.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
I think I woke up in Groundhog day today!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't rob a bank until you are sure though.

So basically everyone needs to check with you and whether you, feel like acting in character or not?

If you decide you don't want to get involved, then the decision is all up to you, like every time you ignore a Rikti raid happening in another zone, exact same situation in fact.

Realistically most 'hero' characters, should IC go to fight of the Rikti, even if they don't participate in the actual Game play fight.

But ah excuse me I didn't know one of your powers, was a fun negating zone, where only events that have been double checked with you can happen in a certain radius.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is an old argument that's NEVER going to settled, but comes down to one thing. Manners.

Contrary to what you might think, some people at the statue MIGHT just have their own things they want to do that night. When someone comes along and does something which, if people want to stay in character, they CANNOT ignore, then you are forcing YOUR fun on THEM. This is also known as god-modding and is widely considered to be just about the rudest thing you can do to another RPer.

No one is saying you can't do that, but the polite thing to do is to NOT do it right in the middle of a crowded area, and disrupt what other people want to do.

Now, no doubt you'll say that they should just move, but really, why should they? In all likelyhood, they were already at the statue, so it should be the ones with the "plot" who move.

Would you like it if the tables were reversed and someone ruined your plans for the evening? It's easy enough to counter your bag thing, but we choose not too as, once again, it's rude to do so. Is it REALLY so hard to treat others with equal respect?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Had I been asked to move I would of done so, after all RP wise I was playing an inanimate object, all it would of taken was a tell or two to have the objects moved away from the 'citizens'. However instead we have a situation where one group decides that rather than communicating to the other group, they'll just [censored] about it on the boards.

Globals might of helped but I tend not to read GGOOC when RPing, as the current massive rants about everything from capacitor advancements in microchips to transhumanism and the effect on the NHS, get distracting to say the least.

    [ QUOTE ]

This is where my head needs rewiring cause those 7 would only get the same xp that they would get if they were operating a +1 mission on their own level.

[/ QUOTE ]They'll kill far more mobs in far less time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yup!

Lets say the PL team is a tanker and a blaster + six assorted lowbies.

Tanker herds up mob, using his none lowbie powers to survive.

Blaster wipes them out using his none lowbie AoE powers to do so.

Mob is gone quicker than if a team of eight lowbies tried to fight using their limited power selection.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
A valid argument were it not for the fact that they do actually write it down. The only reason they are stealing bodies is that they want to live forever.

No, I'm quite sure that the CoT don't think of themselves as evil, but they are actually one of the more classically evil groups in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

they don't write down the really juicy stuff
  9. [ QUOTE ]
And they may be right, but what's that got to do with the CoT?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    CoT.

The mages know a lot of valuable knowledge. Knowledge is to be treasured and preserved, this is a good thing.

Writing it down would leave it open to misuse by filthy un-initiated people.

Therefore nicking peoples bodies, and replacing their soul with your own is a perfectly good thing, as it keeps knowledge around.
  10. Team of Tank + Blaster both level 50

    Currently can PL 2 people.

Proposed system can PL 6 people.
  11. [ QUOTE ]

Actually, yes, you are. And therin lies the problem. You're saying "Either join in, or break character by ignoring something happening". Because to ignore it, I had to break character. But I didn't want to get involved. Perhaps, once you'd gathered your little group of people who wanted to be railroaded, you could have moved, politely, a short distance away so as not to disturb those of us who weren't interested, like we asked you to, politely, but you ignored and decided to force your railroad on us. So we moved.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So basically everyone needs to check with you and whether you, feel like acting in character or not?

If you decide you don't want to get involved, then the decision is all up to you, like every time you ignore a Rikti raid happening in another zone, exact same situation in fact.

But ah excuse me I didn't know one of your powers, was a fun negating zone, where only events that have been double checked with you can happen in a certain radius.
  12. [ QUOTE ]

So, let me get this straight... you WANT to force me to do something I don't want to do? You think it's OKAY to force me to RP a scenario that I want no part of?

    Wrong.

I have as much right to RP there as anyone else, but I also have a right to pick which RP situations I want to get involved in. What happened last night was at the very least god-moding (forcing characters to get involved in something they didn't want to, and a cardinal RP sin), and if it wasn't that, then it was griefing (actively trying to spoil the enjoyment of other people playing the game).

I'm not moaning for the sake of it, I'm asking that people give the same consideration for other RPers that I do, and not force them to break character or get involved in what was, quite frankly, and in my opinion only, a stupid and pointless 'plot' (I use the word loosely) designed for no better purpose than to show off the shiny new power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1. The bombs were none lethal. That is a given due to game play constrains and more importantly, character motivation.

    2. Had no one of reacted to them, then nothing would of happened, but since people did react the short plot begins.

    3. I ain't saying you have to join in, but what I am saying is if you ain't joining in, don't get your panties in a knot and [censored] about it.

That's all I have to say on the matter.
  13. Right click on them and add note.

    [ QUOTE ]
(Just to be fair an reasonable, I horrified my other half a day or so ago by pointing out that the death sentence was still allowed for in murder cases within my lifetime. Apparently it was repealed somewhat earlier in the Netherlands. We do have plenty of silly laws in the UK. )

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's worse than you think... The death sentences in the UK for the crimes of high treason and piracy at sea weren't repealed until the late 90's/early 2000's...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It was repealed?

Why am I wasting my time at Uni, I could return to my childhood dream of being a pirate once more!
  15. [ QUOTE ]

Not when the same person creates a handful of toons, drags them to the area one after another, and blows them all up, while (as Ravenswing said) pretenting to RP for 20 minutes about the fact that they were going to blow up, with no way for anyone to intervene. If they want to show off their fancy new power to a lot of players, there are places to do it where it won't interfere with other players' enjoyment of the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you're referring to the "Just a" characters, then had you got involved with the RP and joined the people defusing stuff, then you'd of seen that there were ways to stop of it.

Of course you could also sit there and moan about it OOC, after all wouldn't want to spoil that aspect of your game enjoyment.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Oh no, my pretty much worthless fluff based power of novel personal amusement is bugged. I shall have to curl up and die.

Or I could continue laughing like an idiot at how absurdly awesome my huge model cyborg looks. Now that's a no brainer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Try an 8ft, huge model crab spider doing /e robotdance

    Now that looks awesome!

If these issues had been known about before the pack was released, they would have been fixed before the pack was released.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, none of the people who tested it had a char with a +HP bonus on them? I struggle to find a player char above about level 10 that DOESN'T have a +HP bonus these days...

Perhaps a review of testing procedures would help there.

Sorry GR. I'm well known on here as being a big supporter of the game and the dev team, and have been called a brown nose by several people. But I did predict, with the bugs in the Wedding pack, that the next addon pack would be released bugged as well. I'm somewhat annoyed that I'm right.

The bugs, like the Wedding Pack ones, are very easy to reproduce, and should have been seen almost right away. I just hope the fix to this pack is better thought out than the Wedding Pack fix.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It kills my characters with +hp bonuses fine O_o

then it just randomly doesn't kill a level one alt.

Ah well, on a similar subject, people wanting to convict people of crimes, or just have a good laugh at what's illegal in the place Paragon City is, could check here:

It's actually illegal to marry an idiot O_o

Gimme a gun, and I'd WILLINGLY put Igglepiggle down.

But I'd turn aside from such a task to take out Stephanie, Robby Rotten, Sportacus, and the rest of the Lazy Town bunch! *shudder*

Sometimes, having young children isn't all it's cracked up to be!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    <---- Likes Lazy Town

Igglepiggle on the other hand is creepy, I could honestly see it being the monster from a Japanese horror movie, the spirit of a dead kid or something, that kills because it wants friends.....

.. I have to make my 'little lady' wave at him at least ten times before he goes off to bed.* I think she's now second favourite to In The Night Garden for his viewing of choice.

*Not whilst in the middle of a mission/killing spree, obviously. I wait until he's gone to bed for that - can't really picture myself doing the "What's the little lady doing? Oh, she's blasting the little man's head with a machine-gun, darling" talk just yet...!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ha! All you need to do now is make a toon that looks like Igglepiggle and then, “Why is Igglepiggle lying on the floor mummy?” “Because Igglepiggle got blown up by a zombie suicide bomber.” Funny, yes. Tears all night, yes. Then you could do the same with a Santa character and one for the tooth fairy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Awesome!

I eagerly await your range of child psychology books!
  21. [ QUOTE ]
I don't plan on having kids, they'd take my money and want to use my technology. I'm fine with the cost of the game, was just a little surprised at how much I had spent!

Worth every penny for what the game's given me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The money most of use could handle I think.

But damn get your potential hands off of my PC kids!
  22. [ QUOTE ]
There is an issue a few people are experiencing whereby using the "self detonation" power from the Cyborg Pack released today, inflicts only base HP damage when used, thus leaving the character suspended in midair.

Because the character does not take 100% damage, the character gets no hospital / base dialog, and cannot self rez or be assisted by other players. A logout / login is required to resolve the issue.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Didn't kill one of my levels ones as well, with no +hp effects.

    IC rumours

    Tragedy at Kraven Hall.
    Asylum burns down, lives lost!

Yesterday, Kraven Hall Asylum burned down, given the ferocity of the flames Police and Fire officials suspect, deliberate action. An investigation is under way, to discover the cause of the flames and to ascertain just how many young lives were cut short.

Kraven Hall has long been an Asylum for meta human children, a place to help minds broken by the awakening of more troubling powers.... ((the article goes on more about the history of the asylum.))

To be honest I'm surprised it does any damage whatsoever to PvE/PvP mobs? - I thought the idea was that the packs were not going to contain any powers that give a competitive edge?

...not that I'm complaining, well... not unless I'm on the receiving end of one of those BigBadaBoOoOms!.

Even if you kill something with it, which would be a suprise given the long flashy animation time.... you also die so at most it's a draw
