Weave's been [censored] for everything but tanks since I5, avoid it like plague.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Got numbers for it? My guess is that it will stack good with other +def powers in the invul (and katana) powersets..
  3. I run Temp invul, Unyielding, Tough, Weave, Invincibility and Focused Acc, the end drain is pretty huge.. Although, slot attacks with end red and it works pretty good..

was it too boring being a scrapper / tank and being forced to stand at the side waiting for a HO during the holding fase.

I wasn't able to make it to this raid, but this part takes a little "edge" out of it..

Well, then I see no problem..

    Why a Defender?

I guess it all is a question of taste, I rolled a grav controller once, got him to 18 and was so completely bored with him that I deleted him. Sure, the attacks where nice and did good damage, the only problem was the animation time, by the time I got an attack off the targeted enemy was already killed by the team, the only useful thing I could do was hold the bad guys in mid-air.

I then rolled a dark/dark defender, completely different! Sure, not really a damage dealer but the fact is that you can throw a tar patch, scare the [censored] out of them and debuff their accuracy to oblivion and on a safe distance get of some attacks, the fact that they're slowed by the patch even means that you can get off a Moonbeam now and then, and that's almost in melee-range.

But, as I mentioned, it's all a question of taste..

    Invul scrapper

That's right, -DEF is in unyielding.. IDNRC (I Did Not Recall Correctly )

The more I play it though, the more fun it gets.. It's a challange to finish a fight before end is gone, but I can definately notice the extra DEF working.. Divine Avalanche and Tough Hide next!!

    Invul scrapper

    Hi!

I have Fly and SS as travelpowers. Didn't get Divine avalanche though (I was drunk!), was thinking of getting it (+ tough hide) as my 47 and 50 powers. That would make a pretty good DEF/RES build in my opinion.. I'm going to slot my toggles with a little more end red to get rid of the end-heavyness..

Well, I guess I'll have to play it a little more and get used to the end-drain.. =)

    Invul scrapper

This question goes out to you number-crunchers out there..

I did my lvl 44 respec one drunken night and at the time it felt like a good build.. Now I'm not sure.. =)

I've based my katana/invul scrapper on res up to 44, but thought of getting some def would be good..

    RES-powers from invul:
    Resist Physical Damage
    Temporary Invulnerability
    Unyielding
    Unstoppable

    DEF-powers from invul:
    Invincibility

This was my original "heavy on the RES"-build, on my drunken respec I added:
    RES: Tough
    DEF: Weave

My question, anyone familiar with the numbers that can tell me if the DEF is "useful"? There is a -DEF in Invincibility IIRC. It seems to me that the DEF is working great but I'm not sure.

In my respec I also added "focused accuracy" so my build has 6 "fighting-toggles", so it's kindof end-heavy, what's your ideas? Should I pray that they'll add some "infinate respec mish" at lvl 50?

I must say that it's a workable build, I just have to watch my end..

That's a good idea actually, or ask Bridger to edit the first post in this topic to include the plan. We don't want it stuck on the 8th page where people won't read it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'm full of good ideas!
  14. I will bring my 45..

Could the raid-leader post the plan in a seperate thread and tell people to "pretty please with sugar on top don't make posts in this thread and if you have suggestions on the plan PM the raid leader so he can alter the original post" or something?

    Invulnerability

As far as I've come in the game (lvl 41) with my Inv srapper I've only met with 2 types of enemies that feels harder then the other. Acc debuffers and end drainers. My primary (katana) along with hasten means that I can take down a large group fast, and if they go down fast the res I have as invul protects me no matter what. So my problem is prolonged battles, acc debuffs (nerva spectral daemons) and end drainers (sappers, defeated carnies) are a pain. Heard much talk about "knifes of artemis" and when I fight them I don't find it very hard, the caltrops are a pain, but they go down without making much damage.

The protection Unyielding provides against holds and such is really good too and with defense changes I guess Invincible will get even better in melee.

I've always reasoned like this: If the game gets easy, what's the point of playing it?

Once you go inv, you never go back..

Oh, and unstoppable with a good timer is sweeeeet..

    Invulnerability

I get the same comments with my Kat/Inv, most people seem to favor regen, but I find inv more challenging then my lvl 8 regen that got deleted some weeks ago..
  17. Got to 41 the other day with my lil' ol' scrapper and got the option to choose epic power pool, not really sure what to pick I looked them through and decided to get the darkness mastery for the acc debuffs and immobilize. Chose "Torrent" as my first epic.

Any tip on how to use it wisely? Did I make the wrong decision?

Or, does anyone know of a guide to epic power pools for scrappers? Tried to find one but without luck..
  18. Had a fun session yesterday. Most of the time only one villain online (a hero SG-buddy), so we tested a little powers (being a scrapper it was kinda easy to wait out the holds and then kill the bloody corruptor ). Now and then in the friendly powertesting I heard the AS-sound and got AS:ed and killed. Really fun actually coz when this happend my friend turned and tried hard to get me killed.

Later on I battled with a brute at the half-sunk ship and lost, couple of minutes later (when going to log out) I notice the same brute standing still in plain sight, so I go in for the kill (and won). We decided to have a duel, met up at a location and telled eachother "ready" and the battle begin. Few seconds into the battle - AS - and I get a tell from the brute to run, instead I hit "Dull Pain" and go after the stalker (that flees). Get a tell from the brute saying "or fight, lol". We decide to get the duel going again and he gives me the chance to get Dull Pain recharged, I tell him "or not, rdy" and attack.. At the EXACT moment I get killed Dull Pain is recharged and I click it, a fraction of a second too late.

All of this was fun, no badmouthing in broadcast, no tells "we're duelling n00b!!!1", just plain fun.. If PvP was this way all the time then we would see more action in the PvP-zones..

This was only my 1½ cents, bad english - yes, not enough coffee in the morning - yes, incoherent description of events - surely, fun - absolutely!

    1v1 in PvP zones

Well, Speaking for myself, I only resently brought my scrapper into PvP (to test if my PvE-build worked in PvP, found that it worked pretty good ), since only been in there fighting 2 times I don't know the "rules". But what I realized is that almost all players in there (hero/villains) are nice fellas and I had some good chats in local while faceplanted.. The thing I think you must really think of in the PvP-zones is that you will be killed, either by "mistake" when going for a duel or on purpose, after all, isn't that what PvP is for?
