  1. Yes, but I found a bit boring to play my ill/rad, even solo on invincible (soloing is a meaningless expression tho, since most of the time you are hanging out with your imaginary friends ).

    Earth/?

If you want great fun and challenge, go for Trick Arrow. You can't imagine how good it is.
Slows, damage res, acc, perception, and def debuff, an extra hold, what else do you need? Your enemies won't even have the time to hurt you. Hard to master, but TA is pure F U N. Trust me.
  3. Hot feet is splendid, turn it on, then flash arrow + glue arrow + disruption arrow, send in fire imps, spam your holds, then go in the middle. Use greens if needed.
Oh, and...almost forgot: watch them numbers fly!!!
    ;D

(too bad those impstards are afraid of the burning oil slick)

And if you die, keep in mind - Fire/TA is not for feeling tidy, you are chaos, man!

    New to tanking

I am new to tanking too, but that doesnt mean I havent rolled a loads of tanks already.
Truth is, the only AT I didnt find amusing is the tank. I havent given up tho, I am still trying.

I've tried Inv/Em (nothing special), Stone/Ice (no endurance AND no damage), and now I play as a Ice/Em (the best so far) somedays. I hardly got them higher than lvl 12, and lvling with a tank remained a pain, no matter how hard I tried (I lvl faster with any squishy).
I know tanking gets better with time, and real life starts after 40 (or maybe sooner), but I am really curious about how the hell can one run thru the painful period and enjoy tanking.

And I still can't handle the fact that even with my armor on, they hit me hard, but most of the time I don't have them on, because I am unable to attack then (endurance issues).

Any advices are welcome, because I really want to learn how to love the Tanker AT.

(oh, and hi Knightly m8 )

  5. Was there ever a raid that took so long as yesterday's raid did?

Thx for organising and handling the whole event guys tho. Very nice job.

    HO Swap

Since I took part in yesterday's Hami Raid, I have two "ToHit and Def debuff and Acc" now.

Hami's too kind for me. :'-(

    HO Swap

I have a ToHit and Def debuff and Acc one, I guess that should suit Rad defs and trollers best.
I'd like to swap it for something a kin/nrg/psy def can use.

  8. Thanks for the responses, you helped a lot guys. I try to live without the leaping pool tho, somehow I just don't like toggles, leadership and the epic armor is bad enough to turn on all the time .

Although you all recommended the power mastery pool, I took psychic mastery, the almost perma hold and telekinesis was just too good to not have.

But, since I still have 3 respecs left, I don't say I will never change my mind.

For the last few days I played a support role in RV, if you hunt there and you or your heavy need sb, just send a tell .
That doesnt mean I did not beat a few baddies tho (and got beaten by a lot ).

  9. Thanks for your thoughts OVWyx, I am waiting for your PM then.

A few more questions. I was thinking about what are the blasts I should take from nrg. Shall I focus on ST, or take the cone attacks too? Is power push any good (it is a fun power in PvE, rarely used tho)? Will I ever use Nova?
  10. Hi all,

I realised that my one and only lvl 50, Bleach (kin/nrg def)has suffered from unemployment in the past months (year? :-|), so I decided to make some changes on him to make him a PvP fighter, mainly in RV.

Prob is, I feel like a complete noob when PvP comes into discussion, so I'd like to know your opinions what powers shall I get/avoid.
I was thinking about getting the Psy Epic pool, because of its nice hold, but you are free to convince me about anything else.

I am not sure about the travel power, shall I take the leaping pool and get Acro? Or just use SS with combat jump? Or don't bother with travel pools anyway, (kin defs often say this). Do I need the leadership pool (as I reckon, Pvp is about dropping the toggles all the time)?

    And so on...

Knowing that kin/nrg is not the best synergy I am desperately waiting for your wisdom.

    Thanks in advance.

  11. Don't kill me guys, it is okay. I never said invincible is useless, and I never said I would ever respec it out. I just said I couldn't tell the difference, and I tend to die quicker if it is on, so I use it as a handy herding tool. Buffs def and acc? Even better.
  12. Well, the main problem with invincible is not just end draining. To put it simple: end drain + agro + you think mobs won't hit you = faceplant. I was playing around with it lately, slotted for def, and endrec, and I can say in big teams it can be useful for keeping agro on yourself. Maybe. If you would like to use it as an uber def/acc buff, you will probably be disappointed. Only one thing is sure: rampaging around with just unyielding on is king.
  13. Well, most of the time invincible pulls agro, sucks endurance bad, and leaves my poor brute without the ability to defend himself. Sometimes I turn it on tho - couldnt tell the difference. At least it looks good.
  14. Wow, that was fast MaX, thank you again.

The fact imps are afraid of slippery surfaces doesn't amuse me much tho. I thought they are fearless, dammit.

  15. I met another problem with oil slick arrow - my fire imps seem to ignore foes affected by burning oil; well, to be more precise, they flee from the burning patch, and wait outside the battle .

Is it normal? I mean my other AoE attacks have no effect on imps, so why does oil slick arrow?

    bleach
  16. lol, thank you MaX for the enlightenment, that was the problem :-D

  17. I just got my fire/ta troller to lvl 35 and finally I was able to choose oil slick arrow which I started fire/ta for.

My problem is, oil slick doesnt seem to add any damage when used with fire. I tried with fire cages, hot feet, flashfire, imps, and even with char (which is no fiery really ), and all combinations in reverse order.

Could anyone tell me what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

  18. Well, I just hit lvl 14 with my fire/ta troller and I found that lots of fun and even more challenge.
Since you have AoE debuffs and attacks, you _will_ get all the aggro baaaad (mobs easily leave tanks alone to go after you :-D).
So it is hit and run most of the time, be sure to bring lotsa greens with you.
Besides all of this, to control large mobs is a great feeling, and compensates all troubles.

And...if you are in a good team with good healers (and maybe 2-3 trollers) you will find yourself on top of the world ;-).

Soloing with higher reps is not recommended tho (I am unyielding, and I hardly can do a mish alone lol).

Fire/Rad is good too, but if you think you've seen everything in Paragon, or you're just seeking challenge (and super group control), try fire/ta, you will have much fun.

  19. Thx Moon, and gratz on dinging with V-Rock .

My new main is Lungsie I guess (lvl 26 ill/rad troller), but last night Grampa was reborn too.
To those whe ever met him before: Gramps is wiser, older, and grouchier than ever .
Peace was always his obsession, now he brings it by nature.

  20. Thanks guys, it took about 440 hours, but it was worth it I say. :-)

Very big thx for the Ascended (and most of all, Shade of Red, the best mentor in town ;-).

Gratitude goes to the Paragon Blues too, my former SG, we had very good time together guys.

  21. Hey all,

I just wondered what would be the most useful troller build for s4.
Was thinking about a mind/rad, as psi can be a pain the eye, and rad has some good early debuffs (which don't need to hit target).
But I'd really like to read your thoughts about this guys, any idea will be appreciated.
